  • New Brushless Starlock Max Multicutter LXT 18V DTM52 from Makita , quick comparison against predecessor LXT 18V DTM51 and CXT 12V TM30D .
New multicutter is far more quiet and cuts a lot faster , use the same blade for all cutters in the video . Pretty new btw .
This machine would maybe be as fast as Fein Supercut / Multimaster 700
Wood Dimensions 23x43mm , sorry for not showing all of it ,the camera was zoomed a bit too close .
    Warning: Higly scientific 😄

It's an amazing tool lack of vibration but now we know that it's powerful

*We are replacing the subfloor in our home **MyBest.Tools** and this tool has proved to be invaluable. So many different uses. Cutting away boards in tight places, cutting water pipes to name a few. We love Dewalt tools in general, but have really enjoyed the flexibility and durability of this multitool.*

My DTM52ZX3 is a very nice and powerful tool.
Vibration reduction works well, for the long jobs.
Be warned 'Starlock' blades are NOT the cheapest, and they are the only ones that this tool uses.
There are three types:- Starlock, Starlock Pro and Starlock Max.
I use Bosch, Makita and Diablo blades - all Swiss made.

I cancelled my order of the 51 and bought the older 50 which is slimmer and has an LED. I did not even consider the 52 with a head like a Pitbull. For me this tool will be used occasionally when in a tight spot. So a narrow head and LED are more important than ease of blade change or brushless design.

Why is speed-of-cutting the only factor in this test?
I have the DTM52 AVT - the lack of vibration is a great plus.

That's because it's only a short test of cutting. Not all people like long videos😄

@@stianjohansen9281 , thanks for the update. Were those measurements during load or just with the tool running free?

    • @stianjohansen9281
      @stianjohansen9281  Před 3 lety +1

@@hjorte. Running free handheld above the ground. The blades makes about the same amount of noise in use whoever machine you use . So the noload noise will be added to sawblade noise ,therefore I tested only noload 👍

I'm trying to decide between the wired Makita TM3010 with Makita DTM52, I don't need portability and prefer power and longevity. Do you have a recommendation between these two?
