Memory seat is on our 2012 avalon i think after 8 years it should be standard on all luxury brands base models
My wife's nissan pathfinder has memory seats
Memory seats are on my mom's 2005 Lexus RX330 ThunderCloud Edition
My 2005 jetta has it as well
My dad’s 97 Volvo have them lol
Yup Lexus is getting cheap memory seats should be standard, rather get a loaded camry xse v6 than this they are basically the same car.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Great addition Kenny.
Thanks - great comparison. You remind me of a flight attendant at the beginning of the flight.
Yes there's something particular about that voice
I have a 2014 Ultra Luxury. The new ES is such a nice car. When I decide to move on from my 2014, I’ll definitely be looking into a newer UL. Those triple beam LEDs look absolutely stunning. The base model is nice, but if you are going to buy an ES350 and not get at least heated/cooled seats and blind spot monitoring, buy a Camry.
Absolutely love the comparison style videos! Please keep it up !
The base model is a great deal for $40K but the differences in features and options are HUGE between the base and Ultra Luxury models. The Ultra Luxury trim is very nice!
Yeah both vehicles are the same engine but they are very different
Buy some stick on wood trim in Home Depot and stick it on the wheel and other specific places and Bob's your uncle
U r doing something new in reviewing cars 👍👍
Thank you so much this is exactly what I wanted to see
I love this types of videos.
Truly love your videos very informative about each vehicle
Thank you so much!
Thank for you this detailed video! Very helpful.
You always do a great job at showing the car insane out! Thank you
yes love comparison videos.. looking forward to more.
Thanks, Kenny, for a clear outline of the differences between the two models. I really like the ultra-luxury package. Look forward to purchasing it later this year!
Hi! Did you purchase it? I plan on purchasing the es luxury.....so cant wait! Lol
That was very informative. Thank you!
Very informative video, I just subscribed.
Great job!!! Customers love to be able to see the difference so we can know what we are paying for as a consumer.
The LED daytime running lights are actually different as well. The Ultra package uses higher end brighter lumens DRLs. But I’m glad they finally added the power folding mirrors on the ES. Wasn’t even available on the 2019 Ultra Lux model. But they still need rear climate control, as well as an improved infotainment control center stack.
Got the infotainment update for '23.
Very informative. Thank you!
Perfecccttttttt...do it more bro...do it for more luxury brands and their vehicles....👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Excellent review!
I love my 2017 Lexus :) Full Wood Steering wheel :)
Thanks for an excellent comparison. I appreciate that neither car had the Black interiors. It made the video easier to capture the differences. Thanks again.
I would buy the Ultra trim instead of base both nice cars for the money. I am a Lexus fan like these new Lexus and older ES models from 07-12 these are my favorites.
Great video
That base model is a shame, very Camry-like... I have a 2008 Lexus ES350 with the ultra luxury package and nav/mark Levinson package. The older base models had more in terms of power features (aside from the nav-screen, that was extra). I noticed the new base model doesn't even have a power tilt/telescope steering wheel (which was standard in years past), and with the lack of memory seats? I don't know. Doesn't give a feeling of value as lots of Toyota's offer memory seats as an option anyways, that should be standard on a Lexus. Plus the fact they couldn't have added blindspot monitors? That's literally how the base model Camrys and RAV4s come. Great review, I appreciate the work you put into it! It's just sad to see Lexus skimp out on their current base model, as it is supposed to be a luxury car. Maybe Toyota lost the memo in translation, idk.
But I dont think your es have lane keep assit, lane departure warning right?
Mark Levinson, the great one.
I think it had more to do with wanting to keep the base price down near the level of the 2018, near the $40k mark. There's stlll a lot of new mechanical sophistication here the '18 lacked that costs money to provide.
Awesome review. We have the Ultra Luxury model.
I love this kind of videos. Very helpful.
Subscribed.
