Hey have just been reading up about this article 13 threat that’s coming to CZcams and the internet! Have you any concerns or thoughts what you’ll do when it’s passed in January? Looks like it will be! How it’ll affect views and potentially eliminate all European views you get? From what a read featuring any product or property that wasn’t designed or owned by you for instance BMW your video would be blocked immediately by CZcams! It’s all pretty scary!
@Dave Graham To be precise: "Travel & Comfort System With two USB connections in the backrests of the front seats, passengers in the second row never run out of power. The Travel & Comfort System also includes the preparation for two multi-functional brackets in the rear of the vehicle. Tablets, clothes hangers or folding tables, for example, can be attached to them."
The all new X5 is certainly much more sharper and sleeker and does look up to date. With added technology and updates to the off road capabilities and better driving dynamics. BMW have certainly a winner on their hands.Cannot wait for the X5 M after seeing this. Great review Shmee. SHQUAD!!!
timonxDlol The Mercedes interior is nice but also gimmicky. I have an E Klasse with the wide screen and the vanity’s gone. It’s still nice, but the simplicity of my Audi interior and new BMW interiors relative to Merc’s is actually really nice.
I recently sat in one of these fully equipped at BMW-Welt in Munich and i have to say, it is near perfect in my opinion, so comfy and spacious with lots of technology and aggressive looks.
As a 42 year old doing the school run the new GLE interior seems a really interesting place to be. I dislike the fake exhaust tips but nearly every manufacturer are doing that now.
IS A GREAT CAR BUT GLE BEING MERC HAS A COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGE OVER IT, BMW IS TRYING VERY VERY HARD BUT MERC STILL EDGE THEM WITH SOMETHING VERY HARD TO EXPLAIN, IS JUST SIMPLY BETTER THAN BMW...
Shmee this is what you do better than anyone else, a good old fashioned(in a good way) but very comprehensive and thorough car review, excellent. Thanks for sharing this. cheers.
Tim I'm still (in lockdown in UK) working my way through your back catalogue of videos I may have missed when I was travelling between New Zealand, Australia and Blighty. Getting your viewing figures up! Enjoyed this video and Joes. Fantastic package the BMW X5 I'm thinking of getting the M50 variant.
For those old enough to remember 'Tomorrows World' (the whizzy techno inovation TV show from the UK)..Can you imagine what they'd mke of this back in what 1985 or so..like memory parking and the whiole lot. This car would be a Tomorrows World wet dream.
The X5 M50D would be my family car/all year all weather go to vehicle. Great video Tim, been waiting for this one. BTW the M50D has 400hp, not 381, that's the outgoing model.
@35:33 that left cover bit is a tablet mount slot. I love the fact they've added usb c instead of going with the old port. Now only apple needs to get with the times and update there mobile devices.
I think you should consider an X5 with a petrol engine as your next daily! If not an X5 an X6 which switches over to the coupe style I believe? You asked about a M850i recently as a daily driver Why not try one of the X's? Great review, great sounding car as well!
Gorgeous car but I would steer away from the M50D, with the quad turbo chargers, you're asking for trouble. That was very stupid on BMW's part but of course they don't care, it's the consumer who will have to replace them or fix them when they go out or something else for that matter. I'm VERY impressed with the Xdrive though, I remember watching an episode of Top Gear a few years ago and the X5 with Xdrive couldn't even go up a grass hill. This is a HUGE improvement! Def looking forward to seeing the X5 AWD reviewed on TFL Truck on the Gauntlet.
I have an x-line 3.0d x-drive - or something like that! arriving in July. Arctic Grey, Ivory leather. I can't seem to find out if it has the manually-adjustable suspension that moves up or down 40mm? According to the brochure, the 50d and the x-line have the same suspension options. Can you enlighten me? And does the towbar prevent the foot-waving comfort access to the boot?
Not a big fan of those rear headlights. It’s like looking the back of older models of normal Ford. But yeah, BMW is climbing bits by bits ever since that M5 F90 was born and am happy for it. Keep it up Bimmers.
Get the 850i! But you should consider the 992. It’s amazing. Love the new rear. Not a fan of the Mercedes Amg GT 4 Door and the new M8 and M3 haven’t been announced yet.
It is the sensor which tracks whether you are paying attention to the road or are falling asleep. If so it will warn you and suggest a stop. You will not see the flashing when you are in the car. This you only see because of the camera (very much as you film LED headlights)
THIS should be your future daily driver. The SUV market grows around the world, nearly every car maker has one or more in their line. But don't take a Diesel, or you leave it in Britain. In Frankfurt it isn't aloud except for Euro 6d temp!
I love it! The only thing about gesture control... As you're driving along, you start waving your hand around... May this attract some odd looks from other motorists?
Only 36mm longer? Really? It looks much longer. Saw one in person last week, and I would have guessed more like 360mm. Personally, I'm not a fan of the new look, but then, I'm not shopping for one anyway. Great video, as always, Tim. Cheers!
Two complaints with the new design language: 1) the engorged front grill, obviously; and 2) this is really minor, but why re-position the badges below the tail lights on the back? Just doesn't look right to my eye.
Quite an amazing car. I have one question though. Is it possible to change the dashboard readings to metric (mph to kph, yards to metres) ? Thank you. Great content👌
Comprehensive review. I have the current gen X5 but I am also tempted by the new Mercedes GLE, and Q8 for something a bit more interesting as the school bus.
glad to join you all today #Shquad, bless up one and all from BC eh as Tim I humbly offer you to come out here to do a little 4x4'ing we'll put that X5 through its paces out here in a big way! as always we give thanks for the gift of the day, may good fortune find one and all when most needed, appreciate the content Tim, everyone enjoy their weekend eh 8^)
@@Shmee150 we have some friends from Dorchester here in the Chilcotin, they are on a 2 year visa looking to immigrate out here, they love the expansive wilderness that makes up BC, thanks for the reply Tim, enjoy each day as I know you do. 8^)
Yo that looks sick wish I could own one of those. Will I be getting one shmee. Also this is once again a awsome video done by shmee definitely being a subscriber for live
Thank you for being honest. Nobody believes you if claim this 10 ton 3 litre diesel is the fastest thing on the planet. Specially from the gentleman who is at home inside the sub 3 sec/100km/h cars. It drives of course but it's not rocket. Thanks again for keeping it honest

