You can see the difference in her FH from her pre-Patrick years and her post Patrick years, pre-Patrick was more of a swing around style of the WTA players, post-Patrick more of the ATP style of the parallel through, the early form was lethal but inconsistent the current form is just nasty when Serena retires her coach will be in big time demand.
For me, Serena's forehand was always the best - and most interesting - part of her game. Perhaps because everyone has always discussed the serve. Obviously, she serves a high number of aces but this is the stroke that has always yielded (by far) the greatest number of winners (and winning shots) across her entire career.
I would say Steffi's forehand was more consistent, and typically her footwork was better, but Serena can crank a winner from anywhere in the court with hers.
