The hot sauce is made with an original blend of Premium Kanzuri chili paste aged 6 years for a deeper umami, locally grown Carolina Reaper Peppers for that extra fire and shoyu (Japanese soy sauce).
This is what a Japanese Office Lady or a Japanese Woman working in an office may typically eat in a day at the conbini, Japanese convenience store, including total calories and how much it costs. So in Tokyo, Convenience stores are literally everywhere and it’s very typical to eat conbini food when you don’t feel like cooking or simply to save money from eating out. This is peek inside the a day in the life of a female worker in Japan eating at the convenience store 3 times a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This look in Japanese work culture and what they may eat during the day. In a recent study, office workers in Japan, were asked what they commonly ate for lunch, and 45% shared that it was a homemade bento, while 22% reported that they ate from the conbini and only 11% said that they dine out. In other words, when preparing a bento from home is not an option, the next best thing is lunch from the conbini.

I stayed in Japan for 6 months as a research student and I ate these exact items. It's so fun to see that it's true for most people there! I'm hybrid when it comes to work, but I've recently gotten into learning how to make and pack bentos when I do have time to make some food the night before. Maiko taking off her high heels after work is exactly what I do when I'm in the office. I also wear high heels a lot in the office.

Amazing to see how much more affordable food is in other countries. Here in the US, $15.40 is becoming the typical price for a casual restaurant lunch, and that's before a beverage, taxes, and expected tip. I think eating out is going to become a luxury in many households when it used to be common to go out once a week to take a break from having to meal prep and cook at home.

Natsukashii! I used to live very close to where you filmed this in Ebisu and immediately recognized all these buildings. For amazing yakitori, I highly recommend Toriyoshi, which is just down the hill from the JR Meguro station!

Damn, I appreciate how you put those calories up there. I count my calories daily and over here in Australia its very hard to get something in shop that is hearty but can still be under 300 cal. In fact, things are generally 400-700 cals. Mostly because its so high in fat like sugar, oil or butter. So eating out is usually something to avoid if you are watching your weight.

Same. A working mom here in the US. If I could just pop into a convenience store on the go for the those calories and that quality, I’d look like a supermodel 😂

I appreciate places that put the calories on the menu so I can make an informed decision. One thing I've had to totally give up is fancy drinks because I swear they're like 800 calories for just a vanilla latte and such. I now drink straight tea and just coffee with room for cream. I also carry snack bars with me that are 200 cal because it's hard to find anything like a small muffin that isn't 400+ cal. Anyway good luck staying healthy.

You both are so sweet. I kept thinking of the behind the scenes, only having time to film while your son was at daycare, she is so beautiful, I sware I thought I saw her try not to laugh in one scene. Love your channel, love your style , love your vibe. I appreciate you both and all the hard work it takes to make all of us entertained.
