kittenassassin I never really like the whole unmounted thing. I like mounted toms because their sturdier, and you have more flexibility in moving the toms however you like without having to move the stand. Then again I play a Starclassic so not everybody gets the same amazing tom mount system :P

Why would anyone want to use drums that mount on the bass drum? Especially when he has other sets that have a stand or rack mounting system.
Practicality! It can mean hauling less stands around to gigs!
Yeah practicality really, doesn't affect the sound. I prefer it, I don't like un-drilled bass drums.
I have a masters thats not drilled and it means bringing a rack or else 2 extra stands if i want 2 rack toms!
Oh, I see. I still prefer the toms mounted on stands because you can move them more to your liking. (I play a Pearl SSC 2013 Namm Show edition)
