    I’ve had tireminder on mt truck & rig (42’) and have had two blowouts. Front right truck tire and right center (TH) trailer tire. The tireminder system never gave any warning, just heard the tire blow. No leak warning, no temp warning. So I’m not so sure these systems work all that well. Just my experience. 🤔🙄😉

    TireMinder told me a few weeks ago that they are working on an Android Auto solution also. Should be available soon.

    Thanks Jared! Nothing like being able to declutter the dash. It's wild how quickly that stuff can add up.

    A sincere thank you for presenting these options. I have avoided a lot of these items not wanting to junk up my dash. Now I can have it all go to CarPlay.

    Two thoughts about integration are that you can upgrade your radio to the 8.4 or 12 inch oem unit with android auto/car play. The other thing you can do is get the TTPMS integration in your truck. HDrams forums has a section on this to add it to your truck and have the trailer tpms monitored through the truck, only downfall is no temperature so you cannot see a dragging brake or failing bearing.

    I use regular rubber bands to put my rear monitor right overtop of my rear view mirror. It’s almost too simple but it’s significantly better than everything else I’ve tried. It’s also second nature to just look up at the rear view mirror.

    Great video. Added items on the dash is a true distraction. We use the TPMS received with our 2020 Chevrolet 3500HD truck. Allows us to see the PSI on each trailer tire plus temperature for each tire as viewed on the display screen built into the truck. We use a Garmin RV GPS with a built in Front dash camera (very helpful). Wish I had a rear facing camera. Maybe someday. Enjoy all your videos.

    Good idea.
    You can buy a CarPlay add-on unit with a screen for about $100

      I’ve thought about it and thought about swapping out the stereo for a CarPlay version.

    Hey Jared - in an effort to declutter the dash I upgraded the head unit in our truck to Carplay and have been super happy! Also, not sure which camera system you have - but Haloview has a mount for their displays which allows the monitor to be strapped to the rearview mirror. The combo of having the monitor on the mirror, plus Carplay has been an extreme improvement in our declutter and the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner!

    I would love to see my TPMS do this. I too, have my TPMS monitor on a shelf and only look at it when I have an alarm and when I stop for fuel, food, etc. Great info. Thank you

    Thanks for all the good tips. We really enjoy watching your channel and learning more. We don't have CarPlay so we're still shuffling stuff around, but RV Life GPS helps. We were wondering if you have a recommendation for a dash cam. I know, one more thing to mount, but we would like to look into one and would appreciate any advice you have. Thanks again!

      I believe Jared reviewed trailer cams a couple of years ago - Haloview vs Furrion and chose Haloview due to time lag issues on the Furrion system. Based on that recommendation we picked the Haloview also and it works great. We have side cameras that are integrated with the side marker lights and the rear camera mounted where our trailer was prepped. Relatively easy DIY install.

    Hi was watching your old video on the best heater for RV did you know that the Chinese heater runs very well on paraffin Soz kerosene to you am in the uk 🇬🇧 and it's a lot cheaper than deisel you can mix kerosene with cooking oil even cheaper 50/50 with half shot of petrol that's half of 1.5 ounces that's a shot in 1 gallon or just use kerosene that's cheap enough

    Jared just to confirm you switched from truck maps to the RV Life GPS and find it as reliable? Before we found TM we used a GPS that would take you on some of the oddest out of the way routes. Just wanted to check with you that RV Life isn’t that type since you guys full time and are driving all over the place. Great video, we have the tire reminder that has its own monitor and I’m hoping that it can integrate into the one that will work with my Apple CarPlay. That would be fantastic.

    Hrm. I really like that idea, but I got the i10 unit because I didn't want it to be phone dependent.... I wonder if they have an upgrade path since they now offer the carplay... I'd prefer that to my separate screen.

    You've been using the Tireminder TPMS for a while now. Are you happy with it? I'm in the market to purchase a new TPMS system after the EEZ tire system quit working. I can't seem to decide between the Tireminder and the TST system.

    • @nolandenton1224
      @nolandenton1224 Před 10 měsíci

      I use the exact TireMinder system Jared shows here (actually based on his reco) and it has saved my bacon twice. Once was a rapid pressure loss (picked up a nail) and once was a slow leak that kept recurring (loose valve stem). It has been great but I now have a truck with CarPlay and will be changing over to the Lite app. This was a great tip from Jared!

    • @robh063
      @robh063 Před 10 měsíci

      @@nolandenton1224 Thanks for your reply. When Jared and a couple others that reviewed the Tireminder didn't reply, I starting getting that Red flag feeling so I went with the TST 770 TPMS. The other thing that I didn't like is having to push a button to switch screens to see tire temperature. I prefer it all to be on one screen so I don't have to mess with the monitor while driving.

      We use this one.amzn.to/497E2D9. The adhesive it came with didn't do well in the heat then we used a stronger double sided tape that has worked for well over a year. The magnet to the metal on the case has never been a point of it falling off for us.

      @@AllAboutRVs There is a tire minder lite app in the android store so I assume it would work. I don't have tire minder so I can't test it out. I too am trying to declutter the dash. Would be nice if there were either a tablet or better yet all these apps would work with android auto and car play. IMO you need a dash cam, TPMS, RV friendly GPS and back up camera that all integrate into one screen with voice activation to switch between the apps.

    I retired from being a professional driver. YOU have far to many distractions. Stop every 300 miles : stretching your legs and monitor your equipment. All that SHIT on Your dash will cause you to lose any court case where U are deemed “at fault “.
