I am actually glad that Harvey didn't have any panic attack later even when Mike was arrested. Shows how much therapy helped him.
Harvey is known to have panic attacks when some one truly close to him tries to walk out or leave him.... Interesting 🤔
Harvey walking to his office from Jessica's was done so well. The fact he's in his own world, in his own head even, shows what a panic attack truly feels like
It’s that look Harvey gives Mike when he says the second “not now”! The embarassment and also serious ‘help me’. Excellent acting. And the way Harvey snatches the paper at 4:10, that’s soooo realistic during a panic attack because you can’t even breathe

Gotta give props to Mike while Harvey was having a panic attack. He knew something was off almost instantly and started speaking up for Harvey when he did need it which gave Harvey more time to bounce back with such confidence he won against his enemy.
Everyone needs a Mike in their life who has their back through thick and thin.
When Harvey was having the panic attack, he turned his back and hid his weakness from Jack. This is the sign of a true king. Never show your weakness to your enemies. He took his time to gather his conscience and then only he attacked back.

If those were plastic water bottles, I'd use a glass too. Last thing you need is for a hand to clench and shoot water up your nose.
As someone with extreme anxiety who suffers panic and anxiety attacks daily, this was such an accurate portrayal of a panic attack. The way he tugged his collar like he was getting overheated and being choked, and fumbled when trying to get a drink, plus getting choked up when trying to speak. Not to mention it really does feel like everything passes in a swift yet slow motion. You hear what people are saying, but don’t process it. It’s truly terrifying, and I love and appreciate how they portrayed that here.👏👏👏
Night terrors are awful too 😞
Would you mind if I asked you a question about panic attacks and anxiety? I’m genuinely curious, what exactly is it that you’re worried about? It felt like I was having a massive heart attack and thought I was going to die. The pain was incredible not to mention all the other physiological symptoms. So sorry for you, hope you're able to find a way to get better.
@@WayneMercy When I got panic attacks my breathing would get fast, I would start sweating terribly and I didn't know what was going on.
Him snapping out of his panic attack because something else got his attention is such a realistic depiction of what I go through sometimes. I get panicky and start to freak but if something happens in that moment I forget all about it and focus on that. Well done.
The fact that Harvey has his back turned to the other guy(forgot his name) because hes in a weak state and needs time to recuperate before he faces him again to not show any weakness shows Harveys resolve and power.
This is one of the most badass Harvey moments. From having a panic attack to attacking to instill panic. Beautiful transition in mere moments
I had panic attack once and it was the most terrifying thing I ever experienced. I was afraid almost to death for two years that I'll have another one. And I had but second time I was at home so it was easier for me to overcome it.
Even during a panic attack this man still pores water into a glass and won’t just drink from the bottle, that is class
I think it's a technique some people who have panic attacks use, focusing on completing some small task to recalibrate
(He spilt some water and dropped the cap but focusing on and completing the task is what matters)
This show is pure class, it started with the development of these characters and cases and when they dwell into Harvey’s personal life and the other casts it just keeps getting better...Harvey’s panic attack episodes were real dope. Superb acting
This man won't accept defeat at any situation. A real winner
One of my favourite scenes in the show for its incredible acting on the part of Gabriel Macht. Perfectly personifies what it feels like to be in a state of physical weakness when having a panic attack. The red eyes when he turns around and stares out the window, the way he reacts and turns to Jack Soloff and almost stumbles towards him, the way his voice sounds almost out of breath when speaking to him but finally gains his footing and voice to deliver the finishing blow. Just pure master class in acting, direction and just all-around one of the baddest scenes in the series. Wish they had shown when Jack leaves and he goes back to being more vulnerable and Mike is there to have his back and do whatever he needs to do to help Harvey.
Gabriel's acting is truly the stuff of legends
Just Love how Mike Truly Cares about Harvey! ❤️ Probably the Best Bromance ever!
Harvey and Louis get my vote
Not the same show but I'm a fan of JD and Turk from Scrubs myself.
I can't speak for anyone else's experience with panic attacks, but as someone who has suffered a handful himself, this is pretty much spot on. Your peripheral starts to fade, everything becomes fuzzy, you can barely hear anything, your chest tightens, your stomach flips, and you can barely stand up.
Harvey specter is so classy that even during the panic attack he is pouring the water in the glass first.
I had my first panic attack in 2008. It was terrifying. This scene is TOTALLY, totally what a panic attack looks like. Even the part with the water. Amazing research and superb acting. And yes, I hope if whoever reads this has panic attacks, that they are rare and you're in a safe place when it happens.
Harvey is one of my top 5 tv show characters. It's not just the confidence. It's the fact he can switch it on when it needs it. Even in a bluff confidence carries you. Something I've always lacked is confidence, it's nice seeing Mike go from a self depreciating kid to a grown man with a wife and a career he truly earned. I accept in real life he'd go straight to jail, but in his case because it would be true, the end result far outweighed the means throughout his cases and his entire career.
Man that is one perfect suit Harvey's wearing. Even the thickness of the shirt and angle of the collar and the tie dimple are perfect
The look on Mike's face when Harvey says it's a panic attack...it'd be bad enough if he was having a physical issue, but hearing that HARVEY is actually losing it....
This panic attack as someone who had them similiar to these in severity but it lasted much longer I can say this was portrayed to the bone, depersonalization, shortness of breath, blurry vision, light feet, chest tightness, tight throat. They are so strong they can even bring the biggest trees down as seen now. I am also pretty big and fit but when I first started getting these it doesn't matter, you feel smaller than a coffee bean.
I like that Mike knew something was wrong right away, and that Harvey was honest with him as well about it being a panic attack.
And when you said I looked at you as competition, you were wrong. I never looked at you as anything at all.
- Harvey
Giving his best even during a panic attack.
I don't think people appreciate enough how hard it is to string a sentence together when you're in the middle of a panic attack let alone one as coherent as the one that Harvey did
This is the value of habits. If it's ingrained in your unconciousness, you can keep going halfway on automatic.
See also: Gustavo's Fring's last moments.
What Gabriel Macht did in that last scene makes me believe he could have easily pulled off playing Bruce Wayne.
Harvey is definitely Batman
Bold of you to assume, Harvey ain't Bruce and Mike ain't Robin
He was actually one of the casting picks, I think it’s an inside joke how they call him Batman repeatedly
Actually incredible acting.
3:15 this part. This exactly what I saw when I was having a really bad panic attack in my class in high school. Every thing and everyone felt like was in slow motion and blurry. I thought I was going to pass out. And the way he snaps back into somewhat calm when he focused his attention to what the other guy was saying is something I do too when I’m anxious or panicking.
Actually, if we see the entire episodes involving Jack Solof, we will realize he wasn't that bad a guy at all!!
he is just at a bad place at a bad time
He started panicking after donna left him. Soloff doesn't even matter here.
That's right he just had his own ambitions
Yeap! Especially him wanting to change the system so that Harvey doesn't earn so much money. I mean I can't even imagine the amount, they didn't want the other senior partners to find out. We love Harvey but I can see Solof's point of view.
A killer will always have a little something left for the enemy even at his weakest
Some of the best 5 mins in TV history. I'd prefer if they extended this clip by 20 seconds so you can see all the energy drain from Harvey's face and Mike promise to go out and fight for him whilst he recovers.
It’s pretty impressive to be in the middle of a panic attack like that still be able to stay calm and acknowledge the fact he’s just having a panic attack. Everytime I have one im so blown away of the power of my mind over my body I refuse to believe I’m actually having one until I look back on it and realize that’s all it was.
Yes they got it spot on. I’ve had 2 and they both start with sweating and tightness in your chest, I think that’s why he was fixing his collar, to help him breathe. The part I love the most was when he poured the water. I can’t describe it but your hands almost seize up. I remember walking into the emergency room I couldn’t even take my wallet out of my pocket to hand them my ID. The show did a great job. Also funny to note mike asked him if he was having heart attack. I went to the emergency the first time I had one because I thought the same thing.
This depiction of a panic attack actually made me realize that I have had panic attacks. I just never knew what they were like
I’ve had 2 major panic attacks. The way Harvey was walking back to his office is exactly what I felt like when I felt my attack coming on. Tunnel vision. Can’t hear. Weak. Shortness of breath. I hope I never have to go thru that again.
Imagine having someone telling you it could be a heart attack while convincing yourself you’re not having a heart attack….. that would have sent me on a full blown attack
everyone who regularly experiences panic attacks has to deal with that.
4:15 that deep breath there shows pure strength. harvey is a man that commands respect. even under severe pressure and anxiety he finds the power in him to fire back and face the problem head on, i.e. he's a man that won't go down without a fight
look at my guy Harvey, so inspirational
This is a example of Rocky when he recovered quickly to win a fight
For me, this is an incredibly realistic interpretation of a panic attack. Everything slowing down, the inability to breath, the heart thumping so loud it drowns out other noises…. It feels like you’re underwater, unable to catch your breath. Harvey’s panic attacks made me so sad.
Fighting during a panic attack actually helps it. Your heart starts beating like you’ve been running which confuses the brain and panics it. So the best thing to do is to start doing something that makes it beat. Like moving around, light exercise or arguing. Everyone is different and handles panic attacks differently of course but giving your brain a reason for your heart to beat will calm it down and not lead to conclusions like heart attacks which then creates a cycle of panic.
Man has a panic attack and still comes out swinging. What a legend
My favorite part is right after this scene when Mike kneels down next to Harvey to give him his water, and Harvey says he was bluffing. And then Mike says he’ll get what Harvey needs even though he has a big case of his own.

