    I worked in ECG for some time and hospitals were exempted. They are critical loads and they have dedicated lines. But due to load surges, other domestic and semi commercial loads were put on these hospital lines and that’s why the power outage is affecting them.

    • @sergedalli7924
      @sergedalli7924 Před 2 měsíci

      Who decided to add those commercial and domestic loads to the hospital lines?

    • @jeffchristianadedi4107

      ohhk. I get it now cos i was thinking about it

    • @kobbiemontel
      @kobbiemontel Před 2 měsíci +1

      Load demand. So when these loads are added and there is a fault, and you need to shut down the feeder, then that’s it. The hospital goes off. Not just hospitals but other entities as well. There used to be a good ring system which made it possible to energize from other areas but I think all those systems are either excessively loaded or just collapsed. The whole national grid is not ready for the load capacity of Ghanaians, despite the fact that there is adequate generation. The problem is losses and even back in 2015, it wasn’t just losses but at times sabotage. People deliberately burn poles, others deliberately cut lines. But the whole thing was politicised. Now it has degenerated to this and it can’t be stopped.
