He's puerto rican, and that's Crazy Legs. He invented the windmill, and lots of other things guys do today, and he's older in this clip, but when he was younger you should've seen him. As for the "white kid" who is almost thirty, thus, not a kid, is Fever One of DVS and RSC, and he looks
"too slow" because all of them are not going full on in these clips. They're doing more of an instructional thing here in this footage, so people can learn, if they go full speed, it's harder to do that. Fever does go fast, but for this clip, they're going slow on purpose.
It's funny you mention the poets, haven't you heard about The Nuyorican Poets Cafe and how they influenced hip hop?? Miguel Pineiro, Pedro Pietri and all those cats were rapping in the 60's. And also The Last Poets, I think you know who they are, one of the original members was puerto rican, Felipe Luciano, I can recommend to you some fine books in the subject if you want to...
that question wasn't directed to you, and why would it be, this comment you made is the first comment you've made here, so how would I be asking you a question if I asked it before you even showed up in this comment log?
man people really need to learn some knowledge on here about their culture.. cant call yourselves bboys if you dont know your roots and why you are doing what you are doing.. and to the kid about rock steady crew being overrated lol if it wasnt for that crew many of you wouldnt be doing what you do today.. respect
First of all Dj Kool Herc is from Jamaica, and yeah, is obvious that black people were there from the begining, but also the puerto ricans, I mean, haven't you watched The Freshest Kids?? Or read all those books about the begining of hip hop?? Just to name a few boricuas: Crazy Legs, Ken Swift, Mr. Wiggles, Pop Master Fable, Rock Steady Crew, New York City Breakers, Lee, Dj Charlie Chase, T-Kid, etc. Hip Hop was invented by blacks and puerto ricans, all the dancing you do is a puertorican dance.
I loved the chick's footwork it was funky fresh. But the black guy wasn't that sweet... No aggresivness and determination in his moves. The white kid is also very good at footwork, but too slow and too nonagressively executed. Love .
