- Customer gets what he wanted despite his root problems in the stormwater drains . Maybe he wants to renew the area completely next year. That may be the reason I didn't have to go to the bottom of it. It only has to drain for a while.

Bin schon über 10 Jahre in der Sanierung aber sowas hab ich noch nicht gesehen. Hab mal in einem DN200 2m 100% mit Wurzeln zu gefräst. Aber solche Regeneinläufe hab ich nie gesehen.

Just a suggestion, get a digging shovel and cut the end off and use it as a blade along the wall of the chamber to cut the roots growing in the bottom. Also get a pressure washer gun wand so you're not spraying 5' away. Use a zero degree tip and it'll slice through the roots at the source. Sometimes to get roots like this out, we have to think more like a gardner and less like a plumber.

Sewer crews used to carry post hole diggers or long handled coal shovels, here in the states. Now they just trim the weeds that grow from our storm sewers.
That "basket" looked more like a pot to plant flowers in.

Du hattest vor einiger Zeit drum gebeten, bei The Server Man vorbei zu sehen. Und ich finde es immer wieder faszinierend wie sie mit einfachen Mitteln zum Ergebnis kommen. Alte oder einfache Maschinen, eigenartige Arbeitshandschuhe (Isoliert für 1kv) oder immer mit ihren Latschen mit Durchsichtiger Stahlkappe.

Gotta love city workers, I see this all the time jetting sewer lines. The amount of root infiltration, H2S damage, and all around lack of basic care and maintenance is mind blowing. They always try to pass the back ok us too and get super mad when we throw it back and prove it.

I'd also like to make a suggestion that you add a flat hole, a hole with a vertical blade, (I use one to edge the driveway), and highly recommend a post hole digger. That should help break out the compacted silt and roots. Also a couple of sickle knives, (carpet/drywall knives). That would help get the roots coming in from the concrete. Sometimes a jet cutter just isn't enouhh.

Watching our friend Ollie from the Drain Addict channel from Australia Ollie has a long handled wand Root cutter , this would have come in useful for you on this Job , we have the same problem here with Our Local councils they fail to clean out the gullies on a regular basis , they then start filling up with Silt and the next thing you know you have small trees trying to grow in them .

Hi John...Ollie has a completely different setup .. I don't have that .. He has around 250bar or more for his jobs but less water flow .. That's why I mentioned that my job was just to ensure that it drains .. It's not that it would not interest me how fast he could have done it... Our jetters are just too different to compare in this point

Good day. I don't think John was meaning that getting the type of tool Ollie uses to get the job done faster. I think he was meaning that Ollie's tool would get the job done more efficiently. I know that you could get a metal rod that would connect to your jetter with a cutting nozzle for your system that would give you a quality cut and would ease your job considerably. The amount of water amount or pressure shouldn't factor in using a proper tool. It shouldn't be very expensive.

I agree this job would have been miserable regardless of tools, you did phenomenal. At home, I use a trenching shovel to get through roots but even that is slow going and delicate work, and I’m not trying to avoid metal structures!

I was waiting on you to bring out some boards to get more leverage using that big pry bar. We call them railroad bars here. Looking at that mess of roots below the basket I thought a post hole digger might of helped slicing through those roots for you.
Glad you got it done and watching you and the other worker always wear those safety glasses and even a face shield is good when dealing with high pressure water. Only takes a split second and a that's never happened before moment to blind you.

Hi Chris,,thanks first of all. Well, as you may know, this was a very unusual job for me in this form so that I'm not equipped with tools as such to get that kind of stuff out .. By the way, hereabouts, we don't use that kind of high pressure. As I see it, in US ,GB and Australia.. they work with way over 3500 PSI . I'm just using 1850 PSI ,so 130 bar.. That makes it less dangerous...I'm not so in to safety gear my self , but when I use them, it has reasons.. 😅

...allerdings...❗Die feine Erde entstand wohl hauptsächlich aus der Verrottung von Laub, durch den Einlauf wurden mitunter Samen von Löwenzahn in den Korb gespült, wie man anfangs sieht. Löwenzahn ist eine Zeigerpflanze die auf stickstoffreichen (also SEHR fruchtbaren !!!) Böden wächst...insofern ist die massive Bewurzelung des Korbes und der Kanäle also überhaupt nicht so unnormal ❗

Это просто потому, что клиент просто хотел, чтобы дождь снова пошел, предположительно, он просто хотел продать собственность и получить дешевую работу. Кстати весь сюжет (3 видео) делал с корнями 4см в канале
