How To Draw a Yin Yang Symbol

How to easily draw a Yin Yang symbol by Jonathan Harris
I start by drawing out a circle using a compass, then I draw a line through the center creating two halves. Then I need to divide the circle into two tear drop shapes by drawing an 'S' type curve. Then I draw around a quarter or coin for the two small circles that fit within the tear drop shapes.. Then once the basic shape is down I then draw around the yin yang with a fine line pen and fill the dark areas with a regular black marker pen.

Wonderful, thank you! I have just painted inside my garage white as I'm going to use it as a gym, & I want to do a large symbol on the back wall like this! :-) I'm the worst drawer in the world but you have shown me I can maybe do this. The only problem I can see is the S shape that divides the circle.

I'm not as good freehand, so I just divide the first compass measurement in half to draw the next two, and in half again for the final circles.

What ? You could have just used the compass to make 2 circles half the size of the original circle and then 2 more other circles half the size of the other two circles ( or a quarter, cant remember). Thats how you get a geometrically correct ying yang. I should probably do a video on this.
No need to use pennies or hand draw
