- Hopefully these help you, they are shortcuts I use all the time! Keep in mind they are only windows shortcuts - Mac users may have different ones! Here's the list, in case the video got a little confusing:
B - Brush tool
While using Brush tool:
Ctrl - Eyedropper
V - Line
Selections:
Ctrl + R - Rectangular selection tool
Ctrl + Shift + R - Freehand selection tool
Ctrl + Shift + A - Deselect
While using Selection tools:
Shift - Add to selection
Alt - Remove from selection
Another fast way to deselect: Just tap a pixel while using the rectangular selection tool
Drag - Spacebar + Drag, OR double click button on Wacom pen
Zoom - Ctrl + Spacebar + Drag, OR Ctrl + double click button on Wacom pen
Shift + Backspace - Fill with foreground color
wow i just found you and already learnt some useful tips, I'm trying to make animations of my own and this has helped a lot. Thanks!
glad to be able to help :)
Excellent -- very useful, thanks! The one really cool one for me is when the brush tool is selected and you can shift-drag to change the size of the brush. Also re moving and zooming canvas -- on my Surface two finger gestures can move/rotate/zoom which I find a lot more convenient and natural than using shortcuts. Anyway, it's really useful to see the workflow of an accomplished artist -- thanks!
oh that's awesome! i have never had a surface, that function sounds super convenient. thanks for the feedback
To anyone watching on Mac command is the substitute for control

Actually really useful because im trying to make a animation channel and school is starting so im trying to find any way to use shortcuts even if only saves 1 second (can you suggest any names as well because i cant really find a good name to stick with me thx)
hmmm xD i'm not so great with names. i think what you have is fine, and if you think of something better in the future you can always change it
thanks so muchh
no problem :)
Thanks dude
np :)
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHHHH
No problem :)
hi great video, it's really useful to learn a few shortcuts, do you know if there is a shortcut for inverse selection?
try Alt+S to bring up the selection menu, and then pressing " i " for invert selection
@@choknater thank you so much it works perfectly
sweet good to hear
hi, thanks for ur tips!
but, why ctrl+shift+R doesn't work for lasso in my krita, do you have another shortcut for freehand lasso?
and can u tell me what is the shortcut for colorwheel?
i actually don't remember the default shortcuts for those.. but you can find most settings and set the shortcuts yourself in Settings -> Configure Krita, and then go to Keyboard Shortcuts and also Canvas Input Settings.. Canvas Input Settings is where you can change the shortcut for the color wheel.
how do you us ctrl+shift+R, I try and export the mirrored halves of my work and only the original drawn parts came through, is there a way to make the copied halves permanent and also remove any artifacts?
hm are you talking about using the mirror tool?
@@choknater No, but thanks. I'm talking about the copy and paste tool, I use that for mirroring only some parts of my work. However I noticed it doesn't show up in the save... so I wanted to know how to make the copied parts permanent?
are you toying with the people here to learn.
What do you mean by toying?
I know undo is "ctrl+Z" but what is the shortcut for redo?
ctrl+shift+z
is there a way to use my stylus button as hotkeys? it doesn't seem to register the input from my stylus and since my laptop folds down into a tablet form i cant use the keyboard lol
ah interesting. i've never used anything like that so i can't speak from experience.. it could be two things, either look up krita's compatibility with your tablet, or mess around in the tablet driver settings and see if everything's working properly
@@choknater ive been looking, ive got the surface studio laptop and the new slim pen, there is this oldish app i can download that remaps the pens hotkeys to actual windows buttons like shift and f for example, but the apps old and clunky and doesnt include the slim pen. Only older models. The only thing i can change about the buttons from windows itself is what app they open up which is super lame 🥲 for now i dont think i have much of a solution haha ill just click all my buttons like an ape 🐒
How do I undo an action? I see you making lines all over your art and undoing them, how do I do this?
Nevermind found it when you replying to someone else about the same problem, thanks for the help! (Not being sarcastic)
ok great!
Can u plz tell bro
@@PIZZLOW IDK if you still wanna know but its ctrl-z to undo something, or you can set up on your tablet pen(if you have one) on one of the buttons to do it for you
@@skree4661 thank u my boy
Is there a way to make these shortcut to the photoshop's one? I mea I try to edit it but seems not working
Which shortcut? It seems like some shortcuts cannot be edited, namely the top menu bars like File
@@choknater Yeah that's y Krita is hard to use, I mean the brushes it's incredible but not ez to use... I am a Sai user but Sai's shortcuts r similar to photoshop for example I can't use my tablet wheel to zoom in and zoom out in krita it's not handy to me
how do I appear the undo and redo arrows in krita
Settings > Toolbars Shown > File
Pls show us how to undo and redo in animations
what do you mean? isn't it simple ctrl+z and ctrl+shift+z?
Im using it on android and unfortunatelly i cannot assign shortcuts easily for some reason....it always forces me to press either cntrl or shift plus a letter to assign..instead of just one letter...its irritating as hell
dang i see. i never used it on android before so i didn't know that was a thing :(
how do i find the senter of the layer?
usually the best way to find the center is to draw an X from the corners
@@choknater oki thank you very much ^-^
What's the shortcut for the eraser tool?
there's two
"E" toggles your currently selected brush into an eraser, on and off
if you have a tablet pen with an eraser side, using the eraser side toggles to a selected eraser brush
@@choknater ay thanks fam
Is there any shortcut to rotate?
yeah! shift + spacebar + click & drag
Is there a shortcut for Pan?
hm do you mean like spacebar and drag? or is that something different?
@@choknater yeah, spacebar and drag really works, thx!
bro you us app name pleas tell me
What? The app is Krita
how do i undo?
ctrl+z
how to undo
@Magical Words thank you♡♡♡♡♡
i feel stupid not knowing how to drag the screen
