    You can not react to Iron Maiden without doing the seminal *"Hallowed be thy Name" Live 1982* Without bias, it's considered one of the greatest Heavy Metal songs of all time! It strongly influenced later developments in the genre. _PS- The drummer you just watched is famous for his _*_single_*_ pedal foot work. He can do triplets so fast, when repeated, it can sound like a double bass._ ...Chur from NZ.

    Bruce saw Iron Maiden play this live when he was supporting them with his previous band Samson.
    He said that was the moment he knew he needed to sing for Maiden. He also said Phantom of the opera is the quintessential Iron Maiden song.

    I was there. Took it all in, almost fourty years after I saw Maiden for the first time at Heavy Sound in Belgium in 1980. Jesus fucking christ, I'm getting old, but no regrets fellas.

    🤘 Love this song & performance. I was introduced to Iron Maiden in 1986. A friend of mine was listening to Murders In The Rue Morgue and I asked him who was that? Been a fan ever since.

    I was 15 when their first album came out and can still remember the feeling after dropping the needle down and hearing Prowler….it changed everything

    As an Iron Man faiden (lol) I agree on puting this track on their top 3. Such an anthem from my teenage years. I've seen them live two times and those are some of the best experiences of my life. The first time Anthrax was opening and I almost died crushed in the middle of the mosh pit lmao, It was so much fun tho

    welp, I grew up going to concerts, I've seen hundreds of shows from all sorts of rock bands, this is the only band I've ever walked out on before the show ended. 1987, Worcester, MA , lol.

      Were you not a Maiden fan, or did something specific happen at this show?

    • @williammurray5939
      @williammurray5939 Před 3 lety

      wasn't a fan of many bands that I went to see, my friends and I knew how to sneak into or buy our way cheaply into concerts so we went routinely as something to do when I was young. This show was some years later, i was given a ticket by a friend who was a fan, we both decided to walk out after 45 (?) minutes because it was just too loud and distorted, the sound quality was horrible.

      @@williammurray5939 yeah. Bad sound can ruin even the best band for a live audience.

    Hi guys, sorry this isnt relevant to this video, but I had to tell you about a "new " Genesis video I watched yesterday. It's live from The Bataclan '73 and the quality is amazing,..it looks as though it was filmed yesterday, and is the best I've ever seen on CZcams. If you're aware of this already, my apologies, but it really is unmissable.

    Back in the day I saw This Is Spinal Tap before having any real exposure to metal bands. It completely ruined the genre for me - I just see Nigel, David and Derek strutting around up there on stage.

    Why were they playing so slow? Phantom should be played at a good pace!
