I just got the Pablo pencils and love them. I am trying very hard not to let these kinds of videos persuade me to spend more money but they're doing a pretty good job!

Hello! "Pablo" and "Luminance" are the pencils I prefer... I have Prismacolor, Faber Castell Polychoromos, etc but these ones are the best for me! Do you know Caran d'Ache has just created 24 news tons in Luminance? I'm as glad as a child seeing a Christmas tree! (sorry fort my bad English. I hope you'll understand me)

I love my Pablo's, I am on the fence about the luminous. I love my polychromos and Prisma color and my Derwent, but the oil base Pablo's are really beautiful. Thanks for the video.

Also just bought the Pablo - the 80 and I love them.... I was good and decided I didn't need the few extra colours. I bought Pablo for the colour range and am so glad I did. My local art store allows you to preorder the new luminance.

I want to try Pablo. The Pablo I see have mostly 2 star lightfast rating pencils in their sets. Its only excellent if its 3 star. I already have Luminance that have all 3 star. PS, The pablos are a fully wax pencil, it is specified in the new red boxes. That is why they blend better and are more opaque than the polys :) they are just a firm core wax pencil. Still, I want them! LOL! Thanks for sharing!

I have both and I use them both together. You can’t go wrong with either set really. I highly recommend either set. I basically wanted the Pablo set because I didn’t have any oil based pencils. All of mine (to my knowledge, right now are wax based) the Luminescence are just as beautiful . I don’t use these everyday though I use still use my Prismacolor pencils for everyday artwork . These are only for those special pieces I do that I want to give something extra too!
I also own their Supra Water color pencils.... I would recommend them as well you can use them wet or dry they are beautiful as well.
Yes I enjoyed the video. Keep em coming.!

I love the neutral color in luminance, coloring skin with these must be so satisfying. They will be probably forever on my wish list but they r too expensive for me. 😢😢 im opting for Pablos if I will ever have the chamce to buy them

Instaclick! Is it bad that I want the full set of both? I love my 40 set of pablo but it needs more olive greens and skin tones for sure (right now I am mixing up those colors.) And the luminance have me drooling a bit.....😭 thanks for the comparison!

    • @basho4306
      @basho4306 Před 3 lety +3

Well you might also buy the pencils seperately... But if the big sets make you drool (which I can totally understand) go for it (I've also heard there's now a set of only skin tones/ earth colours?)

My specialty is colored pencil portraits. After 23 years of Prismacolors, I'd love to see how dramatic a change another brand might make. My concern is that neither Pablo nor Luminance have anything that looks close to two of the Prismacolor colors I use most - Clay Rose and Rosie Beige. Can I successfully combine a Prismacolor or two with either of the Caran D'aches?

Hi I just found your videos they are great.
I am new to Caran Dache I just bought the Neo 2, crayons. Love them 💙💚 Also.
Just learned about "Toned Tan" and "Mixed Media" paper. Love the Mixed Media by Strathmore, it works with light water brushes.
So I want to buy Either Lumince or Pablo but I like the way a waxed (prismcolor) pencil or either Prismacolor Permier or Scholar glides on the paper.
Which Caran D'Ache dose this if you know???
Also what paper do you think works best for Cran Dache if you can help me.
ALSO..... have you tried Lyria Crayons and if so what do you think?
    Thk you again.
    Diane🎉

I think you would love the Pablo pencil colors. Strathmore is an excellent paper choice. Try the Strathmore Hardbound 500 Series Mixed Media Art Journal. It's 100% cotton paper. Lyra aquacolor crayons are great too. So are the Neocolors. I have review videos on all of these products on my channel. I'm so glad you found my channel. Enjoy your new art supplies. ☺

Luminance seem waxier than the Pablo….. at least to my eyes. I have never used either as of yet because I have Prisma, Faber Castell and Albrecht Durers, Inktense, Derwent Artist,Black Widows and Castle Arts so I don’t need pencils right now but I do want one of these Caran D”Ache pencil sets and am trying to decide and everyone says Luminance but they look very waxy to my eyes compared to the Pablo’s.
