✈️ that was lovely of you to help the woman’s and her son! Volaris can definitely be a pain. IDK why, but we keep going back to them when we fly to Mexico from Tijuana. We’re fortunate enough to not have had an awful experience with them yet.
they have essential routes more often than other airlines and well they are often the most affordable option but then they feel like they have the right to screw you. It sucks. I hope you never experience what we did!
That’s a terrible experience at CDMX. Thanks for sharing. On a positive note, I have the Volaris annual pass and I’ve used it 4 times already. Flying international and haven’t had any bad issues with it. Cheers to you guys
Thank you for this video… I will be using this to file my complaint with Volaris and as prove to my credit card company that the problems I’ve been having with Volaris are real, accurate and not made up!
This stroy had me hooked all the way till the end 👀💀 So glad you guys stood your ground - just like you said, it seems a little too convenient that they now need to charge penalties 😑 That mom is so lucky to have met you two, I couldn't imagine how stressed out she must have been 😢 Great video guys 👏 And I LOVE your shirt Jenny 😍🇲🇽
haha glad you enjoyed the video! we enjoyed the reenacting 😅 and we would have wanted someone to take care of our mom if it was her in that situation, too. I love my shirt too 🤗 got it in Veracruz
The whole country depends on these two ULCC's VOI and VIV. I've had some awful experiences as well as some good ones. You will find VIV always has shorter lines than VOI, except in Monterrey where they are the hometown carrier. Best thing you can do is document everything from taking screenshots, recording videos and even purchasing with a US credit card (fast, better customer service and easy return of bad payments). You did a great job standing up and knowing your rights, but this is Mexico and I'm not sure how useful PROFECO is. The airline is also expanding its network really soon as it has achieved FAA category 1 and they are hiring pilots, flight attendants and ground staff much faster with less requirements. So count on customer service standards going down. This airline knows its power in Mexico and there is no incentive to improve. The revived Meixcana sounds like a savior, but its network and fleet is too small to compete. Great video exposing this airline! I am an aviation journalist covering LatAm and I will definitely reach out to you guys again. Saludos!
Hola hola fue un gusto conocerlos son muy lindas personas!! Gracias por hospedarnos en su departamento el día que perdimos el vuelo Mex- Cancún por la misma situación.
@EatBailaTravel Claro! My best friend in NYC recently had a perfect stranger take her and her 2 cats in for the night in an epic Airbnb fail. I was so grateful!
Smug Kevin is a good fit. I need to see more of his acting in this channel lol My parents got the annual pass, we used it once already and are booking again this week. Hopefully they will be 2/2 in good experiences.
I have always flew with Volaris and Viva and also never experienced any issues, HOWEVER I know many people that have experienced situations like yours. I am so happy you stood your ground because best believe I would have done the same thing! Good job on advocating for yourself. They cannot take advantage of people. It is crazy.
Volaris is affordable but it does add up at the end with you carryon , check in luggage, seat ect… but you guys are awesome to help out the lady and her son.❤
Thank you for this interesting video. My conclusion is to avoid that airline. Period. The old rule is still valid: you get what you pay for, and sometimes even less. Usually I fly American or United to Mexico and haven't had any problems yet.
yea, there's also a saying in Spanish "lo barato sale caro" which means essentially the same as what you just said (maybe you speak spanish and already know this saying! 😁)
We have traveled via Volaris and Viva Aerobus and we have never had any problems. We try to arrive earlier than recommended for both domestic and international problems. We always take into consideration the multitude of people, the size and the layout of the airport, holidays, and other factors that may delay the boarding process. I am glad that everything worked out fine. What I have learned when traveling is that the rules/policies are different in every country and that entitlement in one country may not suffice in another country. This is something I always try to take into consideration.
You’re smart for allowing extra time when flying with these airlines! I admire your respect for potential cultural differences. To me, corporate abuse is distinct from culture.
I dislike Volaris because of all that you mentioned and am surprised they aren’t being investigated. Kuddos to both of you for taking care of the woman & her son. You were her angels on Earth ❤
I wonder what we can do to have them investigated? 🤔 after all this I'm honestly willing to do more to make real changes to their operation. And thanks for the kuddos, but honestly that woman could have been my mom or tía..