Shmee150 the bmw x8 will be ever better than this if the concept gets the green light

Shmee150 got a question for you are they still airbags on the rear and struts on the front, and what are the wheel dimensions?
@Dave Graham To be precise: "Travel & Comfort System

You also need to review the new gle!
The X5 M50d has 400 hp. The old tri-turbo had 381 hp
I saw one of these on the road a few days ago and they look beautiful
50 50 bread me 2
Me2
Me 3
Me 4
M 5
28:08 woaw thats impresive
That reversin assistant mode is sick!! Never seen that on another car ever, cant wait to see whats next! Good job bmw.

Thanks for watching
I don´t know. Did you see the new GLE? Interiorwise the bmw is a complete generation behind, I couldn´t justify buying this over the new gle.
@@timonxDlol personally I prefer BMW interior than Merc
timonxDlol personally i think the new GLE proportion looks weird
timonxDlol The Mercedes interior is nice but also gimmicky. I have an E Klasse with the wide screen and the vanity’s gone. It’s still nice, but the simplicity of my Audi interior and new BMW interiors relative to Merc’s is actually really nice.
Great review that Schmee. I'm a total Mercedes Benz owner for many Mercedes. This x5 has alerted my feelings towards BMW love the X5 50d
I recently sat in one of these fully equipped at BMW-Welt in Munich and i have to say, it is near perfect in my opinion, so comfy and spacious with lots of technology and aggressive looks.
Tim I'm really impressed with the new BMW's, enough to get me contemplating moving out my Merc diesel into a BMW!
I’m thinking of moving from the current X5 to the new GLE early next year.
Mercedes went back to the inline 6 Diesel so the gap between both brands is so minor that personal taste decides wich is for you
@@xCobi I agree. I have to say I like the GLE and the air suspension, plus the technology is fantastic.
As a 42 year old doing the school run the new GLE interior seems a really interesting place to be. I dislike the fake exhaust tips but nearly every manufacturer are doing that now.

We build that bad boy right herr in spartanburg sc. Team 10 baby!!
Are you in hall 50?
I drove the triple turbo X5 M50d and it was really nice I bet this ones even better!
yep agree about the rear. the proportions from rear bumper to rear lights is too tall. needs bigger or lower rear lights to reduce that.
The first time I used HDC on my X5 I genuinely thought the car was broken. It’s such a strange sound to get used to. Brilliant system though.
For those old enough to remember 'Tomorrows World' (the whizzy techno inovation TV show from the UK)..Can you imagine what they'd mke of this back in what 1985 or so..like memory parking and the whiole lot. This car would be a Tomorrows World wet dream.
How many times does Shmee say narly?!
Looks like the roof window is also illuminated :O
Niclas Salcin yes it is, the panoramic sky lounge follows the colours of the interior ambient lighting
Yep. It also costs way more than it should.
Waiting for the x7
i saw the new X5 in person and it's fucking gorgeous!! The grill is massive but fits well with the rest of the vehicle's proportions
The X5 M50D would be my family car/all year all weather go to vehicle. Great video Tim, been waiting for this one. BTW the M50D has 400hp, not 381, that's the outgoing model.
I agree on the rear , it makes it almost anonymous amongst other brands , and that is not really what a manufacturer should desire .
@35:33 that left cover bit is a tablet mount slot. I love the fact they've added usb c instead of going with the old port. Now only apple needs to get with the times and update there mobile devices.
What is the annoying pink flickering light for on the dash?
Is it only me or the backtail lights are similar to the ones in the ford fiesta ?
I thought so as well, what happened to the 'L' design they used to use
I have a BMW m50d it's loud in sport and i have laser lights
I believe those other ports on the back seats are for accessories like suit hangers, etc.
BMW have finally listened to the market and updated their interiors. The technology is absolutely phenomenal in the all new X5
The car is great I saw it personally at the dealer my only complaint is that they remove the wood panel from the doors .

