I definitely understand why Ed cried. I find myself tearing up every now and again listening to these tunes. This boy is going to single-handedly save rock music like his father did in the late 70's.
I can't disagree. He's had several years to work on these tunes but they ALL Kill! It's ALL there though. Singing, writing, playing, production. I haven't been this excited for a "New" artist in Years!!!!!!

I know his dad and Uncle are Eddie and Alex Van Halen, but this has a Foo Fighters flavor to it, which is also awesome! Kid is ridiculously talented. Glad to see him taking the Van Halen mantle and running with it! The best is yet to come. VH forever!

@David Digital I heard that same phone call EVH had with Stern. Eddie knew Wolf was gonna do something big, something great. He kept saying, "this kid is dangerous". When Robin asked him if he was just saying that because that's his kid, all Eddie would say is "you'll see". Damn he is right! Wolf has gotten everyone to stop, listen & pay attention ❤🙌☺☺

This has such a great, hooky, California heavy pop rock/powerpop vibe to it. Like, every part is a hook! So fantastically written.
Ikr? One of the valid critiques of rock and metal is that in the past 20ish years its forgotten how to have fun. Or at least how to not always be super depressing and heavy.

I blame Nirvana for the depressing tone of rock since the early 90's. It had its place then and Nirvana had some great songs but the whole grunge thing was very depressing.

I'd say its more to do with gatekeeping and either your music needs to be hardcore/metal or appease boomers who stopped listening to new music after 1989. Also the world is getting ALOT shitter and entire generations are getting fucked over and its being expressed in the music. But every 20-30 years things come back in style. Bands like Oasis and even the pop punk scene are almost 20 years old now and its coming back in style
I'm just now reading Valerie's book, "Enough Already" and on page 192 she states that, "Think It Over" was Eddie's favorite track of his son's album. "The lyrics are about regret and looking back on past mistakes. By this time, though, Ed has clearly thought things over, made his peace, and all that matters to him is being with his son." Beautiful.

No Pitch Correction, made by a human being.. most likely without a click track.. this is great music for people who like Music.. the real deal .. thanks Wolfgang.
There'd be some pitch correction to be fair, that's just the modern sound when mixing songs these days. But he can sing without it, that's for sure.

Nonetheless, all modern recordings use pitch correction to one degree or another. You only hear it as an effect when the correction speed parameter is set very high.

This reminded me a little of "I can't stop lovin' you" from Balance. The song really grew on me after the first listen now I can't get it out of my head. I felt Eddie's spirit in this too.

I look at him and always think of me and my dad (my dad is still alive) but he’s the one who got me into rock whenever I was like 5 (now 32) and it’s something I will always have the special bond with him.being able to be like “hey dad check this song out” and we are both just jamming to it is an amazing feeling. My world will be turned upside down without him in it knowing their bond just reminds me of mine with my dad.

I'm 56 and a lifelong VH fan since late 70s. The last CD I bought was 1984 remastered about 4-5 years ago. But this June 11th I'll be buying Wolf's new album - every track I've heard so far is just great. The Van Halen legacy continues...alive and well with the next generation.

I have no idea what it feels like to lose a father as my dad turned 85 years old today. Older guy here, just stumbled across Mammoth and and pleasantly surprised. Blend of late 90s' to 2010-ish sound but a little more powerful, and brings more of a rock-sound. Love it.
