Great information. Knowledge is always great to have.
Absolutely! 🙌🏼
Looking forward to having this system
Wonderful info!! Thanks for sharing!
Good information to have if you need to mix panels in your array. Although it is possible to do panel mixing it is still best to use a separate solar charge controller for the different panels you may have.
Very true!!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it Scott!
Thanks for showing this!
You bet! 🙌🏼
We have mixed wattage panels, and the system works great. Each set uses it's own charge controller; there aren't any mixed wattage on the same controller.
That is great!! Glad it is working well for you!
Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
You are so welcome! ☀️ Thanks for watching!

Wow great info
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
I have 4 HQST 5BB. 100 Watt panels and 4 hqst 100watt 9BB. panels . the newer panels have higher open circuit voltage 24.2. the older one's are 19.1 volt..... how do I wire these in 2 strings then parallel the 2 string into one ?
Good information
I have 8 panels in series 1 got busted so I will replace with a slightly larger panel as not to lose to much voltage
Sorry to hear about that!!
What about shading? Is there a configuration advantage to going parallel vs series when there is the opportunity for partial shading (like on a sailboat or a yard with trees)?
Hey there! That is a great questions that we may cover in our next video! Here is what our tech teams input is. 😊
A shaded solar panel can bring down the power output of an entire string. However, a shaded panel on a string will not affect the power output of a parallel string. This means you can group panels that receive shade onto a single string, and the panels that do not receive shade on another, to maximize your overall energy efficiency. By putting panels on separate strings, you can help reduce the impact.
By installing microinverters, the solar panels will be connected in parallel. This means that each panel will operate at maximum power, without impacting the other panels. This method, as opposed to having a single inverter servicing all of the panels, each panel can have a small inverter attached converting direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
Sweet!!
You guys have great prices

Next time when testing use a battery that is atleast 50% ur test is useless since we dont know how many Amps goes to the battery.
Man that is a bit complicated for a non electrician. 🙃
It can definitely be a bit daunting, but it's doable! Lots of research on the topic helps a ton!
Great info