I always seen 400 PS on the G05 X50d not 381 PS, that was the spec for the old F15 50d.
What are those IR sensors flashing away in the middle of the instrument cluster that the camera picks up?
The s link in the rear quarter is avoid trick to make the car appear higher at the rear.
Not a big fan of those rear headlights. It’s like looking the back of older models of normal Ford. But yeah, BMW is climbing bits by bits ever since that M5 F90 was born and am happy for it. Keep it up Bimmers.

Camera placement must be way easier compared to supercar interiors when filming I bet.
Ive got an E70 30d ! Great car !
What is the flashing light above the dash? sensors?

Oh Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim....someone needs to show you what offroading really is.....

I hope the security on this model is better then the last models.....any BMW owner would say they worry about the car being stolen!
I L O V E D the previous gen X5, but I like this one a lot now. (And I wish more cars still had CD players...)
Two complaints with the new design language: 1) the engorged front grill, obviously; and 2) this is really minor, but why re-position the badges below the tail lights on the back? Just doesn't look right to my eye.
Tim, do you have a commercial relationship of any kind with BMW?
Quite an amazing car. I have one question though. Is it possible to change the dashboard readings to metric (mph to kph, yards to metres) ? Thank you. Great content👌
I don't know if I'm right or wrong but doesn't the x5's headlights are kinda similar to the m5 or what
hi shmee, i'm Jo Don. your content is getting better and better. keep up the good work #shquad
Thanks for your support, appreciate it!
i also love how you explain everything which makes me learn about the car, your garage and more
Always a descent review from Shmee👍🏻
How many times did he drive up and down goodwood hill though.....
M50D is the pick of the range! Four turbochargers!😀😁☺😮😃
is your senna will throw flames from its exhaust
Is the X7 based on the same plattform as the RR Cullinan?*
At least it looks 10 times better than the old one
The grill is way too big but part from that this new X5 ex and interior is second to none
Great video Shmee150, really pleased to hear you enjoyed the BMW X5.
The steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.
Oh please we find you left steering wheel driving people weird
In some country’s in Europe, the steering wheel is on the right side of the car.
@@tashingadekune9141 rly? I couldnt imagine shifting gears with my left hand
it's on the right side, not on the wrong side 😂😂 😂
Tim, would you say BMW has the best infotainment system in the business now?
Tim this really is the new Top Gear
SHMEE IN BLACK CLOUR THAT BMW X5 LOOKS AMAZING
#amgshquad the latest gen x5 seriously looks good the interior is amazing and the led design is meaner than before love the blue accents
You guys are at it every day! I think very few people other than you ever have a chance at the first comment
Why are the wipers so loud!!!???
In person it looks fine!
Thanks a lot for the video !! I always knew you’ll make a vid of my favorite suv
In person the X5 looks beautiful 😍
Great review shmee thanks,I always enjoy your videos
Great Looking SUV
Mayne!! That’s background noise from vehicles passing by is sooo intrusive.
Great video. Stunning X5. Looking forward to the M40i in Canada.
seems that your wide angle lens is making the car look bizarre... i've seen it on the road and the nose does not pertrude that much in real life :)
nice daytona tim, white dial fits you well
it must be awesome having a job to promote cars!
Thought you'd be driving the SHMEE-TRON
My dream car 💗💗💗💗💗
Tim... 5:50..... 4WD is not AWD. .... I am nitpicking.. nice content as usual.
The 2019 BMW X5 is such a great car
I really want one.
But it is so expensive.
Thankyou from all the crusty old dads 👍🏻
Tried to approach this as a more detailed one to run over how things work
Comprehensive review. I have the current gen X5 but I am also tempted by the new Mercedes GLE, and Q8 for something a bit more interesting as the school bus.
Bmw is stepping up its game great to see 👍
Love from Pakistan 😀

Why 4 turbos?
this is soo great! all the technology
Not sure about this x5. Tech is great but wheels look like they off ford focus and its lost that bit of aggresive yet stylish look.
Hi Tim ,From Rain & Cold Edinburgh, So The New BMW s x 5, M50 ,Nice Car ,Nice Technology,, Nice Video😮 Nice FAMILY CAR!😃😃.
