I didn't listen to this video. I only saw the title, and then I seen your comment because it was on top. And I don't know or care about what he had to say. But I know this. If he was saying that Jesus is the Angel of Jehovah/the LORD, then he's absolutely right about that. And here's where you can find that. Zechariah 12:8 it says "In that day the one who is feeble among them will be like David and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of Jehovah/the LORD that goes before them. So this is a two part verse. Answer the first part of the verse and it gives you the answer to the second part. And the reason it's a two part verse is because of the comma that splits it in the middle. So let's look at what the first part says. The house of David will be "like" God. Who in the lineage of David is most like God from David all the way down to Jesus???
The answer is Jesus. Jesus is most like God.
And this answer gives you the answer to the second part of the verse which says "will be like God, like the Angel of Jehovah/the LORD that goes before them. That comma is a continuation of the sentence and it means that whatever the answer is for the first part is the answer to the second and here's where you can find where the Angel goes before them. Exodus 23:20, 21(it's actually in Exodus 3 times but this one is my favorite, you can find the others at 14:19 and 32:34) so here's what 23:20,21 says "I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you on your way into the place I have prepared for you, Pay attention to him and obey his voice, do not rebel against him for he will not pardon your transgressions because my name is in him.
So he said my name is in him. Do you know what Jesus' name means?? It means Jehovah is salvation. His name is in him. Huh!! And what Angel has the Power to not pardon transgressions?? Jesus has that power for sure. Here's what's up. Jesus is the Angel that spoke to Moses in the burning bush and he is the Angel that wrestled with Jacob in Genesis and he is the Angel that spoke to Balaam and appeared to Balaam's donkey, and he's the Angel that spoke to Manoah in Judges. This is why Jesus is called the WORD of God because he speaks for God. John 5:37 says, "You have neither seen his form, nor heard his voice at any time." So if no one has heard God's voice then that means that it's Jesus speaking for Jehovah his father. Don't be fooled by your religion that says differently. Jesus is the greatest thing that God ever Created

2:56 tovia's argument is borderline dishonest. The term "angel" both in Hebrew and Greek simply means messenger. it's a functional term which simply denotes function or role. based on the surrounding context, it can refer to humans and created spirits. (humans:- Gen 32:3 James 2:25 spirit creatures Gen 28:12 Mathew 4:6 Deity Gen 31:10-13)
in Heb 1, the entire point of the author is to show how The Son is greater than the angels. the ones being called "angels" are spirit creatures. it explicitly says that in Heb 1:14
" Are not all angels *ministering spirits* sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? " Heb 1:14
the ones being called angels in the context are created ministering spirits. we don't claim The Angel of The Lord is a ministering spirit, but The Lord.
plus, by quoting Psal 104:4, the author identifies the angels spoken of in the chapter as creatures who were made by God, to be like flames of fire. which means the ones who are being called angels in the context are created spirit beings.
" In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants *flames of fire* " Heb 1:7
Singer is outright lying about the christian position. The Son is greater than spirit creatures. because he is deity as to his nature. the reason he was called "Angel" in the old testament is because he was the messenger of The Father
    Jesus is the truth!

The age of the LLX, as translation from a Hebrew text that’s older than the masoretic text they use, reads differently from the masoretic text that they use to formulate their arguments against Christ. There are a hand full of masoretic text that support the English translations in support of Yeshua being moshieachk. The Dead Sea scrolls is another witness against them.

