- I got a nice email today from a subscriber asking me why I stopped taking Wellbutrin (bupropion). I wanted to take the opportunity to share a little bit about my experience taking Wellbutrin the first time (300mg) and why I didn't fare well by combining it with caffeine!

SSRI is like a mother who hugs you and comforts you because your life is bad, Wellbutrin It's more like a father who demands that you solve your problems so that your life can improve.

I noticed for me - I only have been taking the Wellbutrin (150 mg) for a month (in addition to lexapro and adderall) is I eat a couple of espresso beans when/if I get tired. I also drink 1 cup of matcha everyday. My dr added the Wellbutrin because of the fatigue. My need for sleep has deceased from 8.5-9.5 hours down to 7 and I’ve been waking up on my own at 5a everyday. As much as I hate being a science experiment, it’s nice to start feeling like I’m coming out of the dark.

Sure, Danita! I'm the same. I started taking this after taking a drug with the total opposite effect (amitriptyline - for stomach problem). The difference has been very noticeable. That would have me out for 10 hours and feeling barely rested. With Wellbutrin I can rarely get more than 7 hours so that can be tiring also. But give me that anyway over feeling like I'm sleeping my life away. Wishing you continued success with the medication!

How do you get Adderall!! I have went to 4 different doctors they will not give it to me what symptoms do I have to fake to get my doctor to give it to me? I have used it once from a friend and that brought the best person out of me I never have been so happy in my life when I was on that.
@@asifmir3987 doctors don’t prescribe adderall, psychiatrists do and in order for a psychiatrist to prescribe it you have to have a neurological evaluation. It’s about a 12 hour process and it took 6 months for me to get an appointment for an assessment. It’s hard but you’ll get there. Find places that do neuro testing in your area - that’s step 1!
Great video! I’m on 150mg of Wellbutrin and noticed when I drink 2 cups of coffee I worry more.
For me the sensitivity is even stronger - I'll get anxious for a few hours after simply drinking a bottle of Coca Cola now (although I'm on 300mg) - whereas at some points in my life 4-6 coffees a day (or that much in pure caffeine from supplements) would have been pretty typical.
Same here. Also on 150mg. I cut caffeine out entirely for months and felt great. I recently reintroduced regular coffee and it was OK for a short time. I've gradually sunk back into periods of worry and anxiety, especially in the evening after I "crash".
Thank you for the video. I took Wellbutrin for a couple months and it was great but made my anxiety worse . I think it may have been the cup of coffee I was having with it . I’m def going to try again completely without caffeine .

Ive been on this for 2 weeks now I used to drink coffee for breakfast and all of a sudden stopped wanting to drink it

Im on 150 and not really feeling much. Been on it for 4 days now. Im taking it for my adhd i know they start low and work up but ive been told its like Adderall light. Has anyone had the reverse where it picks up with the focus and energy later instead of at the beginning and tapering off?
How do you feel now?
I just doubled my Wellbutrin dosage. Now it’s at 300 mg. I don’t feel any energy or stimulating effects at all. I drink 2-4 cups of coffee a day to try to pull me through. I have the heavy fatigue with my depression and ADD so I was hoping this would help. I got a couple good hours on day 4 but after that nothing.
It amazes me how different our brains are. Hope you find a med / combo that works.
@@DanielSRosehill it actually did start working! It just took a few days. It has started giving me energy and helping me wake up in the morning. I’m glad I stuck with it. It helps with my ADD as well.

I take wellbutrin and I'm tired a lot, have taken caffeine tablets while on it and it seemed to make no difference.
I’m currently on 20 mg of Lexapro and now started Wellbutrin also for my depression. Have you ever tried both together?
I'm on week 3 and found 150mg so helpful. It's the first one for me and wish I would have been more open to this years ago. I no longer ruminate negative work thoughts, work no longer controls my emotions, I sleep soundly and if I wake up, I'm able to fall asleep. I have to eat something before having coffee; otherwise, I don't have other adverse effects. I plan to continue taking this until I retire.
I'm on 150 mg. XL of Wellbutrin once daily. I drink a Coke which has some caffeine. I seem to get energy from Wellbutrin, and doe anyone experience energy increase without even drinking a Coke? Does Wellbutrin also keep you alert, and awake? I don't experience much of a difference, but I'm curious of what others have to say about Wellbutrin. Everyone is different.

My doctor did ask me about how much coffee I drank before putting me on Wellbutrin I start Monday
I take 150 SR Wellbutrin and a small dose of lexapro - I find it takes the edge off the anxiety that comes with the Wellbutrin for me.
Wellbutrin (Bupropion) caused me severe Tinnitus. It was debilitating and I had to stop after a week.
Caffeine does not interact well with this. :(
Im sooo tired from wellbutrin. Just started for adult adhd. I will keep taking it cause i need to see if it helps.

Question - have you been taking the 300 mg of wellbutrin together, or waited a few hours before taking a second pill?
I found that when I'm taking one, I'm still sleepy and unmotivated, so I've been taking it with 2 shots of espresso 😂 The second pill I'd take in about 3 hours (so 9 am 1 pill, around 1pm the second pill) Around 6pm I'd have another shot or 2 of espresso. The espresso keeps me moving, but the combo with the drug makes me kind of tense, which I don't like - even after a good workout i don't feel that euphoric and relaxed feeling like before.
Anyway, by 9pm I'd get tired and unmotivated again and would drink another 2 shots of espresso I go to sleep late these days, around 2am). Shortly after, I'd be unable to process info well (studying for a difficult exam), my thoughts would be racing...
I then told the psychiatrist about the issue and he prescribed me a mild sedative drug - gabantin, 100mg.
Unfortunately, despite the fix, I still have issues with the focus, but the doc doesn't believe I have an adhd.
Sometimes I think I would have been better off without taking anything... I also do agree this a much better option than am SSRI - I took Lexapro for about 4 months 5 years ago and that got me pretty depressed lol.
Hello! Haha. As much as your combo is crazy I can absolutely relate to it. I have no advice to offer other than to keep working with your doctor to figure out the root issue - getting to that will make figuring out the specifics of medication so much easier!

@@MsVilenanova Wellbutrin comes in 150mg and 300mg tablets. I took the 300mg tablets. So.... "all at once"!

So from what I gather from your videos, wellbutrin was just like vyvanse for you but without a comedown (24 hour effect)

Do you still drink decaf?
Caffeine and Wellbutrin horrible made me anxious and agitated.

Wellbutrin seemed to increase my level of energy and functionality from essentially the first dose, similar to an ADHD stimulant. The antidepressant effect, however, is supposed to take a little bit more time to build up. No sexual side effects. In fact after struggling with those on Lexapro, you could say that Wellbutrin got me back on track..!
The libido with this drug goes well up actually 🤭
I can’t concentrate w/o it and with coffee makes me sleepy lmaoo
