From Passo Giau begins one of the excursions considered among the most panoramic and evocative of the Ampezzo Dolomites: the tour of the Cinque Torri is a very exciting ring trek, characterized by a succession of splendid panoramic sceneries that overlook the most remarkable and characteristic mountain groups of the fantastic Dolomites.
It winds along 4 well-known alpine refuges (Averau, Nuvolau, Scoiattoli and 5 towers) and climbs, for those who wish, up to the scenic top of the Monte and Rifugio Nuvolau, the latter characterized by a fabulous 360° absolutely vast panorama ed, charming. Furthermore, since it is a relatively simple route, with a not exactly excessive positive difference in height, it can be tackled by anyone with a minimum of physical and technical preparation in a mountain environment.
From Passo Giau, behind the hotel-restaurant, take path 452 on the left to reach the Averau and Nuvolau refuges. Subsequently, we descend to the Scoiattoli refuge and enter the Dolomite complex of the Cinque Torri. After having passed the refuge of the same name, we continue along trail sign 443 to return to the starting point again.

Bel giro Domenico! L'abbiamo fatto la scorsa estate.. anche noi su per quella specie di canalino (sempre umido) per arrivare al Rif Averau.. e poi il ritorno che hai velocizzato.. è bello tortuoso.. con vari sali-scendi.. ma gran bel giro! Bravi!! Splendide dronate!! 👏👏👍👍

ciao, giro bellissimo che vorrei fare questa estate.. ti posso chiedere se il ritorno verso il rifugio 5 torri è esposto? soffro di vertigini e ho paura di restare bloccata.. in tal caso mi conviene tornare indietro. 🙄Grazie mille

Non è tanto esposto, non sò quanto soffri di vertigini, perchè ricordo che scendendo dal rifugio 5 torri c'è una scalinata nella roccia che potrebbe crearti qualche problema....puoi provare al limite rifai poi la strada dell' andata👋👋

Buonasera Domenico, okay abbiamo capito che la Signora la vuoi relegare alla sola presentazione , paura che si prenda la scena ? …. Tanto se vuole se la prende lo stesso 🤣😂🤣😂. Posto bellissimo anche se molto inflazionato, la dronata rende molto bene la bellezza di quel luogo. Rimanga fra di noi , qualche anno fa mi trovavo allo Scoiattoli,arrivano due coppie per cena e le signore avevano tacco dodici , questo la dice lunga su come sta cambiando la montagna 🤣. ⛰️