Thanks dude
Even my 2013 Accord EXL V6 has memory seats... should be standard on all lux models in 2020.
Awesome video comparison! I'm shopping for a really good sportback sedan car and Lexus IS is to uncomfortable for backseat passengers so im looking at the Ultra Luxury ES 350. Do you have a recommendation on what car to also take a look at. Audi S5 sportsback, Acura TLX are also on my radar.
You''ll have to test drive them to see what fit your needs better but I will say the ES will most likely be the most comfortable on the inside compared to all the other models
With 14k dollars of optional equipment, i think its worth it. The Ultra Luxury looks sooo much better, more aggressive, and mean than the base model. I just got the 2021 Ultra Luxury, the exact same model as the video and I am glad I made the right decision. Thank you Kenny for the comparison. I watched tons of your ES videos before making the purchase and every time I sit in it, it makes me smile :)
More aggressive and mean?? How?
$27k cash today im looking to buy if u sell?

I have a 2019 eminent pearl white ultra luxury package Lexus ES 350! I love the car ! It is a flawless well developed product!I just wish the rear center console had climate and audio control for the rear occupants ! Still hard to beat the price with all the amenities it includes! Job well done Lexus!!!! Looking at getting a LS 500!!!
The ES is a great ride, but the LS is definitely on another level of refinement especially the ones with the luxury package!
Uggghhhh, I love these cars with the ultra luxury package. What a beautiful car, I have a black 2008 ES350 with the ultra luxury package, it's still nice today even with 165k miles. In the next couple months I'm planning on upgrading into a white 2016 ES350 with the ultra luxury package, the ultra luxury package adds just a bit of prestige to the car.
I wish they didn't discontinue the GS, that was my favorite one
@@sethallen8653 The 2016 generation isn't good. Rough ride and poor quality interior.
@@sethallen8653 curious.. friendly... but why are you looking to sell? Don’t wanna hit 200k or start running into mechanical problems?
It looks like for ~$14,000 less, you get the same engine, transmission, and mechanical reliability. I bet the sound system is amazing on the higher trim, but to me the base model seems like an excellent value (for a non-rich person).
It is but the features and options on the Ultra Luxury trim really puts it over the top. I ended up with a fully loaded 2020 Ultra Luxury version.
The base model is a better value for sure, the sweet spot probably being the base with Premium Package (figure low to mid $40s) that adds leather, wood and some niceties. You're right about the mechanicals.
Amazing
There’s one big difference you missed: The seating surfaces. The base model gets vinyl which Lexus calls “NuLuxe” and the Ultra Luxury model gets semi-aniline leather. There is also standard leather for the Luxury model of the ES.
The leather obviously feels more premium but some drivers like NuLuxe for its durability and easy to clean.
World of AI - Music It's vinyl? I thought it was at least leatherette 🤦🏾♂️🙄
NileshR12 I thought leatherette was vinyl. They make the surface look like leather but I’m at least sure the base model doesn’t get real leather.
The Leather seats in the UL Trim is VERY NICE!
2015 es pano ml such a classy juggernaut!
I like the color on it
2019 ES 300h with 2.0 safety, blind spot monitoring, parking alert front and back, heated steering/front seats, door guards. Saved $3-4K: no Mark Levinson stereo, thicker windows, more seat positions, bigger tires, sunscreen popup, fancier headlights, folding side mirrors, GREAT car without!
i have a 2013 ES350 with only 36k miles , Sapphire Pearl White/black interior, Premium Luxury package.. BEST car ive ever owned !!!
How much it cost including tax and fees for your 2013 used Lexus ?
@@mbn4975 I bought mine in April 2019, next month will make 2 years ago. Kind of irrelevant what I paid then especially before COVID19 and 2 years of depreciation. It was $18k before taxes and fees

Lost it in the infotainment update for '23. I'm with you -- I'm glad to have it.
