One thing with charging you may not be aware of: If using the Tesla UMC or Tesla Charger - just press the button on the type 2 plug in front of your charge port when the car is unlocked and it will open it for you automagically. Same goes for release - make sure the car is unlocked first and then press the button to unlock the charge port and pull it out.

      I have a couple of different suction cup mounts I use, 1 being a GoPro one and 1 is just a generic one off eBay. I usually mount 1 low down the left-side of the windscreen to get a view of the passenger and me (or zoom in to get just me), plus one mounted to the glass roof slightly behind me facing forwards to see the screen and out the windscreen.

    Awesome video. Cant wait to pick it up tomorrow but Im guessing the indicator stalk will be the one that catches me out. Quick question, if a car is charged to 90% and then sat for a week with no charging, would the batteries decrease charge at all? I work FIFO so was wondering if it was parked in long term parking (1 or 2 weeks), would the charge decrease too much that I couldnt drive home? Thanks

    • @teslahirewa90
      @teslahirewa90  Před 2 lety +1

      Great question! If you leave Sentry Mode active, it will drain the battery a couple of % each day, but even after a couple of weeks it should be fine. If you turn Sentry Mode off the battery drain will be very minimal.

Enjoyed an Aussie perspective on the 3. I have only watched Andy from the states who is going to keep his Model 3 for 10 years and has covered 160,000kms in 4 yrs so far on a 2018 model. I am interested in purchasing the SR in the blue. Great informative video you have done here, congratulations 🥳

    • @teslahirewa90
      @teslahirewa90  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Andrew, thanks for the feedback.
      Pricing varies not only from state to state, but Tesla also increases and decreases the price as they see fit (possibly linked to demand?). Since I purchased mine, there has been at least 1 price cut, so they're definitely cheaper now than when I bought mine, but I don't have any regrets at all and LOVE the car. Even after 12 months, I still find excuses to go for a drive because it's just so enjoyable to drive.
      Best to just head to tesla.com and select the state you are in and the specs you want and it'll show you the final price, including a breakdown of the stamp duties and fees etc.

    • @teslahirewa90
      @teslahirewa90  Před rokem +1

      It's not necessary for standard charging at home or for destination chargers, however if heading to a Supercharger, it's best to use the in-car navigation to direct you there because that will also trigger the car to start preconditioning the battery so it's at optimum temperature when you arrive so it can charge as efficiently as possible.

    Great video! I've booked in to rent a Model 3 on my birthday before I pick up my very own :-) One question; I've owned a Tesla before (Model S) so I have the app and account. For renters like me, during the rental period, could I use the app with the car linked to my account for the rental period? Would be nice to be able to monitor the Model 3 from the app while I'm responsible for it :-)

    I drive for Uber in the US and the only down side I see to this is having to keep the key car on the center console, which means someone could steal it very easily. Could the key card be in a person's pocket, positioned so it's near the center console or does it have to be actually touching the center console?

    • @deaj
      @deaj Před 2 lety +1
