    A big thank you for the tip, with the right pliers you can even remove the bulb and put the new one back on without making a hole 👌

    Most useful video I’ve seen on CZcams for a long time. Thanks for the hack. £1 instead of £42 from BMW.

      You can actually get the bulb out without the hack,. its just take a bit of wiggling...

    Wow, saved me a small fortune, bulb cost me £10 from "Fast-Parts" in the UK, BMW wanted £100 + fitted & Euro car parts wanted £60.99p just for the part, great informative easy to follow Vid. Couldn`t get the old bulb out until i used a 2mm drill then it just popped out, new one in & away you go... worked a treat with no Error showing on dash, many thanks.

    Wow this was awesome!! Quoted $360 to replace at BMW garage, bought an $11 globe and fitted it myself. I cheated and took my wheel and wheel arch cover off for easier access but used your video as as guide for the rest...
    Thanks buddy! great video!

    He's doing this wrong, you do not need to drill any holes, go to 4:16 in the video and pause, at the rear of the bulb housing where his thumb is there are 2 grey tabs that are heat melted to the chrome housing holding the bayonette bulbs socket into the housing. sand these down or cut away until you can pull out the bayonette socket then you can remove and replace the bulb. Once refitted use some hot glue or electrical tape wrapped tightly around this area to reattatch the bayonette socket back into the housing.

      @dziugasdraksas7610 Před 4 lety +2

      but hot glue could melt down, because bulb housing get quiet hot?

      I didn’t drill anything. Just be patient and wriggle the bulb, it will come out. If it doesn’t, instead of drilling why not use a file just to make a tiny slit so the pin pops out

    • @judedesouza63
      @judedesouza63 Před 3 lety +1

      Agreed I've used this method twice (buy good quality replacement bulbs), I re-melted the grey tabs with a hot screwdriver. I also needed to remove the 2 bolts on the air filter housing so I could move it out the way a bit - driver side E91 Touring. Still a great video though - THANKS.

    @simonafloat Před 2 lety +1

    Thank you for this video, really straightforward. In fact i managed to jemmy the old bulb out and the new bulb into the housing by gently prising with a jeweller's flat screwdriver

    Thank you for posting this, I went via the wheel arch to get to mine for more space, the only drama was the lucas bulb wasn't as rounded on the lip so it was hard to twist on the lugs , I had to use a rubber glove and long nose grips to get a good grip to turn the bulb. Great video and definitely a money saver. Thanks again. Top man

    You should just get some Lux LED bulbs. The Lux bulbs just screw right in eliminating the need for that gray bracket and upgrades the halos to LED's. My question is are your halos your daytime running lights as opposed to the high beams and if so how did you get them that way?