    Dr Brown, Greetings.
I am a Christian and a believer in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ but I do not believe in the Triune God doctrine you Trinitarians believe in as I believe this was a latter doctrine imposed on the church and to which the vast majority of independent scholarly sources have confirmed - including Catholic Trinitarian sources themselves. I agree with you regarding the messiah being prophetically spoken about in the OT and I disagree with Rabbi Singer regarding his claims in this regard and you have made very good arguments refuting his claims in this regard.
However, I believe that the point Tovia makes in Heb 1:5 is a valid point which still stands and which I do not believe you refuted. The scriptures clearly say:
    Heb 1:5
    New International Version
For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father"? Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?
Your argument that the angel of the LORD in the OT is a special and unique angel does not invalidate the point Tovia makes. The point is that all angelic beings are in that same class of "Elohim" (angelic non human beings) - whether we are referring to angels such as Michael, Gabriel or the Malak in the OT called the Angel of the LORD, etc. They all would fall under the category of "angels".
Therefore, if the scriptures say that God NEVER said to ANY of the angels "“You are my Son; today I have become your Father", then it becomes self refuting to say that Jesus was the angel of the LORD in the OT or that would make the Hebrew writer a liar. If the Hebrew writer understood that Jesus was that angel of Yahweh in the OT, he would have acknowledged that exception in Heb 1:5 but he clearly said that God never said to ANY angel at any time (he NEVER gave any exception), thus confirming that the angel of the LORD in the OT cannot be the same person as Jesus of the New Testament.
    Blessings

The NET Bible comments on Genesis 16:7:
“Some identify the angel of the Lord as the preincarnate Christ…
However, it is more likely that the angel merely represents the Lord; he can speak for the Lord because he is sent with the Lord’s full authority. In some cases the angel is clearly distinct from the Lord (see Judg. 6:11-23). It is not certain if the same angel is always in view. Though the proper name following the noun ‘angel’ makes the construction definite [grammatically], this may simply indicate that a definite angel sent from the Lord is referred to in any given context. It need not be the same angel on every occasion. Note the analogous expression ‘the servant of the LORD’ which refers to various individuals in the OT.”
Similarly, in Deuteronomy 15:17 God commands masters to take an awl and put it through the ear of a servant.
The Hebrew here literally says “the awl,” but are we to suppose there was one specific awl that was kept since the time of Moses and used all the time?
    Of course not.
Also, the Bible speaks of plural “angels of God” (Gen. 28:12; 32:1); these are clearly the same as angels of the LORD (see Ps. 103:20).

Meaning of God is One clearly explained in simple terms….
What does it mean when god says that he is one? Does it mean one person? Not necessarily, in all of scripture (old and new testament) god doesn’t describe himself as one person. One can mean many things. For example, the United States of America, there is only one America but it consists of multiple states. Another example is the word Family. Family is singular, but by definition it means 2 or more persons. So when the word family is used, it always implies 2 or more persons. The word god used in the Old Testament is the word ‘Elohim’, which is understood as a singular sense, but by definition it’s plurality in one. We should allow god to define what one god means. God clearly reveals himself as One god (Elohim), which consists of the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit, and that there is no other god besides this god which he has revealed. Just as when you say there is only one family (multiple persons) living on that street, when god says he is one god (Elohim), by definition it’s plurality in one, and as he has clearly revealed the plurality within the one is the father, son, and Holy Spirit, Or in the Old Testament as Lord, another lord or angel of the lord, and spirit of the lord/god. When we hear the word one applied to god we mistakenly assume one person, when this is not how god defines himself in the Bible.
Plus on top of that, the word one used in Deuteronomy 6:4 is the word ‘Echad’ which can mean compound unity. Echad is the same word used in genesis 2:24, a man and his wife shall become one (Echad) flesh. 2 become one. The father, son, and holy spirit are in perfect eternal unity.
Read the below statement again in light of the Hebrew words used and in light of all of god’s revelation of himself in scripture, and who god is should be crystal clear….
Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God (Elohim - plurality in one), the Lord is one (Echad - compound unity)!”