Ustedes demuestran ser mejores seres humanos que los de Volaris. It was nice of both of you to help this mom and son after the employees didn’t really care about them. I'm not surprised at all because I just went through something similar with Volaris and Viva Aerobus in Cancun. They show no compassion to customers and not even willing to help find other options. Sorry you both had to deal with this drama.
y'all seriously need to do more drama/chisme story. it's entertaining asl, and you're both good story tellers. Also a little critic, would be nice if y'all engaged with your subscribers/commenters by occasionally liking/replying. You're a small channel but it shows little appreciation and slightly outta touch. do what you want but just my opinion cause I would love to see you guys grow
Update: just saw some other videos and you guys already do this. Plus i based it off this video posted 4hrs ago 💀💀So nvm 😂My apologies. you guys are doing great 👏
Hehe all good! We do usually try to respond as quickly as we can, but I'm sick with a cold so I slept in this morning and Kevin is watching the Bears game... LOL
Great informational video!! I'm supposed to be traveling to Mexico and I'm so lost on booking this flight 😅 I've used volaris YEARS ago and it wasn't complicated from what I recall hopefully it all goes smoothly this tine too but it definitely is more nerve-wracking as I will be traveling with two kids this time. Pray for me lol
Good on you Jenny these big companies do not give a toss & walk over you if they can. Well Kevin what can I say......I peed myself laughing, you make a great airport/airline supervisor!😂 As for looking after that lady & her son sending you big hugs...so beautiful♥

I had an awful experience with Volaris in 2019. I had a flight from Tijuana to CDMX with a connection in Monterey. The flight was delayed for hours. The worst part is that Valaris couldn't give any information when the flight would resume. If you want to avoid headaches and incompetence, the pass isn't worth it.
Thanks for the break down on the Volaris Pass! It was hugely helpful to know. After my experience with the " Volaris travel voucher aka coupon" I wouldn't pay for any additional products they offer for the examples and experiences that you shared - tech issues, additional fees, non-existent customer service, and predatory fees, etc. As much as a love a deal, have y'all been able to use the pass since then? How has it worked out for you both after this incident? Lastly, that was incredibly amazing that you banded together to collectively advocate so no passenger was left behind!
We haven't tried to use it since. Well, except for buying another trip back to Mexico City 24 hours later. That went fine. This incident was a couple of weeks ago. And we will continue to use it but now more cautiously knowing how low they're willing to go when it comes to customer service, we'll be prepared for the worst.
Damn so nice of you guys to help that lady! Also damn that pass sounds sketchy. I see that it might be worth it, but its basically a discounted service that they try to cheat you out of i guess. :(
@EatBailaTravel hmm. That could be true. It's a shame though. I thought about getting a similar pass, but decided it left too many unanswered questions. I hope it works out for you guys in the end. The tips provided sound useful!
I’m hoping that we’ll be able to stay one step ahead of them from now on now that we know what kind of BS they tend to pull. Unless they surprise us with something new 😅
✈️ 🛩 I looked into Frontier's passes a while ago. They have similar conditions, but the one you really have to watch out for is automatic renewal usually at double the price they sucked you in with at the start. You have to make sure you go in and turn that off. In this case you might want to make sure you use a credit card instead of a debit card so you can challenge it that way in you have to.
We’ve been in that situation a couple of times before the worst one was when we got stuck in Cartagena during covid. The hotel where we stayed took us and we felt so grateful.
So sorry for your experience. There customer service a few years back was awful. I have had volaris annual pass for 1 yr now. Also pay 350 p/yr and having run into any troubles.
I have the pass and am satisfied with it. It's much better for GDL residents because GDL's airport is much more efficient than MEX's airport. Still easy to make my gate even if I arrive at the GDL airport only 45 minutes prior, as long as I checked in online via the app. Amazing I can go from curb to gate in reliably 10 minutes flat, GDL is (relatively) efficient in comparison, especially if I use the less busy northernmost security entry (the one closest to the roundabout). My average is arriving 1 hour prior. GDL is also a major Volaris hub, and is probably the best big airport in Mexico for annual pass holders, which also makes it good for gringos & digital nomads of Ajijic & Lake Chapala & Guadalajara, in addition to locals who fly often. The satisfaction rating of the pass is much higher for GDL users than for MEX users.
