Britain just made its last payment for US aid during WW2 and the Marshall Plan about 10 years ago, so they were paying continuously for 65 -70 years. So the US didnt give the UK free money, unlike Israel which has had free money for years despite Britain -US having a longer shared history with a lot more in common.
