+Chrono sidious Last time I tried to take down a legendary was when the game came out....... haven't tried since but could probably do it now cuz I have a maxed ship... well had a maxed ship since last year
+Ian Burpee just use A LOT of chain shot and avoid using barrels when his side is to you cuz then he turns into a space ship and halfway lifts into the air most of the time ramming you in process
My tactic...before it ramc you use fire barrel...it wil both stun the impoluto and push your ship some distance, keep fire barreling till the impoluto change course and flee, use this chance to broadside
You don't even know how epic this song truly is until you're fighting a legendary ship during a storm while avoiding water spouts.

Ah, the first time I tried to take on El Impoluto... I'm sure my Jackdaw shipwreck is still lying somewhere underneath it in the Gulf of Mexico
I took her on too. Got her to half health before I had a sliver of health. I managed to escape.
Her ram and speed were the primary reasons why I went bye-bye very quickly

Kerry Nash I finally beat the sovereign and fearless legit a smidge of health left like you coulda shot me with 1 cannon and sunk me. But the strategy they use is what gets me they outrun you and come back sandwich you then hit you from both sides. That was probably the most fun fight I’ve had in ac4.

Love the intro to the Legendary ships, but I wish you could re-fight them. Once the _Jackdaw_ is fully upgraded even a small fleet of Men O' War plus escorts starts to get too easy.
@Ioini Everson you want a bit of a tougher game, you should play with "no quarter" and "scourge of the seven seas" cheats on.
Aw man, I would LOVE to be able to replay legendary ship fights..
Don't upgrade the round shot and don't buy heavy shot at all. That way the game provides a nice challenge even with all the other upgrades on. I was also able to beat the legendary ships without them.
Kristjan Kangro next playthrough... I kinda got pissed off at sequence 2 and ran away and got everything maxed to post elite status and for a while I couldn’t find where I had to go for a while lmao. Might never upgrade to elite tbh.

Almighty Doge dont you just know it. I thought i was the boss fucking up them in game ships and tried to take on a legendary early on. Usain Bolt hadnt even crossed the finish line and I was DONE !

El impoluto was really easy I don't even remember fighting it, I thought it was at the bottom of the map so I saved it until last when I searched up which one is the hardest but the last one I killed was HMS Prince or something and that was easy af. I definitely didn't miss it because I beat all of them and got the ram ability.
@@prod.ts. Twins gave me more hard time than our EL IMPOLUTO. I defeated EL IMPOLUTO in my fifth or sixth try but for the twins it was my 15th or more . So twins are the real deal.

It has metal plating
Large ships like Galleons could, in fact, mount Iron plating in large quantities. Smaller ships were lucky if they got iron reinforcements to the bracing and a thin copper Sheathe.
The La Dama Negra fight tests Patience and Positioning, as well as your skill of fighting Man O' Wars by dodging mortars and not trying to fight them broadside on.

ZX1 The tactic is to circle the ship and when it fire mortar make full stop,turn and continue circle it while giving everything you got, dont get close to it(If done correctly, you should get a rhythm)(Make sure your broadside canon are in range)(Dont ram it,dont get close to it)(Dont make mistake or you gonna die).Repeat this process until the twin ship came.End the Storm Fortress and battle the twin ship.The tactic is to change your target when one of them are in low health.Make sure both of them are in low heath,it crucial as if one of the ships is destroyed the other will set it self on fire and will ram you like a gigantic fireship(Dont ram it)(Heavy shot spam).
Rogue's legendary battle is actually easier to beat...because morrigan's burning oil is OP as fuck

Nothing beats sailing too close and having that cutscene play, then your crew shouting "she's coming straight for us!"
When I first did one of these battles, I fell in love with the music but when I saw the firepower and the triple fire cannons I was like, oh shit, I’m dead. Especially in the Twin ships battle.
Also for the OG’s, Remember the thing where you were able to get on there ships because of a “glitch”.

i beat every single one and got the Devil of the Caribbean achivement but i wasnt satisfied. so i started over just to feel that adredaline rush again. fighting these ships were so fun. not to mention the music gets me pumped!
Yeah, I've replayed the game several times and always kept forgetting to leave a clean save with them alive. It's so sad that you can't replay the battles... in some simulation mode, perhaps with disabled ship upgrades.
Wrathinside you should just activate a random cheat and fight them,game doesnt save while cheats are enabled

HMS Prince is literally the easiest one. El impoluto was also easy. The twins were the hardest imo cos if you kill one the other lights itself on fire and rams you.

tbh HMS Prince just felt like a regular Man O’ War but double the health and special heat shot rounds. i like the concept of using the fog to its advantage but i feel like using La Dama Negra’s unique and unpredictable mortars would’ve been better instead of just being a regular Man O’ War. think about it. unpredictable mortars in the fog. that’s a challenge, especially when you lose sight of her

I resumed my brother's unfinished save in Black Flag last week. Finished the story, beat 4 of the legendaries on my first try. But that white, Spanish bull, the El Impoluto... took me 3 tries to beat her.
3 tries? That’s it? It took me like 15 tries to the point I looked up tutorials lol.

As great as this score is, listening to it like this just doesn't do it justice. Facing El Impoluto in the rain, both you and the enemy ship severely damaged, with just one wrong move meaning death, with this music... It's just so damn intense.

The only legendary ship that was able to sink me more than 3 times was La Dama Negra....I actually didn't realize it was invincible broadside until I noticed I was doing no damage to it xD.
I remember doing a bit of a glitch with the twin legendary ships you had to fight. If you take one down. Take the loot from the wreckage and let the other ship kill you. You spawn back with the money from the ship you destroyed. I abused the SH*T out if it😂 and got the max amount of money you can get.

The first experience I had with a Legendary Ship was the HMS Prince. I went to attack a convoy near that corner of the map if I remember correctly but I was fairly low level. I ran away and ended up in the Prince's domain. As soon as the music started, I noped the fuck out
