    As white I have been stereotyped. I have always been a good person but used to dress in concerts shirts for metal and had black hair and piercings and tattoos. I have been followed around stores watching to see if I would steal, been searched by police for no reason, and as a young mother I had people comment on my ability to be a mother because of how I looked. It was sad. Im a good mom and at the time my husband was fighting in Iraq. My point is you can't judge a book by its cover, and we can have different opinions and still be able to have civil discussions and walk away friends.

      the stigma of how you look fucked my life up for years, im a single dad to 2 amazing girls, but there mother (who ran off as soon as they were born) started spreading rumours in my hometown that i was molesting my daughters, and for 10 years i had to deal with harassment, police call outs, and violence that got so out of hand i needed brain surgery as a result of it. i nearly died because being a single dad has a disgusting stigma attached to it. people need to grow up and stop judging people on fake news

    I was born in 1979, so the tail end of Generation X and the Beginning of Gen Y (Millenial). My generation grew up fully integrated with other races and cultures. I was also a military brat, so I was immersed with other cultures as well. I attended local public schools wherever I lived. The vast majority of my peers and I didn’t care about skin color. We just wanted friends. It’s dang near broken my soul to see my country, the country I served, the country I swore to defend with my blood and my life, become segregated again. I blame the political elite....the ones who have been in politics their whole lives, yet people keep voting for them. I blame the media for feeding us bs stories or slanting their “reporting” to push some ulterior motive. Were black people enslaved, freed, and still treated horribly? Absolutely. My challenge to people when they say “slavery was brought to the America in 1619” is this....who brought them here? Who sold them? Who captured them? The British, French, and Spanish. Tribes in Africa traded slaves for guns, booze, and other valuables. I’m NOT defending this! The US was established in 1787. (The adoption of the Constitution was 1787...we declared Independence in 1776 from Great Britain.). 89 years after we became a country we ended slavery. We killed over 500,000 of our own countrymen for this. My ancestors fought to end slavery. They were Conductors, soldiers. I tell you this because I love my country, and ALL citizens. Period. The US is not perfect. No country is. But we are one of the youngest countries in the world. Yet we have come so far. We don’t hide from our history. We put it out there for the whole world to see. If we could just come together as one nation, under God, than we will become that shining city on the hill for others to aspire to be.

      thank you i couldn't say it like you. but that's what i've been feeling. generation x just a little bit older. sure races were there. but it wasn't a big deal. and yes the history of slaves goes much deeper than america. i feel offended when i'm called a racist because i'm white and voted for trump. and yes many of my family fought in the war and helped free slaves. but they are now being taught that the north tried to keep them enslaved. i don't know why the older generations didn't catch this and teach them the truth and stop the gov from letting this get turned around.

Hell my grandma on mom's side was from the south, no one and I mean no one comes close to her cooking than a Black friend of mine who makes soul food because they are essentially the same foods. I was thinking that myself. Not saying there were not racists of course there were, and there were problems, but in general all acorss the EU no one cared, then boom overnight it seemed it was such a huge huge huge issue. I honestly think it was the republicans and democrats fighting to get the black vote in america that stirred it all up all across the EU cause we consume their music and media so much. I live in Ireland where the cops dont even have guns, and BLM were out asking for our cops to be defunded. Eventually that hostility ended up with a black person dead confronting the police with a knife. Thats how good American media is at making you angry, someone thousands of miles away, not even american, getting angry at local police for something they didnt do. Its scary how the media can affect us. I understand his anger at what happened but swinging a knife at the local police who dont even carry guns and have never in their history killed a black person. I can only imagine how angry americans closer to the real problem feel, it must feel like a war in their head.

      Actually yes. Breeding with each healthy member of a race does have benefits. Each are genetically superior in small ways. People with strong African in them can fight malaria better due to the shape of their cells. Some people in a specific mountain region (can’t remember exact one) have better adapted to higher elevations and altitudes. Some people living in a small tribe that feed on mostly fish have developed better eyes to see clearer in the water. So beautifully diverse, unique and similar!

    I love your channel, which I discovered about ten minutes ago. That is one day after I discovered Tom MacDonald's music, which I love. The reason is that he is absolutely honest about things that need to be said. I don't want to look at people based on race, sex, etcetera but the media is constantly trying to force us to do exactly that. We are all people, period. It is hard to see or appreciate that simple fact when we are constantly told that we aren't "people" but "black people" and "white people", at the same time as they do their best to stir up trouble between us. It's like they tied two cats together by the tail and threw them over the clothesline to see which kills the other first. It is sadistic to divide people like this, and Tom MacDonald and you two also, seem to appreciate that fact. It gives me hope for the country to see MacDonald's videos AND your reaction to them.
    And BTW, I don't see anything blasphemous about his use of the cross. I do appreciate that he never swears in his videos.