God bless you, Dr Brown. I’m right there with you, shoulder to shoulder as a brother in Christ. I guess what gets confusing is angels are an actual category of being, actually below humans on the pecking order, if you want to put it crudely. So when Scripture states that God appears as an angel, I think that phraseology is unfortunate (not to be critical of the writer) because it can make a reader think that God is an angel. He’s no such thing. He’s God. But I’m not going to argue with the writer because I have no such right. Obviously God can do as He pleases. I guess in the end the message can be that it’s trying to convey that Jesus (Christophany) is the Angel. I need to think and study more on this. But thank you so much for what you do. God bless you

Although salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection is clearly written many times in the Old Testament, it was not clear to Old Testament people. Why? This is explained in the following verses:
1 Corinthians 2:7-8 No, we declare God's wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
In other words, Jesus had to keep the salvation plan secret. If he told the evil leaders and demons that they would lose by killing him, then they would not have killed him. He couldn’t kill himself because that would be the suicide sin.
One apparent (not real) Bible contradiction is that many times the Bible records an angel speaking to someone, and then it says God is talking with the person. For example, Exodus 19 and 20 say God himself gave the Ten Commandments to the Israelites, but Acts 7:53, Galatians 3:19, and Hebrews 2:2 say the Law was given by angels. How do we resolve this apparent contradiction? The answer is given in Revelation 1 and 22. In these chapters, an angel talks with the apostle John and gives John a vision in which Jesus is talking with John. If someone speaks a message to you through a television, who is giving the message - the television or the person? The answer is both because the person is speaking to you through the television. Angels often delivered messages through visions, and in the visions, Jesus (God in a body) spoke with people. Who gave the message - the angel or Jesus? The answer is both because Jesus spoke with the people through visions given by angels.
However, Jesus himself appeared in Old Testament times. For example, Genesis 19:24 says, “Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven.” In this case, the LORD in the form of a person who was walking on earth and had just talked with Abraham called down sulfur and fire from the LORD in Heaven. The LORD walking on earth was Jesus, and he called down fire and sulfur from either God the Father in Heaven or himself, because he is everywhere. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” and the “only begotten” in the Greek means unique, one of a kind. Although Christians are children of God, Jesus is the extra special unique Son of God who created the universe. Since Jesus is the unique Son of God and God in a body, when someone sees God in a body, he is seeing Jesus. Jesus said Abraham had seen him in John 8:56, which says, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.” Jesus said Isaiah had seen him in John 12:41 “Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him.” Abraham saw Jesus in Genesis 18 and 19. Isaiah 6 records how Isaiah saw Jesus.

If the name “Angel of the Lord” (Malakh YHVH) was exclusively used for the same divine angel every time in the OT, you could have a point in coming to the conclusion that its the pre-encarnate Yeshua. However, the opposite is true. Malakh YHVH is NOT an exclusive name. It is also used of humans who act as agents of YHVH.
Malachi 2:7 (NKJV) “For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, And [people] should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the LORD (Malakh YHVH) of hosts.
Haggai 1:13 (NKJV) Then Haggai, the LORD’s messenger (Malakh YHVH), spoke the LORD’s message to the people, saying, “I [am] with you, says the LORD.”
As you can see, humans are also called the Angel of the Lord which automatically rejects the idea that its has to be the pre-encarnate Yeshua. Who is Angel of the Lord then? Its angel who God sends as his personal agent or representative. Under the Jewish Law if agency or Sheliahut, the agent is endowed with the name, power and authority of his sender. What ever the agent says or does, it’s just as if the sender himself said it or did it. With this understanding, it explains how the angel who has been sent as the agent or angel of the Lord is able to speak and act as YHVH himself without having to merge the Angel of the Lord with God Almighty. The very first verse of the book of Hebrews also discredits that Yeshua is the Angel of the Lord.
    Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV) 1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by [His] Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
This verse clearly sets the parameters of when the Son aka Yeshua has spoke to us. It is clear that it is at this last days, God has spoken to us through his Son who also came in the name, power, and authority of the Father as the agent of the Father. This automatically means that the Son did not speak as the Angel of the Lord in the beginning of human history.
    Just food for thought.