I’m sorry that happened it’s horrible. That happens a lot. We had the same problem and had bought front seats for my disable 85 year mom and didn’t awarded our paid front seats and sent my mom and me to the back of the plane in separate seats my mom needed assistance. After fighting for about three months to get the refund. They gave my mom a 63 dollar voucher to her name good for 30 days. My mom couldn’t use that voucher and couldn’t change it to my name even though I booked and paid for the tickets 🤬😡
WOW. That's horrible. They really do NOT care about people as human beings. I'm to believe they really couldn't honor a paid seat for a disabled elderly woman? That's just BS.
You guys are extraordinary people. THANK YOU for helping out there other families. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this half-axx airline. You should try Mexicana. Saludos from California.
We can’t stand corporate abuse and these people very well could have been our own families. I do want to try Mexicana actually! Airlines need more competition since they can improve their quality. Thanks for you comment. Saludos!
4:04 "This is going to be the counter. I'm going to do a dramatic reenactment. Kevin's going to be the bad guy. It's going to be great." I bust out laughin'! 🤣😂🤣😅😆
I got the pass too on the pre-sale. I've used it alot. I havnt had any issues but I get at the airport 3+ hours ahead of time. My app has issues half the time but since I'm early I get hooked up.
Thank you for sharing, guys! Indeed frustrating 🤯. So nice of you to help the lady with her son. Keep us posted how the pass worked for you over the year. Btw do they speak English? Wonder what if a passenger does not know Spanish enough to be able to argue with them 🤔.
The Volaris staff based in the US speaks perfect English and the Volaris staff in Mexico City speaks some English though not perfectly. Volaris staff in the rest of Mexico you never know.
I just would like to say that this happens evewhere, last week my son got 1 hr early to the airport here in the USA,it took a long time to get to check in,and he lost his plane. Of course they told him that it was his fault for not being there earlier!! He fought for his $$ or to get a new ticket....speak up people!! Thanks for sharing. ❤🙏
Hey guys, thank you so much for making this video! I had got the v-pass round trip and was thinking about canceling that membership for the v-pass. After watching this video, I will stick with the v-pass! The major deal breaker is you can only book flights 24 hours in advance. That is a major deal breaker because Volaris is known to overbook flights! Especially places such as Cancun.
Yep and that’s exactly what happened to us in this video. They overbooked a flight and shut down check in to control their mess and then tried to screw us.
I had a totally different experience when I missed one flight last September. I was traveling from tijuana to cancun. I forgot to check in and didn't remember about it till I was heading to the airport. Unfortunately I had no data. When I got to the airport it was too late to check in. I eventually went to the desk and they rebooked me on the next flight without charging me. I was surprised, expecting that I was going to pay something. Nope. Just handed me the new ticket and off I went. I do speak Spanish and try to make them laugh so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
A couple years ago when I lived in Cali, I had the Vclub cuz I would often buy $200 trips to Costa Rica. Never had an issue there and customer service was great. Whenever I use Voalris to Mexico and back to Chicago, I get a crappy experience almost every time. This last time I was charged an additional $50 using the Volaris annual pass that I noticed on my statement later. After multiple phone calls, I gave up trying to fight it.
Guadalajara is crappy service and when I fly out of L. A is always decent. Just in Mexico, they get attitude. I actually just had my last flight with them. Only because it was booked months in advance. I'm just going to pay extra and actually fly with an American airline.
That stinks. I am going to write complaints every chance I get (and where appropriate, not that I'm going to make stuff up). They are fine sometimes, but assholes most of the time.
Yup. These are the normal tactics from budget airlines now. I looked into Frontier Airlines annual pass and it’s exactly the same as you said of Volaris. I bought a $40 ticket and THEY cancelled the flight and charged me $100 rebook fee for this. Had to pay as I was stuck and needed to get home. I wouldn’t bother with Volaris annual pass as I feel as long as it’s off season you are only paying the taxes and airport fees anyways and if it was during the season they will have limited, if any, flights available.
I love your top, Jenny. No, I would not have paid, what BS. Good for you, Jenny, fighting for yourself and the other woman, I would have made a scene if necessary, I don't have the patience for that nonsense. How nice that you let the woman and her son spend the night, you guys are awesome, thanks for sharing!
