For better appreciation on this masterpiece, there is a Vimeo version of this song with english subtitles. In one of her interviews she mentioned this was the most difficult song she ever did.

Sohyang the best!!! Legend fer real!! She is the best powerhouse vocalist in Korea. Period.
Second power vocalist is Ailee, coz she also sang this same song in Immortal Song and won!!!! She sang this song in front of the composer/original singer, Yoon Bok-Hee. And according to Bok-Hee, Ailee was the first singer to sing the 2nd verse in English, as the original singer intended.

Travis, not criticizing at all, just trying to give you a tip that will greatly improve the quality of your experiences. There are identical versions of videos of Sohyang's best performances that have English subtitles. For this particular performance especially, you missed out on half of the impact of this song - and she wants people to hear this message.
In the future, if they are in a foreign language, look for English subtitles - they are usually so marked in the title. If someone gives you a link without them, search for the same performance with them. Enjoy.

Understood - tried to find one - I couldn’t. But - I felt her emotion and enjoyed the song regardless. The verses that were in English I’m assuming have the same themes as those that weren’t. I loved it nonetheless ! :)

Hi Travis. Love your reactions to our Queen So Hyang. I agree, Everyone is probably my favorite performance also but the other performances like Arirang Alone and Bridge Over Troubled Water is not far behind. Believe it or not your journey into So Hyang is not even close to being over if you choose to continue. She has probably another 30 or 40 more phenomenal live performances that will keep blowing your mind. Some of my favorites are Where Are You(Vimeo version), O Holy Night, Fate, As I Live, Breathe, Home, Thousand Days, Hug Me, Mona Lisa, Day Day, My Love, It's Only My World and on and on and on. There are so many it would take too long to write all of them. Take care.

Love your Sohyang reactions :D This is my favorite performance of hers and even though I ve heard it several hundred times, I always cry when the acapella part starts and she talks with that moving voice and then smiles like the sun in the end ♥
I recommend checking her songs either from king of masked singer or her other Begin Again performances. To start, “hug me” from king of masked singer or “misty” from begin again

Nice reaction as always. If you want something (very :)) different, try "Day Day". There are 2 versions, from Masked Singer and Sohyang with friends. Personally I prefer the last one, it's a little bit more elaborated, with duets and so on and also the quality of sound and image seems better.
Also (randomly :)) - Dear Love, Hug Me, Fate, Where Are You and mandatory Monalisa. Pay attention to Where Are You: avoid the video with the interview superposed on the climax of the song, they ruined it.
Speaking about friends, you can check Park Ki Young - Yeonan Pier, an amazing performance, you will like it.
I don't think you have done Day-Day yet from Begin Again Korea-or it doesn't show up for me when I search your channel. Highly recommend that next for a big surprise.

It’s not YANG. It pronounced like SO HYUNG. That A is pronounced as a U. There is a video of her doing the US national anthem at an NBA game, and the announcer says her name perfectly. Go watch that video and react to it if you want, but listen to how the announcer says her name.

Now you MUST listen to Arirang Alone. Before doing that you should google and see what Arirang means. It will help you connect with the song while listening
One thing to "sing from the heart" cause you've been taught/learned how to do it. A completely different thing when you like Sohyang really sings from the heart. After all she's a cancer survivor but it came with a price it made her infertile. Further she has dealt with pnemonia more than once. Concidering all of this you can tell she 100 % means what she sings no fakery here what so ever.
