    I use it to tissue off my makeup, then I apply again and warm cloth wash it off, then I pat dry, then I put it on as a night cream, and day cream. I'm sold on it. And BONUS: the price is unbeatable. I LOVE it. After years of Mark Kay and Merle Norman, and Clonique, I'm will never use anything else, I LOVE my ponds!

      I couldn't recommend them more highly! I love all their products, really (I'm a reenactor), but their cold creams are just the best! Adorable packaging, and there's rose, orange, and cucumber neroli scents. They're all great smelling and the cucumber neroli smells downright edible!

    I have had really terrible skin since my youngest child was born, I tried everything and nothing helped. I was really frustrated because I had always had a nice complexion, even as a teen. Well your video got me into the cold cream isle and I had a light bulb moment, my mom grew up using Noxema, and I grew up using Noxema. Sure enough, within days my skin was perfection! My 54 year old Uncle also uses Noxema still to this day :) I had stopped using it because I had thought the tingle was an allergic reaction lol!

    I make my own cold cream. I have extremely sensitive skin so most products give me allegories. It's super simple to make and it lasts up to six months. People should try making their own, it's super cheap and fun (if you like d.i.y.'s).

    I have seen the light. I now only love non-foaming, soap-free cream cleansers like cold creams or any cleansing creams. I have oily acne prone skin too. Cleansing creams like cold creams clear the skin's blemishes up for some reason and your skin feels so, so beautiful! They even smooth out small tiny 'ice pick' scars from old acne :O. Cleansing milks are OK but only if they're very rich, heavy and creamy like the cleansing creams.

    I literally a couple of days ago discovered cold creams. I'm not sure why, I guess I have been living under a rock lol. I just bought some from the dollar tree. It's their version of the pond's original cold cream, and I love it! I love that it's like 3 things in one. A makeup remover, a facial cleanser, and a moisturizer. I haven't tried the ponds yet, but I definite want to. I'm also really wanting to try one of these home-made ones too! I love the vintage containers they come in. My mamaw was telling me about her using cold cream for removing makeup, and cleansing the face and what not. And she said that her mom, (my great grandma) used it too. I can't believe I'm just now discovering it! I'm never using those harsh makeup removing wipes again!

    • @LisaFreemontStreet
      @LisaFreemontStreet  Před 8 lety

      +Darci Stewart I hate those wipes! I am currently using Clarins Pure Melt cleansing gel, which has a water soluble Marula Oil in it, instead of cold cream, but that's just because it's free for me, as a Clarins girl. I'd miss it, but if I didn't have the option of it, I'd use ponds for sure!

    • @DarciAStewart01
      @DarciAStewart01 Před 8 lety +1

      +LisaFreemontStreet Awesome! Yeah those wipes are awful, now that I have tried cold cream. They're so harsh and rough on the face and don't get your face completely clean. Cold cream does!

    I love this video! I use Jergens. I use it as a makeup remover, cleanser, and moisturizer. I have used it as a deep cleansing facial mask as well, though not routinely. I started using it every day a little more than a year ago. It has done a world of good for my impossibly sensitive skin. The reason I started using it was actually because before I started, my face cracked and peeled and it would hurt so bad when I slept that it started waking me up. That has not happened since.

    The Ponds pink lid doesnt stay on my skin, I'm dark olive and as soon as I rub it gently over my face as a pre cleanse, it absorbs after 1-2 mins. I'm oily skinned!! I then use a warm muslin cloth to wipe my face. Boom! Marvelous first cleanse, all spf and makeup gone. The pink lid is lightly scented... parfum is last on the ingredients. I love it! I think its affordable compared to Etsy so I'm gonna keep using it! ❤

  • @josephinehiggins8183
    @josephinehiggins8183 Před 6 lety +1

    They say in some cases the tingle feeling you have on skin when you apply a skin product means it is working if there is no irritation afterwards , also you want a face cream to absorb otherwise it is pointless using it because like you mentioned it just sits on the surface and when a face cream or moisturiser stays on top of your skin then it wouldn't be effective to have any beneficial results. For a face cream to work it should penetrate.

