- If I could condense everything you need to know about graphite pencils as a beginner into a single 9-minute video, it would look something like this :)
This is a 'lite' version of my recent graphite pencils class on Skillshare. If you'd like to follow in more detail and complete the class project, you can grab 30 days free Skillshare membership with the link below!

I think I have said it before but you are the very best art teacher on you tube. Nothing is left out. And the videos are perfectly put together. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing.
As a (primarily) graphite artist, I must say that I work differently. I used to work from the lightest pencil to the darkest, but it just didn't work for me that way. Whether I do people or animals, I started working in sections. For ex. I start with one eye, and finish the eye. Then I'll move on to the area around the eye and finish that. And I move around the portrait like that until I'm completely done.
In doing so, I can work up to the previous finished bit and I struggle less with the 'ugly stage.' I've gotten questions from people on this method when sharing progress pics on my IG, but I can't say anything more intelligent than 'It just works for me' :)
Thank you for your videos. You are very good at explaining the Whys for each thing you do.
You are the best in this thanks
Love your videos they're well explained and great, thanks👍🏻
So well explained! Thank you! ❤
Your ipad case looks funny 😊. I like your videos, thanks
I’m sight impaired so I have to begin drawing with 4B or I can’t detect where my outline is . But it seems to work out when I lay down darks first then bring in my lighter pencil marks
How do you find the Goldfaber compared to the 9000 pencils, comparing similar shades rather than comparing the same stamped grade.
Do you spray with a fixative?
Are your classes different than in your Patreon?
You are very beautiful.
