You need the new USB chargeable hot shot they sell know so when you get um that close you can drop the paddle it's a shorter hot shot.. awesome video..
I think that market might dip for a little bit this winter but come March or April I think you're going to do really well on those calves. We always sell ours right after April Fool's Day and seem to do really well on them lightweights.
Yeah it’s been trending downwards for the last month or so. I’m hoping you are right and it comes back early spring. These will be 7 or 8 weights by then and ought to sell well.
I’m doing the same. Weaned at end of September and have been holding o to everything through this topsy turvy volatile cattle market.
Hopefully it starts coming back early spring! Haul calves in at this point and you don’t know if the market will do okay or if they’ll drop another 10-20 that day.

All have thickened coats in preparation for cooler/colder weather.

Considering you do a lot of your herding alone and with a camera in hand you do pretty good. Mean cows are as dangerous as bulls. It's understandable that you can run a marathon. I hope the price stays right for when you need it. Good video. Pax.

The 3 cows you sent to the sales is why I would never look for breeding stock at an auction. Your usually buying someone else's problem.
You’re correct. These were sold at a cull cow auction and preg checked open so they would have been going to a feed yard or straight to the processor. The local stockyards have a separate sale for replacements and breeding stock. Even then it can be risky unless it’s a herd sell out. Thanks for watching!
@@FarmandHammer about 75% of the cows i buy at the salebarn turn out to be great money making cows that i keep for several years and almost pay for theirself with the first calf. the culls go back to the sale and i usually stay and buy back as many as i took. i wont go buy $2,000 heifers off of someones farm thats a good way to go broke
Not in today's world with the Biden economy me and my friends have bought some awesome cows and sheep at auctions last time I bought 4 ewes in a group only one was crap and I sold her for meat for way more then I payed for her ..
