One of the best serve videos of the many dozens I've seen, Kevin! Your presentation of achieving proper rotation and of pronation are exceptionally clear and practical. Also, I appreciate your slowing down your speech a bit. I would only suggest that you consider keeping your videos around 8 minutes, maximum. I find that beyond that I have to divide up the content into in a couple of portions in order to absorb and practice what's there. It would be simpler for viewers to have two videos to do that for them. Thanks.

Ok, I have watched enough tennis instructional videos to be able to say that, in my opinion, Kevin is by far the best instructor here! His explanations are really excellent, to the point focusing on things that actually make a difference. I have learned so much in a short time. Thank you, Kevin! Keep it up :)

I've watched lots of serve tutorials and tried so many different things but this video has transformed my serve. It's the 'put it on top of the fridge' that did it for me. When I think of that motion when I serve it all falls into place. It kind of makes me laugh too and makes me think of going to the fridge when I get home from tennis. Thanks for a great tutorial I'm serving soooo much better now!

Thank you very much Kevin.... for years I was looking for an answer why I could not have the serve i wanted... I know the mechanics of pronation being a medical person but I just can't find the answer to why ?..... with your current video I finally found out... that my right elbow holding the racket is not high enough after tossing the ball and being 74 yo, it hurts my hips when i rotate to hit up on the ball with the internal rotation of my shoulder ... but with raised higher Right shoulder with the left arm toss, it doesn't hurt now when i rotate my hips after extending my left arm when I toss the ball..... now I think I can serve better.......

Hey Kevin! I found your channel. I just came back home after practicing my serve for 2 hours and not being too happy about it, thinking that the best serve is a flat powerful serve as I see the guys doing at my club. When I try my flat serve I either hit the net or hit the back fence. And when I hit a kick serve they all fall inside the service box. I wish I had watched this video before and be able to understand what I’m doing. Great tips! I can’t wait to go out again and put this tips into practice. Thank you for this video

I ask why not simplify the serve for mere mortal rec playsrs? Forget disguise, placement, kick, and max power. Give the rec player the tools to put the ball in play CONFIDENTLY.
My suggestion is skip the trophy pose chest facing the back fence. Go directly back to the backscratch position as you toss then use a catapult swing forward with pronation. Let the ball toss location add the spin. Rec players naturally want to face the net/service box. This technique lets them while still using the continental grip. Imagine the Sampras overhead smash with no jump and slower mere mortal racket head speed.

Great video. I have issues with my ball toss when I rotate my shoulders. The toss goes from right to left and behind me.
My question is when do you release the ball toss? How do I achieve the shoulder rotation and still get the toss out in front?

When rotating, is your tossing arm moving parallel to the baseline to lift the ball up? It's certainly something that be easier to do in order to rotate. However, the J toss is hard to get right
