- Becky G joins Zane Lowe in the studio for a conversation about her album, ‘ESQUEMAS.’ Having more time at home in 2021 afforded Becky G the opportunity to create music under her own terms for the first time and she thrived in that freedom. Becky G wrote the first half of ‘ESQUEMAS’ from a difficult place in her mental health journey, the creation of the album helped her learn how to confidently articulate those struggles. She also shares details working alongside her friend Anitta, and recording “MAMIII” with KAROL G. As a child of Chinese immigrants, she captures it so well the experience of any child of immigrants who has had to grow up quickly. The things I had to translate even though I didn't know what I was translating. The exposure to adult problems. In a way, you do lose that innocence because you're aware of issues most kids are sheltered from.
I love how mature, insightful and eloquent Becky G is. And I love that her music is so varied. And I love that she's found this confidence in herself, her body, her sensuality.
I love what she represents for all women in the industry. I hope we get more celebrities like her. She's a better role model than many others.
so true. it's sad we lose that childhood but we also gain resilience and maturity. make sure to make time to do things you wanted to do as a little kid. paint, draw, read books, play board games, spend time in nature with friends, etc. that's how we heal :)

This is the very first time I've heard her speak English and she is very well spoken and articulate!!! She is a superstar in the Latin culture but she should also do more songs and albums in English - there is a whole segment that she is missing out!!!
She originally started in English music and moved to Spanish when she failed.

Karol said in an interview that the concept was Becky's idea, and she was on board. don't assume without knowing. I was also disappointed but if you look at Becky's track record with videos recently (even ones she featured in) they flopped.
