    How can you integrate 6.5. M1 or m2 speakers to the the can am Rockford Fosgate audio roof, and can you use the same remote that is provided?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 3 lety

      The Can-Am roof is already equipped with the 1st generation M1 speakers and LED speaker rings. Technically, 2nd generation M1/M2 speakers can be powered by any controller, but we have not tested this with the Can-Am controller and App.

    Can I put the tweeters on an amp or are they only compatable with the speaker?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes, you can run the M2-TS component tweeters off a separate amplifier. They are rated to handle up to 200W RMS, so they will work with most amplifiers in the Rockford Fosgate lineup. You can find more info on the M2-TS here: rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/m2-ts/

    What amps are you running with the new M2 Series speakers? I’m seeing 150RMS AND 300RMS speaker models and no Rockford Fosgate marine amps to push them? I’m seeing 100RMS max on the TM1000 amps.

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 3 lety

      The new M2 speakers have high sensitivity, so they don't require a lot of amplifier power to run them. Also, the power handling number isn't what's *required* to power the speakers properly, it's how much power they can *handle*. Typically you need 25% up to 100% of the RMS power rating to properly power a speaker like the M2. This means you'll need anywhere from 37.5 Watts (like the M2-200X2 or P400X4) up to 150 Watts for the 150W models and 75W up to 300W to power the 300W models. All Rockford Fosgate marine amplifiers produce plenty of power to drive these speakers. Also, be sure to look at the Dynamic Power output of the amplifier, because although we're using RMS to match the components "on paper", the Dynamic Power is what you'll realistically be getting when you wire them up and power them.

    • @straightshooter9397
      @straightshooter9397 Před 3 lety

      Rockford Fosgate If 25% is enough to push the units, then why even get an amp? My Fusion head unit is 50 watt x 4 RMS. I currently have a Fusion MSRA-70 head (2 zones) and 4 M2 6.5’s and a M2 10” sub. 1 speaker at each corner of an Aqua Patio pontoon. My goal is to add two more to the front, 2 more to the rear and add a set of tower 8’s to the tow tower. What amps and wiring sequence would you recommend?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 3 lety

      @@straightshooter9397 Not previously knowing anything about the application, yes, you certainly can power 2 or 4 coax speakers off the source unit. However, if you want it loud-to-really loud, you'll want to use external amplifiers. The point is applying 150 Watts to a 150 Watt speaker isn't required to power them. This is the same concept as cruising at full throttle 100% of the time since the Aqua Patio Pontoon has a 300 HP engine. However, now that we know more about the boat, speaker count, and audio goals, we can really start to make some real-world recommendations.There are several different combinations, so if you call our tech line (1-800-669-9899) you'll likely get 2 or 3 additional options than what's recommended below, and they will all be correct:
      1. SPEAKERS: (8) M2 6.5" (M2-65) @ 150 Watts RMS
      1. AMPLIFIER: (1) PM600X4 150 Watts x 4 @ 2-Ohm (211W Dynamic) wire 2 speakers in parallel per channel. You're probably thinking well, each amplifier channel produces 150 watts, so each speaker will only be getting 75 watts. The speakers have a 92 dB sensitivity! Typically anything over 90 dB is considered a "sensitive" speaker, and therefore does not require tons of power to get loud. I've used these speakers in live demonstrations to our dealers, and I guarantee it will be loud. If you feel it needs to be pushed to the absolute maximum, then use (2) PM600X4 amplifiers. One for the front and one for the rear.
      2. SPEAKERS: (2) Punch 8" (PM282HW) @ 150 Watts RMS
      2. AMPLIFIER: (1) PM500X2 150 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm (223 Dynamic) Wire each speaker to each channel directly. This is right at the threshold of power handling, so the gain settings on this amplifier needs to be precisely matched to the source unit. If you want to be a little more conservative, use the PM400X2.
      3. SUBWOOFER: (1) M2 10" (M2D4-10S) 400 Watts
      3. AMPLIFIER: (1) PM300X1 rated at 300 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohm (444W Dynamic) I'm making the assumption you have the dual 4-ohm subwoofer model that can be switched to 2-ohms. If so, this amplifier is the perfect match.

      Rockford Fosgate I currently have the TM1000x5ad amp. It’s 100RMS vs. the 150RMS M2 speakers. Did you recommend running a 200RMS channel to a 150RMS 8” speaker? I’m not following that.

    • @straightshooter9397
      @straightshooter9397 Před 3 lety

      Rockford Fosgate Eric, It appears Rockford needs to step up their amp game. If they are going to put out 150RMS and 300RMS units, then they should have the amps to push them to the capacity of what you are paying for.
      A 1200/4 amplifier with 4ohm and 2 ohm capabilities would be ideal for everything most marine systems are trying to do. At 300RMS/4ohm per channel, you could run (8) M2’s at their full potential in parallel. The second amp, also a 1200/4, could run 4 towers in standard sequence assuming the 8” M2 towers coming out are 300RMS/4ohm. The 3rd amp, 600/1, can run the sub.
      Why is an amp like this not available?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 3 lety

      You can, but be prepared for a different sound. The new M0/M1/M2 marine speakers have a custom frequency response designed for outdoor use, allowing you to hear music over wind, water and engine noise. Since these don't have a "flattened frequency response" like your typical car audio speaker, they will be brighter. This will be like using a Punch Pro speaker, and the output will be very bright and loud.

      These speakers have a similar customized frequency response for open air applications like our Harley-Davidson specific TMS speakers, so acoustically they would work great. However, Rockford Fosgate has not done any hardware testing on any Harley-Davidson fairings, lowers, or TourPaks and cannot advise on fitment.
