- During the college football game between Virginia and Pitt, Virginia started off the game by throwing two pick sixes on the first two plays... yes you read that right. Virginia QB Brennan Armstrong had his first two passes intercepted and returned for touchdowns in the first 16 seconds of the game.

I feel sorry for Brennan Armstrong. Had a really impressive season in 2021, and really wanted to put his best foot forward with the new coaching staff. Kinda sad to see him struggle so much this season.
My cousin plays there so I hear a lot but it turns out he would just throw to open space and the receivers would catch it, no strategy involved, but new coaching staff is really forcing route running and he is simply incapable of doing so

Why feel bad for them? They probably bullied the dude relentlessly and paid the price. I knew too many kids like that back when I played through Pop Warner and High School. They are all the same, pick on the weaker kids and then count up and try to switch spots in lines for hitting drills cause they don't want to go head up against the Real Hitters. Wait til the real story comes out and what actually led up to it becomes Public knowledge. Kids don't usually just shoot up their school for no reason. I got kicked out of multiple schools from 7th grade onward for handling these exact issues in the Locker Room. They don't learn their lesson until they are picking on some nerd and all of sudden get dragged into the showers by a real one...

As a UVA fan, unfortunately this didn’t surprise me THAT much. Armstrong has played horrendously so far this year, and our offensive line is, well, *offensive*. It wouldn’t have made much of a difference if he didn’t throw these two picks, however, bc our offense was so anemic the rest of the game we got outscored 23-7 AFTER the two pick-sixes. I’m excited for the VT game though, they’re bad enough we have a realistic shot at winning

The 2015 Las Vegas Bowl was similar. The first play of the first 3 drives for BYU resulted in 3 turnovers and 3 Utah short field TDs. Utah was up 35-0 at the end of the first q. Utah never scored again and BYU rattled off 28 unanswered points but you can't spot a good team 35 points.

25-30 years ago. Montana v. Weber State (I think). Montana runs back the opening kickoff for six. Weber's first play from scrimmage is a pick 6. Then Weber runs 4-5 plays on next drive before fumble that is returned for another 6. Thus the first time Montana offense touches the ball they're already up 21-0

At about :54 second mark as he is jogging off the field, is he smiling? It is hard to tell. He put up good numbers last year. Having to learn a completely new system seems to have been a problem for him this year.
Since Virginia only scored 7 the whole game, Pitt basically won this game after 16 seconds.
Both times there was a DB behind and another in front of the wideout. Sure seems like QB should be checking down. Maybe the Wr in the crossing route is open over the middle? Gotta be better options but not on this day... Have I ever seen anything like this before? In practice with QB trying to feed his friend.