That's a good deed in the karma bank! Tha pass would be great and would be a good deal if you could actually get on a flight. For international flights it makes sense, but domestic flights are only @ $70, so I don't see a great savings for the hassle, and it sounds like a guaranteed middle seat. Thanks for the heads up! I'll pass on the pass I wouldn't pay, I'd just rebook on whatever flight was leaving next to an interesting place that still had seats available (you said flexible!). If they bounce you from a flight that's on them, and though they want to charge you for being late to a flight you had a reservation for, they can't charge you to check into another flight within the 24 hour window.
I keep hearing these horror stories about Volaris so I prepare for the worst, but so far we have had nothing but good experiences. They even gave us vouchers allowing us to rebook for free when we had to reschedule a return flight due to a medical issue, despite having bought the cheapest non-refundable tickets (they were probably happy to resell our seats for more than we paid). Meanwhile we have experienced problems with every US carrier we have flown in recent years. At least the US carriers pay YOU if they overbook!
I wish I could say I am shocked at your experience, but... last time I took Volaris I was at the airport more than 2 hours ahead and was the last one onboard. The lines are always crazy long and the airport in CDMX is super confusing. The signage is terrible. You were so kind to help the woman from Puebla and her son! I think I will pass on this Volaris deal 😉
Good job not backing down! I would say learn the aviation rules in Mexico. They have to reimburse you when it’s their fault. I got bumped from a flight because they said I didn’t check in online, but I did because they sure did have my money for my extra luggage I was checking (this was Aeromexico, BTW) so they gave my seat to someone else, meanwhile my friend who I was traveling with, who speaks no Spanish had to fly back to CDMX alone, w/o me. I was livid! Made the biggest stink ever and they gave me $400 USD. I lost an entire day though and that is nonrefundable.
So weird I have flown back and forth from CUN to TIJ like 8 times with this pass with no problems and not even pay for my carry on and backpack. I've been living in PDC for 5 years and I'm super flexible when traveling. I'm trying to get my girfriend to come to TIJ tomorrow but there's no flights yet. Thanks for the video!
whaaat you got a free carry on using this pass?? Was it automatically added when you booked or did you just show up with your carry on and they didn't say anything? I'm glad you've been able to use it and it's gone well! Hope we can be as lucky as you in the next times we use it 🙏🏽
Wow…. This videos makes me think of our trip to Guanajuato a couple years ago with vivo aerobus. 🤦🏻♀️ We spent a night in Mexico City airport. It was rough… and very cold lol
Gracias for having a big heart and showing empathy. It says a lot about your character. ❤ To them, we are all expendable because these airlines are only about the money without any consideration for the human side of traveling. Overbooking is the result of unregulated capitalism. Saludos!
Thank you for the useful information, as for me I will choose to not patronage Volaris at all, I do not like companies that try to screw their customers
I would have gone torpedo Karen on them and thrown Better Business Bureau lingo and god knows what else to scare the crap out of them! Due to my profession, it is not convenient for me to get the annual pass, but this is all great information to know. Thank you for the video! :) Saludos from a traveler that can only take Volaris since they are the only ones that fly direct from Chicago to Morelia.
So, if you can't check-in via their app what does the ticket says? It says to be show up two hours before your flight. I have the Volaris Annual Pass and It have never had any issues. This Pass is for people that are flexible, meaning that you can book a flight within 72 hours. I don't recommend this past for people that are not flexible and also means showing up to the airport earlier, specially flighting from MEX to CUN.
You are experienced travelers. Mexico City is the second worst airport in the world and is ridiculously busy. Be there 2 hours prior to departure minimum.
As experienced travelers, we figured 1 hour and a half arrival for a domestic flight during low season with only a personal item should be enough time at any airport. But now knowing how scammy they are, looks like we’re going to have to give more of our time to stay one step ahead 😏
Never had a problem with Volaris but only ever traveled Tijuana to Morelia. But you missing the flight was your fault. If I notice the websites is down you know I’m leaving early I’d rather wait at the airport then deal with customer services. At the same time employees should know that theres an outage and it’s shouldn’t have been that hard to wave the fees.
You make a good point. We should have gotten there earlier once we saw the website was down. We’ve learned more about their shady operations and how to avoid them since this day.
A year with the annual pass and I had no issues ...Ana at Lax was kinda rude..but we all have our bad days. So far I can't say any bad things about VOLARIS..
