You can have the same joy from the same God and His son, Jesus Christ. The lyrics are a representation of Jesus talking to us. She is singing Holy Bible scripture as well in the lyrics. You can know him before it's too late.
She starts so soft and beautifully, ramps it up to 70%, to 80%, to 90%, then to 120%, and then 130%, becomes God, and still gives 150, 160, and ends it at 200%. Look at her eyes and her hands… When she sings she’s absolutely the most beautiful person in the universe.
She's a brave cancer survivor who heals others souls and pain with her music. I cry each time, even after years of knowing her! I'm not religious, but her voice is truly divine!
Yes!! I'm not religious either. Her story is still very sweet and uplifiting. If doing this makes her happy and fufills her life then that's what truly matters. I'm just happy we all get the gift of being able to listen to her. Despite not being religious her music and voice bring me to tears.
This singing angel won't give up to sing for people who's got wounded souls.. She is a genuine christian!!!!
The most beautiful part of this song is that the singer(even the original singer of this song does it) briefly pauses the song and ask the audience "then who is comforting me when I'm down?" and in seconds realizes the singer is also at the receiving end of kind humanity from EVERYONE(hence the title). You really feel the endearing heart of the song writer/lyricist Yun Hyang-Gi who wrote this amazing song for his younger sister Yun Bok-Hee. The song was released in 1979 and it was the era of heavy industrialization for South Korea. It was the era Korea grew in material ways, but also long hours of work and the consequent lack of work-life balance created some serious problems. That is why many Koreans consider this song as an ultimate anthem of healing and covered by many artists.
Usually, a song this long will have some kind of instrumental breaks/riffs in the middle.
I have never seen a person sing 7 minutes straight and most of her singing is nonstop, supercharged belting.
This has to be the most physically and emotionally draining performance I've ever witnessed.
If I was sitting there in the crowd, I'd probably think that a miracle was happening right there in the studio.
Nice reaction, in an interview SoHyang said that this is the hardest song she ever worked with, 6-7min of total vocal domination...

The most powerful yet emotional performance I've ever heard...
She pulled tears to more than one. This gospel is one of her most emotional. It's a splendor. No other female Korean singer reaches Sohyang's level. Even Ailee, whom we often see in her videos, is always completely in love. And us too.

ChiZillaaa sure Ailee has the potential. But, (not to diss Ailee) So Hyang has a different experiences and personality (and faith) that has helped her become such singer.
She is queen.. she is both powerful at techniques and also emotion. Her life is so inspirational.. she is devout christian singer who really more like singing to God more than fame/money which make us not much seen her on media/tv in korea even the world stage though she is worldclass singer vocalist ever!! Yet we can ussually see her more often her singing in chtuch or charities. She won from faught with cancer and kept her singing didnt give up in her illness. She is cancer surviver.and to sohyang, her goal is to use her voice to comfort people who are going through difficult times as she been through, these why ppl are emotionally in touch whenever she sing a song....

My goodness! My favorite vocalists of all time have been Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey in the 90's era. I had never heard of this lady, and in my opinion she is at the same level of Whitney and Mariah. Even though I didn't know at the beginning what she was singing about, her powerful voice and soul had me crying. I'm going to start listening to more of her. Why do I cry everytime I hear her sing this song? ㅜ ㅜ
I'm not really a singer, but I've heard that for some singers one of the scariest things is having to sing a cappella, especially when you know the music will come in later and your pitch needs to match. She is doing such a beautiful job here. Absolutely fearless and with abandon, and brings the audience closer in a super intimate moment.....and closes with a heartfelt message of gratitude to her fans (and probably God himself too). An absolutely perfect performance!
You're one of my favorite reactors. I love how you emotionally resonate with her because I do as well. Everyone, is a great gospel song. So full of soul and such a difficult performance but she dug deep and really delivered a spectacular performance from start to finish. Favorite part is the quiet acapella and what sounds like a prayer in the darkness before the lights turn up and we are given an uplifting tempo. I'm glad you used a video with the lyrics because it really brings it home what she is singing about in that context - beautiful lyrics.
Even without understanding the Korean section of the song, you could feel she possibly singing her story , her ups and downs, struggles, self-doubts before she arrived at her current state of being. You could feel through her expressions and hand movements. You could feel she's relating something personal to the audience in the talking section even without knowing what's she saying. Not knowing exactly what it's about yet could feel it's about one's life journey through the ups and downs of the tempo of the song. When a singer did this to you in a foreign language and still bring you on an emotional roller coaster, that shows how powerful the song and her vocals are.
Her testimony is amazing! She was chosen to praise Jesus!

It's one of her secrets why she's master storyteller, capable of invoking emotional response from the audience through volume control manipulation. Impeccable breath management as well (Sohyang admitted that this song is her hardest one in that regard). But, the highlight is definitely the talking part. It's intimate, personal, vulnerable. It's Sohyang the person, the human being, not the singer, who reaches out and made a genuine connection. Bless her. What a singer, nay, human being.
