  • I went to Northern Cape to look for the rural areas to explore and I found myself partying with the rich in middle of nowhere at a farm in Hartswater, Northern Cape, South Africa. Watch this video and learn about Northern Cape. It is not what you think it is.

The Northern Cape is desert and semi-desert. It's always dry.
The people are Tswana-, Afrikaans-, & Xhosa-speaking.
Many people in the wider Cape are lighter-skinned than your average person in the North-East of the country. (e.g. KZN, Mpumalanga &Limpopo) where people often look more dark.
In the Western part of the country (and all the way into Namibia) Afrikaans is spoken as a lingua franca in the way that English is as well.
Northern Cape is extremely sparsely populated.

Amazing content as usual sisi Velile. Love your adventures. My rural tip, lol , sorry I am a bit of a shy guy. Lol
From the N2 off ramp to Jozini. Enjoy seeing the meanders. Then take a short left at Tiger Lodge and get some Spa treatment at its Mangwanani.
Then take pics even after passing the big Jozini bridge. Then head to Ndumo game reserve and visit the soldiers' base next door.
Then tour the Mandla Mthethwa boarding school. Then head to eManyiseni where you will get an overhead view of Swaziland. Some villagers also walk to Matata to do some shopping.
(There is also Border Cave and Usuthu Gorge if your 4by4 is allowed to enter)
This is a rich rural experience suggestion. I was shy and reluctant in sharing it. Lol. Thanks sisV.
