      nowadays they use a lot less of them though, and around 2020 minifigures have mostly gone back to the regular blasters and guns and they’ll usually be on vehicles as weapons. again, they are play features so it makes sense and the newer style stud shooters look a lot better anywau

    In the last Jurassic Park wave, each set had a different color frog integrated somehow. The brown one was part of the poop pile Dr Saddler dug through.
    The Batman thing I think is two fold. One is that he is a very recognized character. Two is that he had more vehicles and gadgets than anyone else, thus easier to make sets for.
    And I always loved how in Lego City Adventures the Mayor dressed as corn with no explanation. I always thought a good joke would have been if the two political parties in Lego City were The Veggie Party and the Animal Party. Thus everyone running for office wore a vegetable or animal costume. And rather than actual politics they used something more basic. The veggies, like Mayor Flek focused on hard work, while the Animals just talked about how cool they were for picking their animal costume.

    It makes sense that Batman is so popular compared to other superheroes, because both him and his rogues love their vehicles, gadgets, and cool lairs. When you think of the Joker, you think of abandoned theme parks; when you think of Penguin, you think of the Iceberg Lounge. You don’t really get that for many other heroes or villains, so you don’t get as many ideas for sets

    Obviously, reusing plastic molds is logical, it's a company. They gotta make money, they're gonna cut costs.

  • @calebmezenberg137
    @calebmezenberg137 Před 6 měsíci +13

    9:20 I think the batman obsession has a lot to do with playability. Superman isn’t really all that exciting as a toy, as all his powers come from within. You could have some fake eye lasers, and breakable objects for him to smash, but the fun doesn’t really go much further. Batman on the other hand, has an immense array of gadgets, vehicles, outfits, weapons, and buildings. I could list off potential sets only Batman could produce, afforded by Bruce’s infinite wealth, but they’re probably already sets.

    I can’t see them as anything but frogs so it breaks my immersion when they aren’t used as Frogs.

      I like to think that the pink brick in brickheads is actually their brain, but I can get why they use this inside most sets, especially if the colour scheme is homogenous : it helps reading the instructions better. They also use lime green quite a lot.

      @@eetupuhakka7719for what I know the lego star wars designer team has a little game, if they manage to put a pink brick (2x2) in a set , they get a cake (as long as it’s not a lie).

    Lego has this weird obsession with 1×1 round plates. I don't know of a Lego piece more popular and it's probably featured in +50% Lego sets. I'm mostly saying this to make a point.
