The current generation of old people have killed off the pub tradition in Britain. Having a decent pub significantly raises local house prices. Old people have more money and are much more able to afford to live in areas with higher house prices. As a result, old people tend to live near a pub and young people don't. Therefore, it's old people's fault if their 'local' closes down. Most young people don't even have a 'local' in the first place. NOTE: This is particularly obvious for places like Tunbridge Wells. Barely any young people live there, so pubs closures are clearly due to what the local old people are doing.
The pub isn't the heart of the community, many of us don't go to pubs on our own. Pubs are often very boring places to be. It is rare there is much going on. People keep to themselves. They may as well be turned into flats
Nothing brings me a smile and tears down my eyes than see pubs close down 😊 even where I live pubs closed down Lol
I agree, I love it when pubs close

I am an older pub, I don't like going to pubs, I don't like alcohol and most are boring places to be.
