Dear all, i'd like to inform you that Giorgi and me have climbed Nanga Parbat this year: Second ascent of Sadpara variant on Kinshoffer route. There was still a lot of work on the mountain, as we were first expedition there. Have climbed in "alpine style" above 6000 (but using some fixed ropes until 7100 mostly from our previous attempt). Thank you for your interest and kind wishes ^^ I think a new video will be fun too! Greetings from the Caucasus! Archil
No sherpas setting the route, no one cooking and carrying your bags, no bottled oxygen....the way climbing is meant to be. You guys can actually say you climbed the mountain and not be full of shit! Great video.
Except for the bottled oxygen. Don't know how high this mountain is in feet. In death zones, it is, in my view, foolish to do it without oxygen. That is a matter of physiology, not personal fitness or stamina. Nevertheless, I agree, top marks to these two climbers doing it all on their own -- real climbers and great film to boot. Not pretend climbers with others carrying all their stuff for them. Great video.
agreed. I get the impression people climb Everest for the selfie and bragging rights. Of course everyone has their own reasons, but there is something about the ques on Everest that doesn't sit with me too well. I think the suggested criteria a 6,500m summit must be made prior is a good one.
Renunciation in mountain is never a defeat. It is the intelligent awareness of the danger that keeps you alive and gives you the chance to try again. Beautiful video. Thank you for making videos that have respected the silence of the places. Admirable.
