Pup and I walked to Winn on the tracks to see just what's been going on. I was shocked to see just how much tree removal has been completed for the new siding work that soon will be happening.
Are they planning on installing a passing siding for meets or just for storage awaiting interchange? I was amazed to see how far back they'd cleared (based on what I could see from the road as we drove south between 'Keag and Lincoln. It's looking like a respectable railroad again.
I noticed along about the 13 minute mark that it's all stick rail. They must be planning on replacing that later once they make all the (presumed) cuts for the switches, etc. on the main track. Looking forward to seeing how this all progresses. It's great to see some serious $$ investment in that end of the railroad. CSX doesn't put that kind of money into things unless they have plans to get a return on their investment. I hope it all translates into good things for the people up there in terms of jobs and economic activity. Thanks for taking us along for the walk. And you know what they say: "If your dogs getting fat, it means you're not getting enough exercise." Your dog looks lean.
Hi there, just sub subbed! Where are these sidings going to be located, town wise. I’m very interested. I live in NH on the CSX mainline, NHN as well. CSX seems to be investing money and effort in both of our states, head and shoulders above the last owner!🇺🇸
Greetings! Our company, Digger’s Inc. is performing the work on this job in Mattawamkeag. Thank you for the video and kind words!
Just found you and subbed! Very cool location!
Looks more like a small train yard going in there! Are there any mines in the area or some kind of manufacturing plant near by?

Any idea who is doing the ground work? Those don't look like Emery Lee's machines or GBI Right of Ways.
Pretty extensive yad they're planning there it seems, eh? Are they allowing locals to haul away the larger trees for cordwood?