Waao such a nightmare! I was in the same situation, I booked one night before and in front of the desk they told me that the fly was oversold but the difference is that they booked for me another fly to the same day and gave me a coupon with 6000 mxn for the inconveniences
I feel like this sums up Mexico in one frustrating video! When I was getting my residency, I flew from St. Louis to Phoenix for my appointment at the Consulate. The lady I needed to see was sick. "Nobody" else could help me (so, apparently, she trained herself when she got hired??). There were no apologies. All they kept saying is I would have to come back, as if I lived around the corner. I asked, "Will you be paying for another flight and hotel?" They just stared at me. Then, it took 5 trips to the bank to open an account (b/c they like to withhold information and only tell you one piece of information at a time) and 4 trips to CFE so far to try to get electric hooked up to my house (we'll see when/if that happens). Everyone sends you in circles and doesn't take responsibility.
To get CFE can take months, it's rediculous. We were told by our Realtor to pay a "fee" or we'd have to wait. I found out later the "fee" was split between her and the CFE guy, it was just a bribe and totally illegal. I really didn't know.
oh my gosh, how frustrating but also unfortunately common!! 🙄 haha I'm glad you said that about paying your flight/hotel. We just gotta be smarter than these people and wake them up so they can do their jobs.
I bought this pass a week ago and haven't found a single flight available either from my city to Guadalajara (the only option from my city) or from Guadalajara to anywhere else. Or anything period! It's possible that flights are limited to dia de los muertos. It's a little deceptive because if you're not using the pass there are still tickets available to buy, so obviously all seats are not available for the pass. Regarding check in. They force you to check in because they want to try to charge you for your baggage if possible. It's not that the app is down.
Not yet! But we will try at some point. Will be interesting to see. Airlines need more competition to improve their quality. At least that’s what I hope happens.
Thank you guys for sharing this great story. VOLARIS SUCKS!! Unfortunately they are the only airline to fly to certain destinations in Mexico and we have no other option but to put up with them. They definitely take advantage of people and charge for everything. Again VOLARIS SUCKS!!!
I noticed that their web site is very glitchy. I had to try several times to purchase tickets to fly from PE to Mexico City in January. Thanks for the heads up about checking in on line (or at the airport). Meanwhile - I am still waiting for my refund from Aero Mar ... which I will never see.
Lol, they are jerks. I could never chech-in through the app and then they want to charge me 15 bucks to do my check in. I wish they could be sued. I also have the annual pass and right now at this moment the website is not letting me sign in when I want to fly tomorrow and the reason I could book my flight before is cause annual pass doesn't allow🤷
Dang! Make sure to reach out to them as soon as possible. We have gotten better at using the pass, we might actually make video to share tips and how we use it.
Volaris has been very, very good to me. I have both the v.pass and the Annual Pass. However, as you unfortunately have learned the hard way, their website and other customer service is something out of a bad horror movie. I don't go to the airport unless I have a printed copy of my boarding pass in hand. Bring your own food and water because the food is really bad and the water is expensive. On the plus side, their flight attendants are great and if you get and use the Invex credit card, they waive the baggage fees for baggage. Vivan Mexico y Volaris! (Cramped seats and all.)
it is an actual scam. I actually took two flights. One from Fresno to Guadalajara and another from Mexico city to Guadalajara. Neither time did the app work. At the hotel or in the airport.
Where i do have issues in my mexico is the damn car rental places. Now that's a fight when they try to charge you more 😅. My inner Pancho villa comes out. Jenny from the block lmfao 😅😅😅
I’ve flown with volaris several times without issues. Since you only paid TUA and tax, what you had to do is file in for a reimbursement since you didn’t take the flight and they are obligated to give it back by mexican regulations. And since you have the annual pass you just should have booked a new flight.
Vivaaerobus is way better than Volaris in airplanes, service, punctuality and price the majority of times, but this annual feels like a great deal for me.
@@EatBailaTravel I just discovered that their webpage does not have a password recovery feature. I tried twice with the wrong password, then I had to go through my notes, typed the right password and they locked me out. I dont know for how long. They are doing everything to avoid fulfilling their obligation!
All of the three major airlines in Mexico are nominal at best. The problem is the average flyer and more so in Mexico wants the cheapest ticket and so they get poor customer service. I often wonder if there was a good Mexican airline if it would dominate the airline industry. I know I am willing to pay a little bit more to avoid some of the common annoyances. For example I almost always pay the extra 15 usd to pick my seat and get priority boarding.
