- For sure madaming kainan at inuman these past few days. At kung napadami ang inom nyo, one of the best hangover cures is a savory and hearty meal of Pares.
This classic Filipino dish is easy to cook, and will surely hit the spot the morning after all the celebrations.
The ingredients for this are:
Beef Tendon / litid
Star Anise
Bayleaf
Ginger
Soysauce
Onions
Scallions
Water
Garlic
Brown sugar
Salt
Ground black pepper

I tried Pares today at work because we had a cook off of Filipino best loved dishes. When I was studying at UST I used to see a food stall iin QC selling Pares and it was full of taxi drivers. I was so scared then to try it because I thought it was not for the faint hearted haha as almost all customers were men. I really liked the flavor of Pares it is similar to a Chinese braised beef noodles rendolent of star anise flavor. I'll try to cook your version as it is made of tendon am sure it's really yummy.

Mr. Goma pwede mo buksan preasure cooker kaagad basta patuluan mo lang sa gripo ng at least 30 seconds to 1 minute. ganon ang palagi kong ginagawa..it works everytime👍

super fave ko po un beef tendon. masarap din sya with noodles like in Din Tai Fung. thanks for cooking. un pong Tondo Ugbo, hype lng po pero panget po dun. Mahal pero hindi masarap. Un nasa Salcedo Market in Makati winner po dun. Pero only during weekends. More power po regards sa wife nyo and daughter ❤❤

My mom used to cook this for me as a child! (G-d bless her soul) And she said she has learned this recipe from my grandfather (her father in-law who was Singaporean).
Her additional recipe included:
1. Peanuts
2. Boiled Eggs
3. Bay Leaves
If I am not a vegetarian, I would love to indulge in this recipe but a caramelized version, with an extra garlic fried rice !Who ever said vegetarians never, ever, fantasizes about meat? 🤗

Looks scrumptiously good. Can you add any veggie of choice? I cringed at the pouring of salt. That's a lot of sodium. Not good for people with high blood pressure. It a sure can spike it up. Just something to be wary about. Thank you for sharing your video.