      Fred Allen I used pond's cold cream for a long while and it did really well for my acne. However, I think they changed the ingredients or something because suddenly I broke out like crazy *all* *over* my face. Then I used noxzema and it cleared up in about a week. Since then I've needed to switch to clean and clear, since noxzema gradually didn't clear my acne as well.

    Occlusive just means it sits on the surface of the skin. An "occlusion" is a blockage... or remember occlumency from Harry Potter? Haha. It just seals in the moisture that your skin already has. It doesn't actually clog pores. That's an old skin care myth ^_^

    Decided to pick up a cold cream a while ago and I have combination skin which is sometimes sensitive in certain areas a different times of the day year. I was surprised it's only £2.50 for so much compared to the other products near it.
    I heard only to use it in the winter which is why I have some more but it's great! Have to admit that for a few days after my skin gets more spots than usual and gets a little bit red but after a day or so it's all amazing and soft again :)
    Using again because my skin is overly sensitive for some reason and some anti spot face washes and scrubs I used made my face a bit dry and same with sensitive face wipes. So good and cheap

    I use sukin derma moisturiser its a massive tub. Tend to use it maybe once maybe twice a week overnight as a sort of mask. Most sinks in and it gives a fine layer barrier sometimes in the morning depending on the season ill gently and lightly wipe off my skin in the morning but persobally my skin doesnt need to be cleansed morning and night so it also provides a great base for makeup and protection for my skin i just smother my face in sunscreen then apply bb cream or whatever else. At night i use an oil cleanser and give myself a face massage before i get in the shower and wash it off then in the shower ill brush my teeth wash my hair and then use a water based cleanser once im out of the shower i go sit down at my vanity and white my skin is still that damp plumpness from the shower i spray on a aha/bha toner which also works as a chemical exfoliant its gentle and then i use a hyularonic serum and then i apply a sukin daily mosituriser and eye cream if im not using the cold cream and then ill either lay down and relax on a neck roll giving my skin time to absorb before putting my face on the pillow or ill put on a sleeping mask or under eye mask if ive had a big day or am going to be doing something the next day like an event or special thing and want my skin to behave itself. Haha.
    If i wear heavy makeup i always do a clay sort of face mask after oil cleansing and then when i wash off the face mask ill use a water based cleanser to make sure i got it all off. I also make sure i get good sleep and do stretches morning and night cat stretches are the best for your neck and back but yeah not to mention i drink water constantly and besides cacao and milk i really dont drink anything besides water.

    The "tingling" you experience may be a result of one ingredient. It may contain Borax ie, Sodium Borate which acts as a cleansing agent and was widely used/added to Cold Cream years ago. Many producers of Cold Cream stopped adding it as it was determined to be too harsh on dry and sensitive skin. I myself avoid any skin care that contains it since I have a sensitivity to it. Many people have no adverse reaction at all.

    The vintage doll has vitamin E. This is a known irritant (believe it or not)...
    The reason that handmade cold creams absorb is the type of oil they use. Some oils absorb into the skin (like coconut oil). Mineral oil, the main ingredient in the ponds cream, doesn't absorb into the skin. This is good or bad depending on what you want it to do. It means it won't moisturize the skin. But, it also means it is non-comedogenic. Some people break out from olive and coconut oils-- so some ladies beware!

    Could you please do a hair tutorial? I love this, especially the fringe!

    You look so lovely in this video . You hair and makeup is so pretty . So did I understand correctly that the Vintage Doll cold cream is unscented ? I love my Ponds cold cream , but the perfumed scent is so strong . I have bad allergies to scented products and perfume , so I would love to find an unscented cold cream . Thanks so much for posting this :)

    @jennifer Nelson, you're so right. I've found some hidden gems there and then some epic fails as well.

    I recently use Pond's cold cream because it is the only cold cream I could find in my hometown. However, I'm always worry about the mineral residual it may leave on my skin, which could make me breakout. Do you think a gentle cleanser like CeraVe could clear all the leftover oil from it? Cause that is what I use afterward. Or I need to use a micellar water?

    My skin is combo. But so bipolar and I never know if it will be dry and sensitive. Can I use this as a cleanser just by itself? I don't wear makeup

      Yes, is the perfect way to cleanse dry sensitive skin, even without makeup. Wash your face with it and use a warm cloth to remove it. You won't even have to follow up with moisturizer. I leaves your skin soooo soft.