    Being a Trump supporter, you guys had the best breakdown I’ve heard on “No Lives Matter”...best reaction videos I’ve seen...and this video was nothing but truth. Being white and a Trump supporter I have been called nazi, racist, klan member etc more than I can count...and it is nice to see people who understand the difference between a white person and a racist...and being white I can never understand what black people have gone through throughout the history of this country, I can only be open to having the discussion, which I am open to having it with anyone..none of us can change the past, but every one of us can take it and make sure we don’t repeat it..brand new sub here and I’m going through all of your videos and love them all! God bless y’all and keep it up 🙏

    The reason I like Tom is cause he’s an independent artist. So he doesn’t have someone else telling him what he can or cannot say. Idk if this helps. But I’m white, I live in a small town in the Midwest. It’s predominantly white. But we have Hispanics, blacks, and Asians. All are treated with respect here. I’ve never seen someone treated differently because of their skin. And that’s the way it should be. At the end of the day we are all people just trying to survive.

    57 yr old white woman here. Right after I turned 50 I found out I was adopted. Started doing research on my birth family and my adopted family. Guess what I found. Both had fought for the freedom from slavery. My birth family were Amish and Mennonite and risked their lives in the Underground Railroad getting people to freedom. My adopted family, who were southern by birth, fought for the Yankees. I was raised in a Christian home to treat everyone with respect and dignity, which I pray I have always done. It's broken my heart for decades to see how the powers that be keep us divided. I also never liked rap music (generational music differences) until I heard Tom. First, beautiful family! : ) my thing is we’re in the hardest/stickiest part of race relations in this country right now. Virtually everything in law is equal now, so now we’re in a phase where we can’t just march and protest and just “change” something over night. We have to be patient and keep loving both sides to slowly work through people’s hearts and what’s left of “racism” (which it will never fully go away). There’s nothing we can just make better overnight anymore, so tensions are going to be really high for a while I think. Hope I made sense. Thanks for the reaction.

We all shed blood, sweat and tears in the same mud, all fighting for the idea that this country had when it was founded, that ALL people are created equal and deserve equal rights. Somewhere along the way we lost that path and a lot of terrible things happened to innocent people, and it will take ALL of us to work together to get back on the path but the only way for this to happen is to stop the hate and division between us.

  • @kennethslayor8177
    @kennethslayor8177 Před 3 lety +4

    In ancient days the term race was used to identify the descendants of a particular person. So, the Race of Eric, the Race of Brian. There was a belief that your nature was inherited, so if your father was a criminal, then you are a criminal of the same nature. That belief was embedded in law. Children, grandchildren, etc. could be held liable for the crimes of their ancestors. In parts of the third world today that same principle is used to render widows and orphans slaves as repayment for the debts left by their deceased fathers and husbands. For several generations, one clan (McGregor) was outlawed - it was illegal to be exist if you were one of them.
    This is something I can understand a little differently. Up until 1976 it was legal in the state where I was born to kill me because of the religion into which I was born. President Carter told Missouri if they didn't take Missouri Executive Order 44, also known as the Mormon Extermination Order, off the books they would get no Federal funding from his administration. I was 9 years old when it ceased to be legal to kill me.
    The Founding Fathers opposed this kind of law. Previously, it was called a Bill of Attainder. Such a bill when enacted into law allowed someone or a class or type of people to be sentenced to death without a trial. Another practice of the old world was Ex Post Facto laws; this is where a law is passed prohibiting something that up until that moment was legal, but then they prosecute you for something you did when it was legal for you to do it. So, before the Constitution it was legal to make a law sentencing you to death for something an ancestor of yours did - even if what they did was legal at the time they did it.
    In Article I, Section 9, Clause 3 of the Constitution it states: "No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed." Holding a person accountable for the crimes of others, of their ancestors, for things that individual never did is specifically contrary to our Constitutional principles. Every person is supposed to be responsible only for what they themselves have done. Social justice, the holding of people as guilty based on their immutable and inherited characteristics (color, sex, ethnicity, religion, etc.) is specifically the opposite of Constitutional justice.
