- The Vancouver Canucks lose to the Los Angeles Kings 6-3, Brock Boeser, Dakota Joshua and Kevin Fiala scored, Nikita Zadorov with some nice plays, we need Thatcher Demko back and Elias Lindholm to be 100% because the Kings play a style that scares me come playoff time, I don't know how I'd feeling going up against them... I really don't wanna see this team again.

Lots of top teams have gone through 4-6 game losing streaks during the 2nd half season Jets, Bruins, Avs, Canes. Chill folks. Skate hard with urgency, create breaks, tighten D, and Demko
My guy, they’ve only won 14 out of 28 games since the All-Star Break. Perhaps this isn’t just a “slump” anymore.

I really don't know what's going on. Where is Petey, the guy who we're paying almost 12 mil to... do nothing? I love him, but come on! Where is the FIRE that this team had pre all-star break? It's breaking my heart that the first time since I've started watching hockey that this team has a chance... it feels like they are squandering it before the playoffs even begin. I know Demko being out hurts us a lot, but the blame is less on DeSmith and more on crappy penalties and worse power play.
THAT SAID. This team is fun to watch when they get going. So many fun players, so much skill. They just need to bring it. Maybe they're just conserving for the playoffs. I hope I can eat my words in a few months when we hoist the cup.
Pettersson only makes 7.35 this year. He’s still playing that well. Muahhahahah

i'm not sure they have another gear. We know that after the all star game, teams ramp up for the playoffs, but the Canucks havent. They cant beat playoff bound teams and look unimpressive against non playoff teams.

The Canucks simply overachieved in the first half of the season due to their high PDO. They were scoring at an unsustainable rate in the beginning of the season. Now that their PDO has regressed, we can see that this team is still missing some pieces in order to be a true contender. People should just enjoy the fact that they finished the season with more than 100 points. We all need to lower our expectations, this year isn’t it. I’m confident Patrick Alvin and Jim Rutherford will improve the team in the offseason.
No. Sure they had a high PDO. But they are also just a good team. People are not enjoying the ride.

they look like a completely different team since the beginning of the season. things just seemed to change after the damn all star break. idk what happened. maybe it was the trade w kuzy that messed with the flow. obvs demmer is out rn and de smith isnt cutting it, but its more than just goal tending rn. it just looks like they dont care. they win against the ez teams and get crushed against playoff teams. how are we supposed to make it passed the first round if we cant compete regular season against teams we will be facing in playoffs. if u wanna have an all around good team star players need to compete, its that simple. our star guys, especially forwards have basically all been duds lately. defence looks pretty shit. hughes is picking up the pieces. hronek has been a ghost, that guy is asking for WAY too much to be playing like he his. the best forwards imo we have rn are hoggy, DK and garland. everyone talking about petey, but i think he will bounce back soon enuf. maybe will be too late, but yeah idk man. shit is weird rn and this is not a good time to be going thru these struggles. maybe beginning or middle of season, but not 2 weeks before the big show.. best of luck to the boys lets try and finish these last couple of games strong!

The star players aren’t playing that well and the coach keeps changing up the lines how are teammates supposed to build chemistry when the lines keep getting shifted
Well two of their star players aren’t playing anywhere near their potential. So I think if Pettersson and Lindholm got back on track, we would feel a LOT better about the team as a whole. Hughes, Miller, Garland, Joshua and Zadorov looking great in my opinion.
@@shizuokaBLUES we have also had a ton of defensive breakdowns leading to goals recently while also having trouble scoring we have been outshooting our opponents in most of the games we lose recently there just not going in meaning we aren’t getting quality scoring chances it’s almost like no one knows where there teammates are supposed to be on the ice
Not sure if they are just changing things around too much and not sticking to the formula that made their offense work. Almost like they dont know where they are supposed to be half the time especially in D. Def need Demko back hes just critical to bail out this team which it seems they need quite a bit. I hope things can turn around and they can get their focus back, I feel bad for DeSmith I think hes a great goalie but the Wild game completely shook him to his core.
They take stupid penalties and cant kill them off thats been tbe biggest issue. Second to the powerplay being almost non exsistant

What do you think of the teams mediocre record again playoff and cup contending teams?
The storyline for quite a few matchups recently seems to have been the lackluster special teams, especially in this LA game and the one versus the stars a wild back. What do you think the Canucks should try to do to increase their PP effectiveness?
Anotther issue that's been a recurring problem is the players taking bad penalties, or simply too many penalties. What's going on, how can this be mitigated?
What's going on with Pettersson? The 11m dollar man look invisible out their, and he isn't driving the play or capitalizing on opportunities he should be.
They are already in the playoff win or lose doesn't matter they are resting and not trying to get hurt before the playoff u will be surprise when they are up to there game when the playeoff starts