True ! But this angel of the Lord is nothing but Metatron that has the same numerical value as
      " SHaDaY" = 314.
      God dwells in Metatron ,
He governs the universe through Metatron ,Metatron is the door to get you to God , Metatron is the way to him , Metatron knows the hidden ,the deepest , the inner part of the Torah ( something only Messiah knows) , Metatron is called " YHVH ha katan " , and some sources say that when Melech Mashiach comes he will be the incarnation of Metatron , because he will reign not only on Earth but the entire universe.
Some sources mention that Metatron is Mashiach Ben Yosef above , ...
And there are 02 Metatron one is connected to the soul of Mashiach Ben Yosef ( the one who has always been in heaven ,the most powerful,...)
      And one is Enoch .
If you read those sources about Metatron , it's like you read the Brit Chadasha .

This is the straightforward logic that leads many away from the christian idolatry and man worship to righteousness. That is the thing with lies. They all build on themselves. You caught his lie. Be thankful this is not 1,000 years ago. You would have been burnt at the stake for your logic.

@@ChristianGirlwhoLovesJesus look into the hebrew principle of agency Sheliajut. This is found all over the Hebrew scriptures and New Testament. Under this principle, the agent is authorized to speak and act on behalf of his sender as if he was the sender himself. This means that the agent can seem to be identified as the sender but they will always be two separate entities. The sender can not be the sent one.

I’ve watched a few of Tovia singers videos. His arguments are very very confusing and they don’t flow at all. It feels like he’s making things up as he goes along. And there are many many times that he is blatantly lying about the messianic movement and the New Testament. Plus I’ve noticed he has a bit of a pattern. I’ve looked at his entire list of videos on CZcams. The majority of his videos are about him trying to “debunk Jesus”(not much else) and debating People who are either newborn Christians, believers who think the Torah should be ignored, or pastors who do not fully study the Torah. I have not seen him have a second debate with Rabbi Brown here or with any other Messianic rabbi(like rabbi Schneider, Baruch Korman, Jonathan Cahn, etc). I’ve seen his debate with Rabbi Brown from 1991 on a CZcams video and Rabbi Singer didn’t do well. Actually I’ve only seen Rabbi Singer debate one other messianic rabbi(I think it was from 95) but I will admit that rabbi was very rude to singer. That rabbi kept on interrupting singer but Rabbi Brown was very very polite in his debate. So yeah Rabbi Singer is not a reliable source. I’m still sticking with Yeshua 🕎 and nobody can change my mind.

If you would have studied the word of God then you would have realized

      2)jesus can't be a sacrifice.
      3)Jesus cant redeem the wicked
4)the woman who is to give birth in the book of Isaiah is actually the wife of Isaiah and not a futuristic Mary. The text even specifies that the woman had intercourse which resulted in pregnancy.

@@yashawngray9289 and like I said before Singer is a hypocrite. Yes it’s true ancient Christians did take Bible verses out of context. Every single Messianic Rabbi teaches this. Historical fact. But singer does the same thing & he makes a lot of bizarre claims with no historical evidence. For example: he actually said that the apostles faked their deaths. There is not a single bit of historical evidence for that and if you really think about it the apostles had nothing to gain from “faking” their deaths. Then he says “The synagogue of the enemy” verse from the book of revelation is antisemitic but no it’s talking about congregations that welcome evil world ways(that goes for mega Christian churches, Catholic Churches, and synagogues). So yeah Singer is not a reliable source when it comes to studying the Bible.

WHEN GOD HARDEN SOMEONE’S HEART, ONLY HE CAN UN-HARDEN IT.
The primary reason Jews reject Jesus as the Messiah is because (as a whole) God has blinded their eyes (Romans 11:7-8) and hardened their hearts for a season to allow the fullness of the gentiles to come into God's kingdom.
(Romans 11:25) This is part of God's sovereign plan of salvation and until God's timing is complete that national blindness and hardness will not change.
