great videos man ive been watching for a few weeks. i do hvac/r and general maintenace, cooking equipment, plumbing, and electrical for wendys in california. been doing it for a year about and your videos help me out lots. thx man
Yeah but she jumped to 320 in an instant. That condenser ain’t rejecting much anymore. I slid her down to 275 and she was riding at a 14 degree coil which I know some cap tubes roll 15-17. We’ll see. Would be surprised if that comp clocks out in the coming days with a load on it again. 🤞
For sure… there’s no real telling other than every model of that compressor is for 404/448. Would’ve guessed it was a 134 unit of if I had absolutely nothing to go on.
No Tag? Make your own! In this situation, I would recover the charge. And Charge it with R404A. It's a cap tube unit. So the type of refrigerant shouldn't mater 134 or 404. And I would Label the unit. I would guess 8-12 oz based off the Randell brand unit, and compressor size. I see a call back coming! Good luck! Lol
for the most part that's a good idea. only problem is - the Condenser. It's Sized to use a certain refrigerant. if it's not the right size for 404 = high head pressure.

Still low on charge based on your condensing temp unless it’s 50/60 degrees in the kitchen

Any chance an earlier tech put the wrong gas in the unit?

Those are the "root canal" of the service repair industry.....
Those fins can be straightened very easily only takes about 5-10 minutes.
would help alot.
Any reason why you didn't attemp to straighten out the fins om the coil?
Time for a new unit
