Emmy Rossum deserved an award for this show (I don't think she got one?) Cause even just the phrase "you were my mother too" has always and will always have me tearing up.

When Emmy Rossum’s face breaks when she says “You were my mother too” all I can see is a little child come out. It’s incredible how stellar the acting in this show was. The way they perfectly capture the pain of abandonment, neglect, abuse, and unhealed wounds in adolescence and adulthood will always amaze me.
Shameless is ridiculous and the situations and storylines can get so hilariously insane but then you get these moments that are so gut wrenching and emotional that it almost feels like you’re watching a completely different show. Especially when you have great talent like Emmy Rossum. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen that confrontation scene with Fiona and Monica, it always stings my eyes a bit. As you continue watching you’ll definitely see the other characters/co-stars acting chops as well. Super underrated cast.

I can’t explain it but I absolutely love your reaction to this show! And it always pains me to rewatch the Jimmy/Steve & Fiona relationship because it’s pretty toxic but the actors have SO much chemistry that’s it hard not to root for their relationship to succeed even during the bad times 😂
This episode, that scene in particular, has always been such an amazing strong point for Shameless

Steve lying about his name does make sense once you get he is a spoiled rich kid CHOOSING a life of crime. If no one knows his real name and things go wrong he can escape back to his real life and real identity. If no one knows his real name and where he's actually from no one can come looking for him if he chooses to go.

The Thanksgiving episode is gonna break you. Whether or not you like this character or others, this episode will hurt you… it leaves a mark. But I’m proud that this show did so. It’s a difficult episode but the emotion and the acting is so pure. It won’t disappoint.

you should do some for sure! :) I use Streamlabs to screen record while I watch, that way I can pause and not lose my spot.
If it's a downloaded episode (which is 99% of the time), I use VLC media player. So I use streamlabs to screen record VLC.
I edit with Vegas Pro 20... but I strongly recommend you use Premiere Pro or Davinci Resolve.
Vegas Pro sucks so much and CONSTANTLY has issues. almost every time I use it, there's an issue. the only reason I still use it, is because it takes a really long time to get used to editing on different programs. I am eventually going to switch to Premiere Pro when I have some time to get used to it! :)

Unfortunately not. The brother talks about how he has a wife and kids at home that he's stuck with while Steve gets to sleep with that girl. Likely she was a girl he was seeing before going off to college which his parents approved of and he just went long distance without breaking it off.

Its possible she was younger than that actually given we are told she is 13, 9 months of pregnancy, who knows how long to get pregnant, and her son isnt a newborn. 😢 I have a horrible suspicion the cult she came from might have had a rule that they wait till girls are 12 unless they get their period before that which they probably declare is "god showing they are ready."
If I where Veronica I would have called cultural appropriation on the social worker.
You and Veronica both would have have no right to do so. That way of speaking isnt race specific and just looking at a person is no indication of whether they come by their way of speaking and manorisms naturally. There are those raised "in the hood" as was said in the reaction but also if we are bringing race into it the phrase "white passing" exists for a reason and there are people raised by parents/foster parents/stepparents who are a different race to them.
When someone calls a character who is blatantly and canonically bi a gay person it boils my blood. Worse when a lgbt member does it.
that whole scene with fiona talking about what she has done and how the kids are doing. always makes me cry. Fiona has such a great ugly crying face.
Monica like Frank is an interesting character to explore but they are horrible people.