I guess that would have saved some of the stress and headache but I refused to let them do that to everyone else who’d been standing behind us. Many Mexicans don’t use credit cards, they use debit and getting that cancelled would probably not have been an option.
You both have huge hearts! You stood up for yourselves and others, that's very admirable! Wishing you the best!
It's the best we could do!
That’s a terrible experience at CDMX. Thanks for sharing. On a positive note, I have the Volaris annual pass and I’ve used it 4 times already. Flying international and haven’t had any bad issues with it. Cheers to you guys
and I hope it continues that way for you! And then for us 😅
I was doing research on the airline and came across your video. Thank you for sharing your story!!
Good on you for doing research! Happy travels ✈️
Thank you for saving me from the Volaris scam.
🫡 happy travels!
🛩️❌⚠️‼️ Loved the reenactment!! Perfect way to tell the story 😃👍
Glad you enjoyed it! We had fun re-enacting lol
Thank you for this video… I will be using this to file my complaint with Volaris and as prove to my credit card company that the problems I’ve been having with Volaris are real, accurate and not made up!
Aww I love that you were able to help that mom with her son. Crappy situation but at least it had a happy ending :)
yea, after all that rage finally settled, we were able to enjoy the evening together, which I'm thankful for 🫶🏽
This stroy had me hooked all the way till the end 👀💀 So glad you guys stood your ground - just like you said, it seems a little too convenient that they now need to charge penalties 😑 That mom is so lucky to have met you two, I couldn't imagine how stressed out she must have been 😢 Great video guys 👏 And I LOVE your shirt Jenny 😍🇲🇽
haha glad you enjoyed the video! we enjoyed the reenacting 😅 and we would have wanted someone to take care of our mom if it was her in that situation, too. I love my shirt too 🤗 got it in Veracruz
It is generous of both of you to have offered this family your hospitality ❤
we would have hoped the same if it was our mom out there in need ❤️
Very nice that you guys helped the lady and the other passengers. ✈️
We were a team! If felt so good to be united imagine how much more we can do together. Saludos!

✈️ love you two!! How lovely of you to give that family a beautiful experience and thank you for the Volaris pass pros & cons. Very helpful😘♥️
I'm sure others would have done the same! If it was my mom, I'd be thankful to whomever looked after her.
@EatBailaTravel Claro! My best friend in NYC recently had a perfect stranger take her and her 2 cats in for the night in an epic Airbnb fail. I was so grateful!

My parents got the annual pass, we used it once already and are booking again this week.
Hopefully they will be 2/2 in good experiences.
I hope so, too!! changuitos que no se pasen de verg 🤞🏽 lol y el Kevin se lució en este video verdad
✈️ please keep us updated on how it continues to go with the pass! Great video!
we will definitely be making another review video once our year is up.. we'll see how it goes in the meantime!

More confirmation that you two are the nicest people. Your rooftop looks great! I am going to make sure I stay on Jenny’s good side!
haha good idea, Chris! 😈🤗🫶🏽
We have traveled via Volaris and Viva Aerobus and we have never had any problems. We try to arrive earlier than recommended for both domestic and international problems. ✈❌ Watched it all the way to the end, and let the adds play.😉 We appreciate You(tubers) sharing a real life experience-it's refreshing.🥂
It's the only way to not mislead people!
U r right, unfortunately it’s the best way to fly from pvr to tij. Having said that I think someone should sue the heck out of them!😊
Totally agree
So glad I found that this page!
We're glad, too! ☺🙏
y'all seriously need to do more drama/chisme story. it's entertaining asl, and you're both good story tellers.
Thank you for a great story and not giving up. ✈❌
Thank you for watching! 🫶🏻

I had an awful experience with Volaris in 2019. I had a flight from Tijuana to CDMX with a connection in Monterey. The flight was delayed for hours. The worst part is that Valaris couldn't give any information when the flight would resume.
If you want to avoid headaches and incompetence, the pass isn't worth it.
they have such little respect for people...
IM GLAD YOU GUYS STOOD YOUR GROUND!
Thanks! I'm glad we did, too. We can't be letting these corporate bullies getaway with this.
