    the truth is what he says at the end , at the moment they`re about £16 on auction sites , a PROPER 2nd hand chainsaw from the same site BIN is about £20 ...... for £4 do you really want to take the risk ????

    • @amrozh755
      @amrozh755 Před 3 lety

      No. It's quite safe. There's no kick back chain effect. But at first, I was skeptical. Gas power chainsaw have more kickback.
      Managed to chop down 10 18-24" diameter trees before the front bearings got destroyed. It cost only $5 USD in my country now. Last year price was $25. Have ordered 2 sets more and extra 3 chains. 3 chains ia also the same price. Safer if use a trigger type switch and not the normal type usually found on cordless grinder. But the grinder wire need to convert into a longer 10' ones. All my power tools did that

    I just wanted to add, you don’t have to buy a new angle grinder if your spindle is 16mm & the sprocket it comes with is 10mm you can buy on eBay a 16mm sprocket £1.17 free delivery I know as I’ve brought one, it works a treat ( bloody dangerously mind ) you have to be quite brave/ stupid to use one mines working well 👍🏼

      Interesting, thanks for this useful information, ill have a look for that now. Totally agree with the 'stupid to use one', but they are absolutely spot on for a bit of quick cutting action.

    If this is used on a battery operated grinder like a dewalt with the trigger, I can see some use for it. It’s basically a battery operated chainsaw without chainbreak at that point, and it’s small I think it’ll be a little useful tool for very small jobs.

    • @thepoultrypeople
      @thepoultrypeople  Před 4 lety

      Someone on one of the UK groups had done that, they might even have commented here, It was a while ago and I think they actually destroyed the gearbox on theirs, pretty sure it was a Makita as well. Im leaving this on a cheap corded grinder and nothing decent.
      You are right it is a very useful tool as it is though.

    Hi, I bought one.. Great concept, however, mine came with a plastic chain tensioner, at least yours was metalic. Mine appears too dangerous and has become a dust gatheror on the shelf. I agree with your final point - Get a purpose built electric one.

    • @amrozh755
      @amrozh755 Před 3 lety

      Mine is all metal. Five bucks per kit. Five bucks for three extra chains. Much more safer than gas chainsaw as no kickback. Better if it have trigger type switch. Last up tp 10 medium size trees before front bearings got destroyed. Bought another two. I'm not easily impressed. Type of person.

  • @revb0
    @revb0 Před 5 lety +1

    Perhaps you could take the gearbox off the grinder, rotate it 180 so the switch is on top. Some grinders will allow you to do this.
    It would be a lot safer to use then.

    • @shahinportohfeh1446
      @shahinportohfeh1446 Před 5 lety

      revb0 yep 👍🏻 but who you talking to .! The guy open his parcel with Rambo machete 😂😂😂😂 don’t think his IQ is in that level.
      while that plastic handle designed to left hand side but he put on wrong side..!
      This chainsaw grinder adopter designed just like real chainsaw..!!
      Real chainsaw holding grip stays on your left hand side and your right hand holds the switch and bottom ..
      But what he did he wrongly positioned plastic handle to his right hand and switch on/off with left hand which totally wrong.
      I have one on those bought in AliExpress works fine .!
      It’s designed for small branches not for heavy duties.. he cuts logg 😂😂 even in the package says it’s designed for branches maximum diameter 8cm or 3”.... he cuts 6” or 8” thick logg with it and complains...😂😂 made and design China what he expect more 😂😂😂

      Trust me, it's much more safer than gas pedal chainsaw. Use on cordless trigger type for safer work. If wired, need to modify to 30' for safety. The power is much more controllable than the gas powered one. For five buck for the kit, managed to cut down 10 trees before the front roller bearings got destroyed. So good, I bought another two.

    @themorawaboy Před 5 lety +2

    Thepoultrypeople, i think you've overtightened that chain a bit too much in that video. Just my opinion. Generally, a rule of thumb when it comes down to how much you should tighten up the chain on your chainsaw is: if you pull down on the chain, it should leave about a millimeter to two of a gap between the chain and the blade it runs along, but not so much that it exits the groove of the chain run.

    @gangleweed Před 4 lety +1

    Sigh.........you aren't left handed so why don't you re-mount the handle on the left side......this will enable you to hold the angle grinder body in your right hand.....where the on/off switch is....... and the handle in your left hand where you will have much better control of it.
    I bought the 12" EBAY one, sold by Simply Homeware, it comes with 2 chain drive sprockets, and the OZITO cordless grinder with 5 amp hour battery to go with it.

    • @gangleweed
      @gangleweed Před 4 lety

      For anyone who doubts the ability of this cordless angle grinder chainsaw/setup to be any good.....I have been using mine for the last couple of months down the garden chopping up 75-100 mm tree branches for the recycle bin and I can definitely state that it's one of my go to tools for garden tree branch clearance. The battery lasts for several hours between charges......the big advantage is that you can hold it in one hand while using it to saw even the 100mm thick branches.

      Actually it's really safer than gas powered chainsaw. No kickback. Better if the switch is trigger type or thumb must be near the switch at all time. So good for five bucks per kit, bought another two

    Sorry pal, you put plastic handle on wrong side.! Unless you’re left handed.!
    That plastic holding grip stays on your left hand side as you would use as exactly on real chain saw.!
    So once you put chain saw adaptor on grinder it’s not grinder anymore so you can’t operate as you would hold grinder so why kept handle like grinder side.!
    Secondly when you ordered you should habe read description.!
    You should have ordered M16 .!
    Look like you ordered M10 chain wheel.
    Anyways you saying it’s dangerous but depending on what you use it for ... it’s not for logging or heavy duties.
    it has designed for small branches keeping garden trees trimmed ... I have one & put on my battery Grinder and works fine without glitch...
    At the end it’s Chinese made don’t expect more than what you get..
    I have one I know how to use it and I knew what I’m ordering..!!
    So if you concern about health safety so my advice don’t get near to any tools like this.! Buy one regulated safety proved .. €C

Power tools are always dangerous to lunatic people or idiots. Or overzealous clueless reviewer. Trust me. It's safer than gas powered ones and can cut down many treed

      Five bucks for the kit now. Put on my Makita cordless, grinder, more safer than gas powered ones. Grinder with more injuries when used with cheap 4" disc cutting wheels. Quality disc wood cutting wheel will cut hardwood like butter. Cheaper ones will make it jump and smoke

    You have no idea about using a chainsaw. While your tool procedure seems good, have the plug in sight on the bench, your chain saw knowledge is zero. Do not use one without instruction again. The side handle is for horizontal cutting, post top for example. You have no power in your grip sideways, it is the death grip. While there is no chain brake in this case, the top does give some minor added strength. You will only get kickback from driving the tip directly into the wood, top first. If you have to bore cut, start the cut with the bottom of the tip and turn as it buries in. Never ever use a welding glove, it is too thick and if you do get a kick, no way will you control it. Bare hands are safe and strong. Stick to what you know, or ask someone who does. You are giving advice to people that trust you.

    don't buy one. i got one to prune some trees after about 1hour and a half, My dewalt grinder went up in smoke waste of money. Grinders aint designed to have hevery loads put on them.
    and yes they are pretty sketchy i think if the chain did come off it would tear your hand up pretty good

    • @thepoultrypeople
      @thepoultrypeople  Před 6 lety

      Im inclined to agree, it seems like a strange badly thought out product, the fact that you have to use it on a smaller shaft grinder for a start isnt good. I was really worried about the chain coming off and the best i could find was a leather welding gauntlet.
