I remember this well. We always watched Spede-show with whole family.
Love your reactions! About the pronunciation of Spede, it starts by spe as in "spend" and ends with de as in "delve". :)
I give zero points to the creator of this video!. No comments are read in any of his videos. Arrogant underestimation of viewers!
Littlebit Monty Pythons crazy attitude there... after all fun in clever slow way. Painful and fun same time 😂
Together with Mauro, you are the best exponent of Finnis humor and music resounding. Mauro is from Italy
So stupid and yet so brilliant joke! Great!
Looking back at the later seasons of the Spede Show from 1984 to 1987, we're reminded of a simpler time in Finnish television. Back then, there were only two channels, TV1 and TV2, and MTV (which wasn’t the American music channel) had its own unique programming. Shows usually started around 5 to 6 p.m. The Spede Show really stood out as one of the few comedy shows on TV, and families often gathered around the TV to watch it together. Despite this, as far as I know, it wasn’t the kind of show that people talked about much at work the next day. At that time, the overall vibe of TV programming was quite serious. For example, it wasn't rare to see chess matches featuring Soviet grandmasters. The Spede Show offered a much-needed break from this seriousness with its unique humor.
Spede is a two syllable name, Spe as in spell and De as in demo. Spe-de. Not a huge deal but Speed just feels a bit weird to hear.
When I was 18 I went to the Casino in Helsinki and sat down at the roulette table, I placed my 1mk(~17snt) chips. Spede sat down next to me and started to place 1000mk chips like it was nothing.
It's not "speed show" it's "Sped E" show. That's how to pronounce it roughly..
One good Spede show sketch was how to articulate clearly. ( miten artikuloida selvästi. )
Masters of articulation. ( Artikuloinnin mestarit. )