Damn so nice of you guys to help that lady! Also damn that pass sounds sketchy. I see that it might be worth it, but its basically a discounted service that they try to cheat you out of i guess. :(
the pass, in theory, should work great. But it's the staff behind the scenes with shady practices that ruin it
@EatBailaTravel hmm.
😧 thanks for mentioning the automatic renewal! Gotta watch out for that for sure
That was very kind of you guys what you did for that lady and his son..
We’ve been in that situation a couple of times before the worst one was when we got stuck in Cartagena during covid. The hotel where we stayed took us and we felt so grateful.
return good karma 😁@@EatBailaTravel
Yooo. I like yalls videos. Los acabo de descubrir. siganle echando ganas and yes I want to move to mexico too
Hey welcome to the channel! ☺️ let’s chase that Mexican dream 🇲🇽
Bring back Aero Mexicana ! ✈️ definitely not gonna buy the annual membership. Not worth the headaches. Thanks Jen & Kev!
Mexicana had its issues too.
Hijole! Estamos fregados entonces
😅 ay ay ay.. if only there was some basic human decency with these airlines
You should had dispute the charge with your credit card company consumer credit act law.
Sorry to hear this, they really are just scammers. We've been ripped off by them like this too, I hope they get held accountable someday soon.
haha I'm glad you liked that part because I was having such a moment!! too much fun with this reenactment lol
I got the pass too on the pre-sale. I've used it alot. I havnt had any issues but I get at the airport 3+ hours ahead of time. My app has issues half the time but since I'm early I get hooked up.
I'm glad you figured out the hack quickly!! and I hope you're able to continue using it without any hassle
❤🙏
Did he get rebooked without fees?
Jenny from the block brought he heat!!! 💪🏼💪🏼
🔥😈😈
I’m glad to hear you had a positive experience! It must really depend on who you get and yea I agree that speaking Spanish makes a difference.
They’re jerks. They abuse as much as they legally can and with a smirk on their face 😏
Really really appreciate videos like this one
It is golden.
They help us navigate mexicos corrupt system
I'm so glad this is helpful! 🙏🏽 I hope more people will stand up to these corporate bullies after seeing this video.
Jenny, I love the t-shirt you are wearing in this video -- where did you get it?
Gracias! It's a new favorite shirt of mine now. Got it at the Veracruz (puerto) mercado de artesanías
Thanks, Cindy! It's embroidered and in the shape of Mexico 🇲🇽 ❤️ and good, we can't let these corporate bullies hang us out to dry
I'll pass on the pass
I wouldn't pay, I'd just rebook on whatever flight was leaving next to an interesting place that still had seats available (you said flexible!).
If they bounce you from a flight that's on them, and though they want to charge you for being late to a flight you had a reservation for, they can't charge you to check into another flight within the 24 hour window.
That lady could have been my mom, my aunt...
and yea, in theory the pass is great, but in practice, they use it as an opportunity to scam people.
I think I'll pass on getting the pass. I don't need drama in my life.
Not worth the high blood pressure 😏
I wish I could say I am shocked at your experience, but... last time I took Volaris I was at the airport more than 2 hours ahead and was the last one onboard. The lines are always crazy long and the airport in CDMX is super confusing. The signage is terrible. You were so kind to help the woman from Puebla and her son! I think I will pass on this Volaris deal 😉
You are wise to pass on this 😉😄 thanks for your comment!
Thank you guys ✈️
We feel a little better about the situation now we have learned the in and outs on the volaris annual pass.
Wow I’m bummed to hear this happened with Aeromexico 😏 lost time is nonrefundable and that’s the worst loss of all
So weird I have flown back and forth from CUN to TIJ like 8 times with this pass with no problems and not even pay for my carry on and backpack.
We spent a night in Mexico City airport. It was rough… and very cold lol
VivaAerobus is another one on our shit list!
Gracias for having a big heart and showing empathy. It says a lot about your character. ❤ To them, we are all expendable because these airlines are only about the money without any consideration for the human side of traveling. Overbooking is the result of unregulated capitalism. Saludos!
Unregulated capitalism (and greed) indeed. 😏
Thank you for the useful information, as for me I will choose to not patronage Volaris at all, I do not like companies that try to screw their customers
glad this was useful!