My gs 2013 has 3 memory seat on left and right. Steering wheel heat, front seat heat and ventilation. On the back multi control of music, ac, also has back seat heats. Curtains on back windows. Also in the back window which is also controllable. Fully customized to f sport. Even have fog lights on f sport bumper. First i was thinking i should get new es or is maybe. Now it makes me think the hell i should do this?
I like the Ultra model.
The GX460 really has to get more technology, lexus can definitely do it based on this...
Great video, my 2014 Toyota Avalon limited has more options than the base ES.
The differences are HUGE between these two trims and he didn't mention all of them. The price difference between the two trims are easily over $10,000+
How much would the base model of the 2020 car be now? I’m interested in buying but the used cars price is pretty much identical to a new car at this point. It’s crazy
I like the base model!
Heated seats should come standard.
Next do a IS base model versus luxury
they have been making these since 2007, i had it great car. i have 2010 now its sweet. i wonder if they still give tool kit, in dash dvd player and fifth wheel instead of donut. did he say if seats had air. was gonna get 2016 but covid hit, god bless us all.
07 es350 UL package here and doesn't seem I m missing too much
That brown and orange like tan interior looked tacky on the 1984 Camry LE, but it was era appropriate. It just looks cheap now. The biggest difference between the 1984 Camry and the this ES is that the Camry colors were of the same shade. This TMMK built ES looks like different suppliers were responsible for the interior. So many different shades of brown that don’t match. Good review though. You were informative.
2019 ES 300h, brown and orange interior. Touch of elegance living with it, excellent!
You should also mention the price difference.

Where can I get those plates
No mention about motor,mileage...?
Does the ultra luxury have more insulation as I think it is a bit quieter "less road noise" then the base model even though the UL has wider rubber. Would the laminated glass on the UL really make much of a difference? thanks
Yes. The UL and Luxury have laminated glass, noise-reducing wheels, and chassis-mounted Yamaha "performance dampers" that soak up low-frequency chassis vibrations.
I have a question about the luxury double moon roof which is can they be slided open? The single moon rooh slides open. . .but thr double roofd do they open to let more air in?
The front half opens upward and slides back on top of the rear half.
Wow, not only is Lexus already a luxury car, but they have a luxury version of that luxury car. Not only that, but they have an ultra luxury version of that. Probably just a couch inside the next model
At that point, you’re probably better off with a LS500. The higher trims of the LS500 come with rear seat recliners with heated and cooled switches and different massaging functions. Oh yes, add a nice center console too.
Where do I put my sunglasses? Where do I plug in my radar detector? Thanks
up ya ass
WOW
GRT comparison video! I just got my ES350 w most luxury options a bit over a week ago. One thing bit shocked about is I just filled the tank up after getting it full w 7 miles on. I did the math and got 12.3 MPG (WTH?!$) It’s pre purchase sticker said 22mpg city and 30mpg which is as a major factor towards choosing. Thoughts sir? And LUV my quiet ride w the rims you pointed out and full moon roof black look and style. Thanks so much for covering all, much of which I didn’t know!
Not sure why you would only get 12 mpg, try driving and filling up a few times to see if anything changes. But congratulations on your new vehicle!
How much quieter is the UL version? Does it include laminated glass or other soundproofing aside for the special wheels?
The UL and Luxury trims include acoustic glass on the front side windows and noise-reducing wheels that other ES's don't. i can't speak to how much noise reduction they provide, but I did drive a loaner base car that was pretty quiet but less so than the UL. Some people say they notice wind noise around the pillars and mirrors at highway speed without the window upgrade.
@@tonysterbenc I went with LWB LS460. Quietest Lexus I have tested, including the LS500.
@@cadriver2570 A great choice. Enjoy!
I love my ‘05 ES330, but the miles are getting higher and with a lot of the deals due to covid it might be time for an upgrade
Did u get one?
