I’m surprised that it didn’t seem like they hear of him considering Nick is part of that world and James Acaster is arguably one of the most well-known British comedians.
I hope we get actual James Acaster, and not an Americanized version where he’s just goofy Brit. Feel like him and Murray could vibe really well.

The Real Ghostbusters is one of the biggest reasons for the franchise's longevity. We could show the cartoons to our kids with all those different, interesting stories and they could grow up revering the films when they saw them.
The scene where the lion statue roars at them is a direct take from a scene in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. I am so happy that they've finally taken influence from it.
P.s. James Acaster is a really good English comedian, worth watching. 😉
i was pleasantly surprised by Afterlife, it was so much better than i thought it'd be, honoring the original story while also telling an original tale for a new generation, and this looks to be continuing that in the best ways. really looking forward to this one! 👻
Same here when i watched the trailer I thought it was going to be a bad movie but I ended up liking it
International trailer looks and feels way better. When i saw the US version after it ended i said, "man this looks like a joke and feels like one. I don't want it. " now I'm "warming up" to it
Loving the RGBness of both these trailers, the teaser trailer really gave me a Ragnorok n’Roll vibe (weather disasters rolling in from the sea, roads being torn apart), you can see the extended containment units in the Engineer Lab, much more akin to the RGB version (although there are still shots of the original film CU). Also Janine as a Ghostbuster is lifted directly from RGB, as is Slimer living in the attic of the Firehouse. Garraka gives off real RGB ‘big bad’ vibes. I’m off the chart with excitement for this… I’m not sure I can wait until March.

Afterlife was so good, I gotta rewatch it. I didn't grow up watching the originals so I only saw them a few years ago but Afterlife is definitely my favourite.

Seems the movie is pulling from all of their IPs; Real Ghostbusters (the Research facility scientist looks very much like the cartoon Egon), the Lion coming to life was in the video game, and obviously the movies. Can’t wait to see this movie

Great another boring POS movie that thinks referencing a better movie makes it good like the last 2 horrible GB movies. There's only been one great GB movie and one pretty good sequel

I thought it was closer to the Adam Savage one day build he did on his Tested channel. He showed it to Jason Reitman before Afterlife was released and he loved it. Wouldn’t surprise me if Adam helped in some way, he’s a huge Ghosthead…

The second, international trailer shows way too much tbh. Also, A] Empire magazine is a UK movie magazine and one of the best out there, and B] James Acaster is a great weird English comic and stand up that will perfectly in this film.

First trailer they watched looks better than the first one, but I still don’t feel anything from what I’ve seen so far. Janine suited up is cool, but meh over all. Going to be too many cooks and too many callbacks to justify itself existing on its own.
It’s got its own story . You see more of it in the international trailer . Obviously it’s going to follow the path of the ghostbusters always though

@@RandyJolet it does have its own story, but everything shown in this trailer was call backs and references. I feel like that’s going to be a lot of what we get. I love the first 2 Ghostbusters, but even two is mostly nostalgia for me. Might just be to the point where I admire something new disproportionately more than sequels and iterative media though 🤷🏻♀️.
Only thing really challenging that lately is Godzilla Minus One, and I think I would love that movie just as much if Godzilla was never in it.
