It's also way less effective than stuff like Power Bounce/Multibonk, which can easily cause damage in the double digits. Bow's Slap was balanced by the fact it was a multi-hit, making it ineffective against enemies with Defense. Yoshi's Ground Pound works closer to that.

@@gravity8120it's because her skills are semi useless in the modern age of the internet where we can Google all the treasures plus she only has love slap in battle arsenal. Smooch is fine but you can heal Mario in other ways or dodge with Vivian and stealing badges and items is not super helpful if you have the item or badge already.

All that sounds great on paper, but then you have Goombella, Baby Yoshi and Vivian, who you get through the story, have more useful abilities and you may have upgraded already. It's really a case of "why should I use a newcomer when my team is already stacked?". She tells you where treasures are, but let's face it, people nowdays will look the location of hidden stuff online instead of doing it themselves. In this case, Internet killed the Mowz. There is one thing about Mowz that actually makes her useful, as seen in the video - since she can't do too much against bosses aside from attacking or healing Mario with the cost-heavy Smooch, she can get to use Appeal to fill up the SP. Other partners always seems to have something else/better to do.
Honestly, I was half-expecting the cursed run to cap off with the all Dull Bones audience and go kaput right there for lack of SP. However, with how impressively you performed here (Supernova BM included), I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to work around Dull Bones with Appeals. Good stuff.
It might've not mattered too much since Koop relegated Mowz to Appeal duty due to Love Slap generating basically no SP anyway. Would've taken longer for sure though.
The man not only started the fight with bonetail with everything low, but managed to max both hp and fp using only sweet treat. Not to mention being using the considerated worst partner in ttyd.
I keep noticing a lot of things about Mowz feel off, her reaction to Bonetail included. I wonder if they tune her up in the remake. They already changed the dialogue a little bit.

@@XavierTheFallenHuman So here's my understanding of it: When Mario and his partner are attacked in quick succession of each other, whichever defensive action is taken by whomever is in the front will also act upon whomever is in the back. But if for some reason one of these attacks misses the front character, but hits the back character, the game will instead use the last defensive action that had occurred to determine which defensive action that character should take. In the timestamp that I was talking about Ms. Mowz superguarded the breath attack because at 5:58 Mario superguarded the stomp, and no more defensive actions took place within that time frame. Conversely, if he'd been hit by the stomp he would have also been hit by the breath for the same reason. I was just confused because I thought that the game wouldn't know what to do if this happened, and would always make you take damage by default. But I guess I was wrong about that. Been playing this game for eight years now, and I'm still learning new things about it lol.

This proves that ms mowz isn't bad, you just need to be smart when you put her on the stage. She feels more like a support partner and besides, having someone who can heal mario is really useful when ur low on items.

Looking a lot like a Prologue Pit of 100 Trials Bonetail fight, this. Mostly the Sweet Treat spam. Tbh I always thought you HAD to do Love Slap's Stylish command to generate extra SP; it generates like nothing on its own since the crowd boo it for whatever reason (maybe they just hate Defence piercing moves).
I always assumed it was because the game interpreted the first "hits" of Love Slap as attacks that do 0 damage, and thus the entire attack gets the "failed attack" penalty for some mysterious reason
@robertwyatt3912 it's a remake. The assets are completely new, so it makes it a remake. A remaster would just be scaling it up and making sure it works, while adding QOL improvements. A re-release is a remaster but without the QOL, and a re-imagining is a different game with the same plot and characters.

1. SPOILERS: This was not a real challenge run, hence why I call it cursed. I used cheats to give myself random-ass stats and warp myself to Floor 99 just to set up a ridiculous one-off scenario where Tease might be useful. (And that fight still took 10 tries... so f*** Tease and its uselessness even in that situation.) I was also not planning to do the Bonetail fight, but seeing how well the Floor 99 video did, I thought why not. 2. Does not give extra SP.

Actually, you can't play a muted game blindfolded, not even with muscle memory, it's impossible in 99% of the existing games (Yes, there are a few games that are possible without knowing what's going on, but those are special cases or extremely short games)

It would make a lot of fights in the early-mid game easier, not to mention that it's literally just a permanent Spite Pouch, making the entire Item obsolete... although all of these arguments are invalidated by the first thing I said. REMAKE SPOILERS I know this doesn't apply to this version of the game, so feel free to ignore this part, but there's also 1 new fight you're intended to do during the post-game, which the badge can help for. There's also another one only accessible at the bottom of the Pit after beating Bonetail, and Return Postage could help on the way (although not for the actual boss.)

just sharing in case it's niche knowledge, but when you do Mario's stylish command and backflip after the hammer, you can also tap A when he lands and get a second "stylish" command (he raises his hands up like an acrobat doing a perfect dismount). A lot of attacks actually have multiple "stylish" opportunities that you can stack. Koops' powershell breakdance can end with a pose if you press A as he's ending the spin, for example, and headbonk type attacks let you press A at the apex of the jump one time after each bounce off the enemy, or with some characters, the chance for the second "stylish" command is available during walk back across the stage, etc. With the power hammer, you can actually do a ton of backflips one after another and get a special sound effect when you do the last "dismount" pose. Idk, just play around with it, there's a lot more button spamming available than you'd guess at first glance
they know about 2nd hammer stylish and I expect the other stylishes as well - for hammer they didnt choose it as it doesnt give extra sp. Guess the same for the other abilities