@@johncanlasnutrition9570 ended up holding off, I’m planning on buying my first house at the end of the year and buying a car would postpone the house. I just hit 168k miles and honestly I can probably get it to 220k, I do all the maintenance myself and the thing is basically a Camry. Super reliable, I’ve had it since 114k miles and the only issue I had with it was an O2 sensor go out. Could still drive the car, just had to buy a $80 Bosch replacement and took 5 minutes to install myself. Will definitely be getting another ES in the next couple years
@@bryanelwell3470 looks like im in the situation as you!
Great video and very informative 👍👍.
What’s the difference between the Fully loaded Toyota Avalon and the Base model Lexus ES350?
Better leather? More sound dampening? Please list all the differences
How many trim levels does the ES have?
3?
Base, Ultra Luxury and F Sport?
That's what I want to know
Can you do a comparison of the Luxury and Ultra Luxury
As soon as we get more in stock!
Wow
Beautiful car . For an ES starting at 41,000 you gotta wonder why anyone would pay 38,000 for a top of line V6 Camry
Dan bish Probably a drastic difference in monthly payments for a lease or to finance it 😂
The camry parts and repairs are much cheaper than lexus if you decide to keep the car for a long time, even though they are both very reliable.
@@Armmani2000 They're the same car in the areas that matter.
A lot of people hate the infotainment system
Agreed!
Lexus having 0 parking sensors is crazy
You do a great presentation, but I think my Honda Accord is better than the luxury ES350 if you factor in the price. None of the luxury options were incentive for me to consider upgrading from my Accord to a Lexus. This is why I would prefer to spend my $$ on a BMW over a Lexus, eventho I know the Lexus has better quality and less ownership cost.
Luxury Package 2016 ES 350 1 owner car and only 6000 mileage for $29,000 out of the door price including tax and fees is good deal or not ? Please let me know.
Scotty Kilmer approved! Is there an F sport version of this car?
Yes there is an ES350 F Sport
@@KennyVacek Hi Kenny are Lexus dealers better to work for and less scammy than a regular dealer? I don't mind a business make a profit but I don't want to be ripped off.
@@amill1563 It depends upon the dealership. The Pohanka Lexus my family goes to has always been kind to us and has treated their customers with respect.
Wait a minute there are no reclining or heated rear seats?
yamahaU3 Probably not
Not on US spec
Correct, and that omission has drawn oodles of complaints. As Kenny suggests, there's a whole suite of back-seat features offered on the ES in many other countries where the owner usually sits while a hired drive ferries them around, but in the States apparently Lexus was striving to keep the price down.
Best Japan cars and in the world!
I'd buy one but local dealers say they've never seen an Ultra Luxury model. I want leather seats and an upgraded sound system but that doesn't seem to be available.
Search on cars.com and you will find one from a dealer. I had my 2020 UL trim delivered from a Lexus dealer in Texas to California and I got everything I wanted. Same situation as you with no Luxury trims within 250 miles or more.
Of course I'm responding 2 years later to a post made at the height of the pandemic shortages. I ordered an Ultra Luxury when you posted this and waited 7 months for it. They probably were allocating the already small supply of Ultras to dealerships that had previous sold the largest numbers of them; they make them in just a few batches during the model year.
The main difference is the price
I hate automatic trunks/gates I can open and close a manual one faster, but I'm 26 and not 70 so maybe that's a factor lol
I’m 21 and my lazy ass has found myself wishing my golf had one
@@brynnleahnayvieghlaykynnn6175 😂😂😂
Why do you keep saying optional on the ES, they are both ES models. What is standard on which?
Remember there are 4 different trim levels, base, premium, luxury and ultra luxury. All these trims come with different options
You should be a flight attendant
How does it compare to the Mitsubishi Mirage?
Favorably.
One minute into the video in great job just for the same colors side by side and you can really focus on the car and not the colors

No panoramic roof on f sport

@@KennyVacek Ah ok thanks. Is there a software update for the 2019s? Looking into a CPO in the next 3 - 6 months. Not a deal-breaker but would be nice.