Canucks just don't have it this year. They need to upgrade their defense. And one more top six forward. Since Lindhome was a flop. That was a terrible trade. And the turning point for the Canucks season in my opinion. Kuzmenko is tearing it up in Calgary
I notice a lot of passes to nowhere, especially from miller. It is like no one knows where the other guy is anymore, and because of that they have way too many turnovers and give up scoring chances. That has nothing to do with goaltending. That has everything to do with a lack of confidence in your system. These kinds of slumps, if happening in the middle of the season, can be corrected, but I think at this time of year it will be too late to correct it and turn it around for the playoffs. The ONLY hope of Vancouver turning it around is they have to have a good first round, with a few good bounces, and good luck, and then confidence will be back and they will go on a tear.

I feel like they started going downhill after they traded Kuzmenko. Maybe he was they key. It probably affected Petterson the most as they were good friends. Just a thought.
Vancouver got off to a hot start and played way above their sustainable capability (key word here is sustainable) and this padded out the record and lead many Canucks fans to falsely believe/hope the team is much better than it actually is. Having said it, it's a shame most Canucks fans will whine and complain about a first round exit when if asked at the start of the season most would have been happy with a WC spot. The season should be viewed as a step forward for a young team regardless of how it finishes.

PERSPECTIVE TIME: nobody, absolutely nobody expected the Canucks to end this year (after last year’s performance) with over 100 points! Canuck fans need some flipping perspective: people were throwing jerseys on the ice last year! Enjoy the first round, get better next year, build a team!

Sucks they are slumping at the wrong time. They will never get past the first round unfortunately.
Lately the Canuckleheads have been losing the special terms battle and have been really bad defensively. That spells a fall to second in the Pacific and a first round opponent of L.A. or Vegas which spells a early first round exit to the golf course. They just haven't risen their game to contender level. Toch warned them but they got worse. Signing Petey before the season was over was a huge mistake.

The Canucks have struggled against playoff teams the last few weeks. Does not look good for them in the first round. It will be a sort post season for them at this rate.

I said it from the start that they're overrated and nobody believed me. The powerplay is a complete embarrassment. I don't even get excited when they get a powerplay. Then you have useless players like Blueger, Suter and Mikheyev to name a few that don't deserve a roster spot. Also signing Pettersson was a huge mistake.
Why not give Sheldon Dries another shot? I think he's better than Aman or Podkolzin

casey D is losing millions on his next contract if he gets one--Silovs is being protected .3 possiblilities for Petey --injured --peaked last year and is going all louie ericsson--or the league has a book on him--otherwise never seen such a talented player become repeatedly useless like Petey has for 2-3 stretches this year.Not too worried about the team if Demko and Lindholm return 100%.
Canucks are too focused on stick handling, and not enough on spacing and quick passing plays. They try to create too much rather than work with structure. They've got the talent to pull it off, but i dont think it holds up in the playoffs.

Petterson what a bust. Bambi’s gonna get munched in the playoffs he loses the puck he can’t stick handle and his skating is sub-par for the Nhl. Don’t get me wrong I hope he finds his game somehow like a season ago but he just doesn’t look right not worth the money 11 million oh man! What a waist.
Pettersson has been disappointing since the All-Star Break, but JT has also been unnoticeable in the last couple of games.

Hronek is just horrible with defending. That is why Detroit gave up on him. The way forwards just cruise on by him is disgusting. His outbreak passing is very suspect. They are weak and usually off the mark. He gives up way too many turnovers. Oh well.
The refs have been just horrible against the Canucks. Remember a few games ago Zadorov got called for a high stick that never happened? That should have been an embellishment penalty?!! Am I right? How about the Hughes "tripping" where the guy tripped on the Goalie's stick. Then the Zadorov major penalty on the borderline boarding call. There was a call in the Devils/Rangers game that was worse and the refs only gave the guys 2 MINUTES??? what thefyck
As you say in your post, we need Demko back. It's true, but if they keep putting DeSmith in net over Silovs we will keep losing. DeSmith has no confidence because he isn't at an NHL level yet. A few decent saves in the games he's in net, but he buckles as soon as anything is required of him. I can't stand seeing him in net, he's just not ready.
Sad to see such a exciting first half team playing so crappy. Our sharpshooter miss the net half the time. I turned off the 3rd period last night😢