They nailed the panic attack feeling 100%.
Walls seemingly closing in, everyone seems to be bugging you at the same time, everything seems to be falling apart and you know it’s just your imagination but also can’t stop it. You know it’s just in your head but the symptoms are real.

I’ve been in a similar situation. Full on panic attack in the middle of an executive presentation. Sometimes you just take a deep breath and push forward. The key is to just tell yourself you’re not going to die, even though your brain is saying otherwise.

I don't get panic attacks often but I had one while driving my mom home from the train station over half an hour away from home in a city I'd never been with no map or gps. Grey vision, barely feeling my body. I couldn't pull over, I couldn't let it out, had no choice but to stay focused on the road to avoid hitting anyone. Scariest 20 minutes of my life. (Panic really set in 5 minutes in and I calmed down when I was back in known territory.)
I stopped watching this show precisely because it gave me panic feelings. The pressure, the ever looming sense of being under attack and the risk of loosing it all. If you've ever been through that or seen it up close, you don't want to watch anything on tv that reminds you of it.
What caused the panic attack? The distant POSSIBILITY that Mike would leave him. Harvey will never love anyone more than he loves Mike.

I’ve roughed them out a lot but when they happen; I have a strong handle on them, most of the time. Other times though they can be so brutal and hats off to Suits of how authentic they made it feel with Harvey seeing everyone blurry and everything around him slow and woozy. Such mad respect for this character; absolutely love Gabriel’s portrayal of him. His and Pat’s dynamic is incredible too
The hallway walk seemed pretty on point. It comes, and suddenly everything feels like a haze. You’re waiting to blackout but you can’t, and anything anyone says either goes unnoticed or completely irritates you.
A panic attack is impossible to describe until you get one. You can fight through a panic attack if you have to but this will take every ounce of your energy not to disintegrate into million tiny pieces, literally that's how it feels like.