As of now lexus has not released any update for android auto. The Navigation system on the 2019 ES is the gen 10 system but the 2020 ES has the new gen11 system so I’m not sure if there will be an update for that either

@@KennyVacek Actually the VERY early models in 2020 didn't get it. I know the build dates had to be in October some time.
That base ES model reminds me a lot of my mid level camry
Blind spot monitor should NOT be optional.
Surprised you did not talk more about the Mark Levinson system with surround sound - probably the main selling point to buy the Ultra Luxury.
do explain
@@seeum2098 The stock audio in these new es350's is a complete tragedy. You can look up some lengthy forums threads about it. Lexus has decided not to address the buyers concerns and label it as 'working as intended'. In a nutshell, the audio sounds like a small desk radio sitting on a table in front of you. There is very little power to the rear speakers of the system and the faders don't fix the issue.

Power trunk (not automatic)
I just traded my 2019 BASE model for a... LUXURY model (NOT ultra luxury). My question: it seems that my stereo sounds much better in the LUXURY model. Could it be that the BASE model DID NOT have the same 10 pioneer speaker system as this LUXURY model.?? It sure does SOUND BETTER! Thanks!
There's only one 10 speaker base Pioneer stereo, but I think a fix was made on the fly around '20 or '21 to remedy complaints about barely being able to hear the rear speakers.
The interior entertainment screen looks last gen. Needs update badly.
Got that update in '23.
How much is the lux package?
You'll never find a Luxury or Ultra that isn't loaded with options. So the practical answer is, low $50s.
Wth... a luxury brands luxury car worth more than 40 k and didn’t equip with a sure have safety feature of blind spot monitoring.... it’s a shame for lexus even a base model regular sedan worth 18k have it......its pure shame for such high end brand....BSM is not a luxury feature anymore it’s a safety.... lexus should rethink....
Isn't that what luxury means? Pay more for basic features? You can get a fully loaded top of the line accord or you can get a entry level TLX for the same amount
What he means is that it should be a standard.
Like for example, a new car is now regulated to have a back up camera which used to be like a luxury item but as time moves on, it became a standard safety feature. And BSM should be standard at this point.
I have a 2019 ES F-sport edition (not really that sporty) but it did include a BSM system along with most of the luxury features from the Ultra trim minus the auto open/close trunk and the rear sun shade.
Lexus should have the camera monitor when changing lanes, it would have been perfect if it did👌
Its an option and ultimately the consumer should decide if they want that added costs! The Ultra Luxury trim has all of that!
Lexus need to upgrade the dash. That’s the only thing that kills me about this car. They are still going with this old looking buttons and things. Toyota has upgraded why want they upgraded. But I love everything else about it. Especially the peanut butter colored seats. That’s to die for for me!
The Lexus designers have stayed with the company a long time and the design suits their taste.
The buttons and dials are actually costlier to provide than burying everything in screen menus. Older buyers, a big ES audience, prefer them. And makers like VW and Mercedes are getting a lot of criticism for their all-screen systems' lack of usability.
That base model really cut a lot of corners
True. I think they were committed to keeping the base price close to the previous generation, and with a lot of safety equipment and structural upgrades added, it was feature content that had to go.
that dash screen is tireddddddd
Where does the poor ultra model sit to have all that tree stuff in the seems already
So sexy omg i love Lexus 😮😮😮
That base model is depressing
Checked your meds?
The base model is just as luxury as the trim.
Not even
NOT EVEN CLOSE and yes I did the comparisons and yes I do own a 2020 Ultra Luxury! The differences are night and day!
Year 2020. Lexus is still using light bulbs. Top od The line versions use LED strips from 2005 Audi A6.
All LED lights as far as I know with the exception of the base model DRL. My 2020 Ultra Luxury Trim is ALL LED.
