Evening Johnny👍😊. Most of the uv’s I’ve used have been prone to those sort of leaks because os glass moving or seals not sealing but guess it’s the nature of the beast, glad to see you got it sussed👍😊. Johnny in the jungle……classic, made me smile😊👍. Keep up the good work👍🐟🈲😊
Hi mate, glad Johnny in the jungle brought a smile to your face buddy. Made me laugh too tbh 😅 laughing at my own jokes…. What have all these lockdowns done to me 🤪 cheers though buddy it’s appreciated and yep the in lights are a bit fiddly. Take care and stay safe
Glad you got it sorted 👍 just abit of advice for the future as you've been very sensible and put union ball valves either side to isolate the uv if you need to ever mess around with it again why not just unscrew the unions on the ball valves and move the uv somewhere better to work with plus you can then tip all the water etc out 👍 just a thought as that's what I would do if there was issues 👍
Thanks for the tip mate 😁 I love this idea and thank you for the help as it would be easier to empty it. How would I remove the whole thing as the return is further on down the wall (deeper into the jungle) 😂 and the pipes are solid. Sorry to ask so many Q's its just I want to understand
Hi Johnny in the jungle, thank you so much for posting this as I have a slight leak on my Proclear 55 which I noticed on Tuesday night. I removed it twice yesterday which is not easy due to working in confined spaces with jubilee clips and is one of the jobs I really don’t like doing but thankfully I did put isolator valves either side when I put it in after was advised too which stops me draining the pond down and getting wet so this is really helpful. I checked the inlet and outlet pipes and put on some Ptfe tape, put it back on and still leaked so removed it again, checked the fittings, made sure all were tight and put back on and watched from underneath this time as I turned the water on and saw that it was coming from where the quartz tube is located and not from the connections I belt and braced with the tape so before taking it off for the third time as it was working and was not tripping any electrics I decided to look on CZcams this morning and yours was the only video I could find and I believe I have the same issue you experienced. I had also kept my old quartz tube I replaced a few years ago and had the two black seals so if one is damaged I can replace so round 3 - it was this seal around the quartz so was able to replace it and tighten it back up and this has sorted the leak, all thanks to your video post so thank you my friend.
It is still holding but I did some research and learnt that the locking nuts on the TMC UV require replacing after 2 years as overtime with the heat causes the nut to swell causing the thread to become loose which is what I found. I used some ptfe tape and tightened as much as I could before it loosened as it did on two previous occasions and ordered 2 locking nuts so when they arrive I will replace. I will check out your other videos as you have a lovely looking pond. I just polished up our window last night and this morning the fish look superb.
Just catching up on you encounter in the depths of the jungle series 1 🤣😂🤣😂👌 the c--- ring is a rubber O ring Johnny but your content is always 👌 🔥 💯 love it mate very fiddly and as already mentioned turn off values undo the both inner rings and remove the whole unit just going on to the next Video can't wait best regards Tony Brummie Koi Pond 👌
Thanks for the info mate its super appreciated. Yeah Johnny of the jungle is done for now until 2023 haha 🤞 Thanks for the support mate its truly appreciated
I had the same problems as you and found it almost impossible to connect both ends of the bulb by myself and finished up throwing it out and getting an all ponds solution one cheaper and no problems ever since

@@koifishjohnny its cool bud close your 2 ball valves then unscrew the ball valve just the side that's towards the UV and then just lift it off 👍
