    Yea, that’s definitely undersized. Car charger most likely drawing 48 amps, hot tub 45amps, AC 25 amps, and other loads, I wouldn’t be surprised if the main trips.

      You just made all that shit up. Absolutely not. All those loads you mentioned always pull less than what you "think" they pull. I bet a million dollars your not an experienced sparky nor do you own a amp meter.

    Manitowoc-approved fan cycle switches are junk. There should be a process stub near the old switch. Pinch off the stub and braze in an access stem. There’s not typically a lot of room in those single evap cubers, so using a Johnson P70AA-118C, though preferable, may not be ideal. R-404A, right? A 170-250 psi encapsulated “peanut” switch, 1/4” flare with depressor should do the trick. It’ll go bad too, unfortunately. But, hey, at least it’ll be easy for the next guy to replace.

      @@restaurantrepairs Not trying to critique your trouble shooting style, but you did have access to those voltage terminals at the unit, maybe save a little time by not having to use a honeywell stat. Me personally I wouldn't have touched too much after seeing the Xfrmer, That is a good indication they fried that board and other possible components. I had one company try and sue the one I was at just because I started to clean up their mess saying it was mine if that makes sense. I like to CMA with any customer. Take your pics and immediately ask the owner TF for not being honest about the situation, Cause I have also had them turn around and not pay after fixing it because I didn't inform them. I don't wanna assume anything but customers are sleazy especially commercial like this type of owner.

  • @devmeistersuperprecision4155

    It appears legal but marginal. The owner may need a load calc. The hot tub can fluctuate depending on size and number of pump motors. A cal spa with the volcano jets has three pumps with the third at 5 HP. Where I would be concerned is the size of this sub panel. How big is the main panel? Is it a 40 slot 200 or larger? I would certainly check that sub panel for good measure. Insure that you have a shielded neutral for those singles. Insure the ground bar is attached to shell and isolated from the neutral bar. Hot tubs make me nervous. I want to make sure that the ground path is in tact in case of a ground fault.

    Why do so many people think that large amp breakers in a panel rated for 100, 125 or 150 amp is such a problem? Odds are none of them are pulling their max rating and in most cases air handlers & compressors are rated high due to in-rush current! Once in-rush current is gone the loads typically run at 30-70% of the breaker/circuit rating this is why there is a 83% rule in the NEC!!!

    • @restaurantrepairs
      @restaurantrepairs Před 3 dny

      Charger pulls 43 - hot tub pulls 30 - let’s add 17kw of heat strips likely another 15. She may be fine. It just seems like a lot given I’m not accounting for any of the consumer outlet draw. 👍

    • @80sfordguy
      @80sfordguy Před 3 dny

      @@restaurantrepairs again, the 83% rule and the fact that all loads likely won’t be used at the same time at their individual max ratings. Obviously, if the main 100A breaker isn’t tripping due to over current or heat and is working as intended. It is likely within 83% and never exceeds the max load rating of the main breaker. Probably close or between the 83% and max rated though, likely using the service load calculations it should be a 125A service.