✈Great info. I watched to the end. -Marc
Thanks, Marc! Saludos to you and Paulette
😅😅 well, I did my best to give them whatever version of Karen I could lol
and, that's how they get us.. when there are no other options 🥲
OMG 😳 now I am scared for our flight this coming July 😖😖😖
You’ll be fine! Make sure to check in as soon as it’s available
Can you make a video showing how much you paid for some of your flights?
A year with the annual pass and I had no issues ...Ana at Lax was kinda rude..but we all have our bad days.
So far I can't say any bad things about VOLARIS..
Waao such a nightmare! I was in the same situation, I booked one night before and in front of the desk they told me that the fly was oversold but the difference is that they booked for me another fly to the same day and gave me a coupon with 6000 mxn for the inconveniences
Doesn't sound too bad!
great episode! The role playing was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
We had fun with the role playing haha 😆
Thanks. Info was very helpful
We just gotta be smarter than these people and wake them up so they can do their jobs.
the "fee" also unfortunately common in Mexico... ugh
Fly from fresno to Guadalajara often with no issues at all. Best deal for me so far.
And I hope it stays that way! 🤞🏽
Volaris in Fresno suck they leave 12am or 2am Tijuana is better.
So glad you didn’t let them get away with ripping you off. Question, are you able to add luggage and select a seat with the annual pass? Thank you
Yes you are able to do add a luggage and select your seat as an annual pass member 👍🏽
viva did this to us in February and yep they DGAF. I paid to rebook the next day.
😕 ugh, that’s awful
Have you tried new airline Mexicana? They say is supposedly cheaper and more convenient.
Not yet! But we will try at some point. Will be interesting to see. Airlines need more competition to improve their quality. At least that’s what I hope happens.
Desafortunadamente lo barato siemple sale caro.
Que bueno que pudieron ayudar a asa persona con su hijo 👏
De nada salió algo positivo. Hicimos una linda amistad con la señora de Puebla.
Thank you guys for sharing this great story. VOLARIS SUCKS!! Unfortunately they are the only airline to fly to certain destinations in Mexico and we have no other option but to put up with them. They definitely take advantage of people and charge for everything. Again VOLARIS SUCKS!!!
Someone else called it “unregulated capitalism” and that’s all I can call it now
I noticed that their web site is very glitchy. I had to try several times to purchase tickets to fly from PE to Mexico City in January. Thanks for the heads up about checking in on line (or at the airport). Meanwhile - I am still waiting for my refund from Aero Mar ... which I will never see.
sigh... well, I hope you get it! They're hoping you forget/give up about it.
@@EatBailaTravel A follow up would be great!
Good! And I hope they keep being good to you because that's how it should be. We're definitely learning how to navigate their BS :) lol
Thank you. I definitely will no pay for the pass.
There’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use it so why bother 🤷🏻♀️
Can you book 2 flights on same day?
Jusr in case you need to make your own layover if no direct flight are available
Yes, you can book as many flights as you wish but if you don't make your layover it becomes your responsibility
I took volaris as well I paid regular price. Both the website and app were down when I was trying to board.
Wow, so this really does happen all the time. It’s got to be intentional
it is an actual scam. I actually took two flights. One from Fresno to Guadalajara and another from Mexico city to Guadalajara. Neither time did the app work. At the hotel or in the airport.
So you would basically be flying like tier above standby more or less.
Yes, we have used it more often lately and it's not that bad
Is a TUA only charged from the departing mexican airport.
So from LAX to GDL, no TUA fee?
Yes that is correct for example when we leave Chicago to Mexico we pay around $25-30 USD
Where i do have issues in my mexico is the damn car rental places. Now that's a fight when they try to charge you more 😅. My inner Pancho villa comes out. Jenny from the block lmfao 😅😅😅
oh my gosh the car rental companies are a whole nother story! They deserve their own video
Me la pienzo con estos de Volaris.
Son bien canijos!
Thank you for FYI 😮
Our pleasure!
did the 8 people that were not able to check in were annual pass holders?
I don’t know actually. That never came up
I’ve flown with volaris several times without issues.
The annual pass can be convenient but also frustrating, just gotta be ready to deal with both extremes.
I would’ve paid and then called amex to cancel the payment.
I guess that would have saved some of the stress and headache but I refused to let them do that to everyone else who’d been standing behind us. Many Mexicans don’t use credit cards, they use debit and getting that cancelled would probably not have been an option.
